Then the problems started. I used a credit card to cover the cost of the move which was taken over the phone the day of the move. I then checked my bank account a few weeks later and saw that there were two 270$ charges on my account about 6 days apart from each other. I called the company and was told that the charge would be refunded no problem. I checked my bank account again a few days later and saw that the charge had still not been refunded. This same event happened 4 more times for a total of 5 different calls to the company with no refund in sight. I then had to dispute the charge with my bank.
If they hadn't messed up the billing like this I would be writing them a great review. Unfortunately due to all of these billing problems I can't recommend them to anyone else nor will I use them again in the future.
polite but friendly and professional. They arrived on time and were very
careful moving everything properly. And, can I tell you, that was the
Best packed truck ever!
The team arrived right on time, at 9am on the day of the move. All four cheerful, friendly and ready to go. They did a walk through first to make sure they understood what I wanted and then got to it. It only took them about 90 minutes to get the whole house loaded on the truck and ready to go. We did another walk through at the new house so they knew where everything was going and, again, got right to work. They had the piano upstairs in the loft in less than 10 minutes and didn't even leave so much as a mark on the wall!
I couldn't be happier with the service I received. These are true professionals. After many bad experiences with cut rate movers, I will never use anyone else. Moving Simplified is the absolute best in quality and service.
The guy I spoke to seemed to take the call pretty lightly claiming they could do everything I asked w/no problem see you next week.
I called Tuesday to confirm, and got another guy who saw my # on the caller id and said yeah we got you down for Thursday see ya.
Eric called today to confirm he would be there at 2PM. I explained my concern that this may be a scam as to the unprofessionalism w/the phone calls, and lax attitude by his customer service people. He insisted that was not the case, and that they were professional.
At 3PM a couple of guys finally showed up after having called to say they were stuck in traffic. I had scheduled a back up in case these people from Moving Simplified (also advertises move out cleaning) didn't show. The back up was running late on a job she was on so she could not make it.
I went over to look at the work about 6:45 PM, and the place was still dirty. Floors, baseboards, tubs, toilets, windows, walls, medicine cabinets, refrigerator. I asked one of the guys to get Eric on the phone. Eric said they could and quot;touch upand quot; the areas that were missed. I told him It was too late in the evening to do that as very little had been done, and it appeared these men didn't know how to clean, and/or what products to use.
I asked Eric to come out personally to finish the job. Eric said he personally didn't know how to clean, and his girlfriend did his house. He said he was just starting the business, and needed to at least get paid part of the money, or he was calling the police. I told him I was not satisfied with the job, and did not want these people to come back. When I left, these guys followed me in my car, and I finally got away from them at a light. I'm contemplating contacting the authorities on that part of it.
I will never use this company again, and will not recommend them at all.
"[removed member name], I'm sorry to hear that you are so upset with our services. As owner of the business I feel that we did everything that was possible to get your house as clean as it could be. I offered a half price deduction since you were unhappy and told you our guys would be more than happy to finish right then with whatever was needed or at another time. You told me that neither of these options would work and that you were not going to pay for the services. You asked for certain things to be cleaned which could not be cleaned. The thing that seemed to frustrate you the most was the fact that we were unable to remove nicotine stains from the walls and other stains which accumulated over 30-40 some odd years of living in the home. You left and put your boyfriend in charge. He told us he was very happy with the services and we had done a great job."
They were to pack the majority of our house on Jan. 27, then load it into the truck on Jan. 28 and leave for Austin at noon. Eric and a helper arrived on the 27th on time, packed for about 3 hours, got 2/3 of everything packed and said the men would finish it the next day. The following day, the loaders arrived on time to discover 1/3 of the house not packed. They hadn't planned to do that much packing on that day and had to get more boxes half-way through the finish-up. The additional packing time added 3 hours to the process and made it impossible for us to clean the house before we left, as we had planned to do. The loaders were very professional and good at their jobs; the problem occurred because Eric had under-estimated the time and materials needed to pack our complete home and did not communicate this to the other team members.
The delay on moving day was frustrating for me, my husband and the loader/movers. However, the 3 hour delay equaled a $3,000 savings in cost, and I had expected something to happen from the beginning. The loader/movers did a great job of getting the truck to Austin on time and moved everything into our new home in a careful and timely manner.
BTW, Eric was very helpful in getting a trailer to tow our car behind the truck right before we were scheduled to begin the move. He saved us half over what a car moving company was charging, and eliminated the worry and trouble of scheduling the car pickup and delivery.
I would use this company again for any move I needed to make in the Charlotte area, small or large. Just be aware that cost savings come with some possible problems in the details of the move and be clear in written expectations.
Ultimately, I was not extremely bothered by the initial damage, as I understand things do happen. However, when Eric, the expressed business owner, did not return repeated phone calls and displayed grave lack of customer service, I have to refuse to use this company again and make others aware of my experience.
