Good experience at the beginning. Moved a pool table for me in a timely fashion and at a reasonable price. I wasn’t around when they finished the job. Discovered later the table wasn’t level. Eric apologized and said they would take care of it, then proceeded to stop all communication. If you have the nerve to use them, I wouldn’t pay until the job is done.

Everything went fine. Eric and his coworker moved quickly but carefully and were knowledgeable about the best way to move items. They picked the gun safe up at Cabela's and brought it to my house to place in the garage. Cabala's contracts with a company and gives you a referral to them, but the customer has to make all the arrangements and pay for it. That company called me the day after I contacted them and got information regarding the job, gave me a quote and then said, "we'll call you in 2 business days to schedule." I called Eric at Moving Simplified and he completed the job before the other company ever called me to schedule it. Not sure why Cabela's refers people to that other company (Nick of Time Moving, I think?). Anyway, I was satisfied with Moving Simplified. Their pricing was very competitive as well.

The estimate was for $1000.00 or less to move. They estimated it would take 4-6 hours to load and then less than that to offload. The owner came to our condo to look at what we had and then gave us an estimate. They showed up on the 29th, had 2 guys, and they worked until 6:00pm. A storm came and it started to rain. One of the guys said they had to leave becasue the truck had a leak and our things would get wet. They were supposed to come back the next day so I call the owner to tell him I needed my items removed by 10:00 am. We agreed to have his workers come back at 7:30 am and no one showed up until 9:00 am. They then finished packing and took everything back to the warehouse. I was informed they would deliver my things the next day. The next day they delivered my items to my home and unloaded the items off the first truck, but nothing from the 2nd truck. Items like parts to the bed and other critical things we needed were not there. They promised they would bring my items the next day and they did come until 2 days later. I spoke to Eric the owner and he said he would be charging me an extra $300.00. I did not agree to this and I told him I will not pay. He then told me he would not deliver the remainder my things until I paid. I had to call the police because of this. I would like to mention the workers were great. They were embarrassed of the whole situation saying I should've had 3 people to move my items, the owner should have not sent 2. I was then informed that the employees had their jobs threatened and could not make any more comments to me about the job. The job was completed late and overall it was a bad experience. Eric likes to blame the customer and said I had packed my items incorrectly even though the workers said everything was packed correctly. Eric is one of the most unprofessional business men I have ever come across. I will be reporting him to the BBB as well as realtors.

The Crew practically fell over themselves apologizing at our doorstep. We actually thought it was a lot worse by their manner. In the end after an exchange with the Owner the very next day the situation was completely restored. I use to think small business owners reputation was just as important then the national companies...but after this experience it proved to be much more important. They restored my mailbox to "brand" new. Way to stand behind your firm. I would definitely trust and use this business if I were to ever to find the need. Thanks for offering me an outlet to tell my short story, James

The workers were good but the owner was terrible. They bid lowest but they costed more than they said it would. The owner threaten me to pull his men of the work as it was taking longer time as he anticipated. The worker people were very nice. The owner was completely unavailable and he just contacted us through his workers. They were 2 hours late every day.

The moving process itself went flawlessly. The movers arrived exactly on time, packed and moved the arcade machine without a hitch.
Then the problems started. I used a credit card to cover the cost of the move which was taken over the phone the day of the move. I then checked my bank account a few weeks later and saw that there were two 270$ charges on my account about 6 days apart from each other. I called the company and was told that the charge would be refunded no problem. I checked my bank account again a few days later and saw that the charge had still not been refunded. This same event happened 4 more times for a total of 5 different calls to the company with no refund in sight. I then had to dispute the charge with my bank.
If they hadn't messed up the billing like this I would be writing them a great review. Unfortunately due to all of these billing problems I can't recommend them to anyone else nor will I use them again in the future.

We had some work done on our floors so all of our furniture was in the garage. These guys came on short notice to help us move everything back in once we got home, and did a great job. Arrived a few minutes early, worked hard and fast, and took good care of our things. The job was done in less than an hour, and with a small Angies List discount, we paid a VERY competitive rate.

Several items were broken. A few items are still missing. Although I requested an initial quote, it was promised in writing and never provided; resulting in about a $1500 over payment from the verbal quote. Owner was verbally abusive to his employees in front of customers, using profanity.

From the moment I initiated email contact with Moving Simplified, I knew this was a different kind of moving company. The owner, Eric, returned my email right away and made sure to get all the details of my move so he could set me up with the right team. I used a four man team because I was moving a baby grand piano. My biggest concern was getting the piano upstairs into the loft area of my new home. The stairs were narrow with a turn at the top and I wasn't sure if it was even going to be possible. Eric assured me that if anyone could get the piano up into the loft, his full time professional movers would.
The team arrived right on time, at 9am on the day of the move. All four cheerful, friendly and ready to go. They did a walk through first to make sure they understood what I wanted and then got to it. It only took them about 90 minutes to get the whole house loaded on the truck and ready to go. We did another walk through at the new house so they knew where everything was going and, again, got right to work. They had the piano upstairs in the loft in less than 10 minutes and didn't even leave so much as a mark on the wall!
I couldn't be happier with the service I received. These are true professionals. After many bad experiences with cut rate movers, I will never use anyone else. Moving Simplified is the absolute best in quality and service.

Moving Simplified was extremely wonderful. I was amazed that paying somebody by the hour, that they did it as quickly and uneventful as they did. So, everything was perfect. My belongings were very neatly put in the truck and done so it wasn't going to shift. They put things exactly where I told them and did thing very neatly and quickly. I have some more stuff that I have to move, and I'll be calling them for that.

Joe and Zack from Moving Simplified moved my household goods from an apartment and a storage unit to our new home approximately 7 miles away. They were on time to start the move and worked diligently and efficiently for eight hours. They took great care in handling all of our possessions and successfully moved our goods with no damage. They were polite and professional throughout. . This is the second time we have moved this year (we originally moved from out of town to an apartment until we could find a home). Moving Simplified was much more professional and skilled than the movers we hired for the first move. I wish I had known of this company when we originally moved. I would highly recommend Moving Simplified to anyone regardless of the size of the move or the distance. They are true professionals.

We scheduled a move out cleaning with this company who answered the phone, and quot;Helloand quot;? I thought I had the wrong number.
The guy I spoke to seemed to take the call pretty lightly claiming they could do everything I asked w/no problem see you next week.
I called Tuesday to confirm, and got another guy who saw my # on the caller id and said yeah we got you down for Thursday see ya.
Eric called today to confirm he would be there at 2PM. I explained my concern that this may be a scam as to the unprofessionalism w/the phone calls, and lax attitude by his customer service people. He insisted that was not the case, and that they were professional.
At 3PM a couple of guys finally showed up after having called to say they were stuck in traffic. I had scheduled a back up in case these people from Moving Simplified (also advertises move out cleaning) didn't show. The back up was running late on a job she was on so she could not make it.
I went over to look at the work about 6:45 PM, and the place was still dirty. Floors, baseboards, tubs, toilets, windows, walls, medicine cabinets, refrigerator. I asked one of the guys to get Eric on the phone. Eric said they could and quot;touch upand quot; the areas that were missed. I told him It was too late in the evening to do that as very little had been done, and it appeared these men didn't know how to clean, and/or what products to use.
I asked Eric to come out personally to finish the job. Eric said he personally didn't know how to clean, and his girlfriend did his house. He said he was just starting the business, and needed to at least get paid part of the money, or he was calling the police. I told him I was not satisfied with the job, and did not want these people to come back. When I left, these guys followed me in my car, and I finally got away from them at a light. I'm contemplating contacting the authorities on that part of it.
I will never use this company again, and will not recommend them at all.

Response from Moving Simplified
"[removed member name], I'm sorry to hear that you are so upset with our services. As owner of the business I feel that we did everything that was possible to get your house as clean as it could be. I offered a half price deduction since you were unhappy and told you our guys would be more than happy to finish right then with whatever was needed or at another time. You told me that neither of these options would work and that you were not going to pay for the services. You asked for certain things to be cleaned which could not be cleaned. The thing that seemed to frustrate you the most was the fact that we were unable to remove nicotine stains from the walls and other stains which accumulated over 30-40 some odd years of living in the home. You left and put your boyfriend in charge. He told us he was very happy with the services and we had done a great job."

Their truck broke down the morning that they were supposed to help me move. While they did let me know that the truck had broken down, I always had to be the one that called him. The part that dissapointed me is that I understood their situation and simply asked that they keep in touch with me to let me know what was going on. They did tell me they would give me a discount (although we didn't discuss the specific amount of the discount). When my credit card got charged, I called and asked them if they had applied the promised discount. The guy (Skyler) in the office told me that yes, they had given me a $10.00 per hour discount on the regular $95.00 per hour rate. I explained that I had been quoted $85.00 initially. Skyler then backtracked and stated that since I had been quoted by someone else (Austin) that he would have to talk to the owner (Eric) and did not have the authority to make any changes. I then looked on the website and noticed that they advertise an hourly rate of $85.00. So they lied to me when they stated that they had given me a discount. To clarify, the movers themselves seemed like nice guys, but it was the management that I feel has really tried to pull a fast one. I did try to call their office back today and still have not heard anything back.

The manager came out and estimated how much time it would take to move me - 6-7 hours. I showed him the patio furniture, the storage room and all closets, etc. I have moved many times in the past so I wanted to make it go really smoothly. I had the patio and storage room moved prior to moving day. I had moved at least 50% of the moving boxes before moving day. In fact, on moving day I was concerned for the 3 men that they sent to move me that they wouldn't get a full day's pay because so much had already been moved. They arrived on time 9 a.m, The 3 movers were very polite and wanted to do a good job. At about 1:00 I started to realize how late it was getting, how much was left to move and how much time I was spending in the condo alone. The 3 of them were down in the truck (for 20 minutes or more) with no one up in the condo getting the next item ready and to the door. Eventually, I started pulling things to the door myself. When I questioned them they told me they were arranging the truck. At 4:00 the truck finally rolled toward the new house. On the way I called the manager that had come out and given me the estimate. I told him that the timeliness was unacceptable and that I was frustrated and unhappy. He told me we would settle up and he would make me happy at the end of the day. Proceeding to the house, unloading took another 4 hours. Several pieces of furniture were damaged. The movers were sweaty, of course, and they had no wrapping protecting my upholstered furniture. There was no carpet runner to protect the carpet. The full bill was $1200+. At the conclusion I said I would pay half and then settle up with the manager because he was the one with whom I had been communicating. Immediately the mover with the bill called the owner not the manager. The owner didn't ask what was wrong, what happened. He just started yelling about the contract and that he would come out with the police if I didn't pay the whole bill. A few minutes later he showed up on my doorstep and continued yelling. Finally, he calmed enough to negotiate the bill. Before I could pay him the police showed up. He met them and told them it was settled. Needless to say it was a horrible day and all the work I had done to make it easier was negated by the movers being untrained in space and time management. I do not fault the 3 movers. I feel as though they just didn't have enough training and that they were set up to fail by the manager's estimate of time. Everyone involved was nice except for the owner. He was disrespectful, angry, totally not interested in repeat business or referrals. Needless to say I give the manager an D for not being realistic and knowing how to estimate. I give the owner an F- because he should be a professional instead of having the behavior of an angry adolescent. The 3 movers I would give a B.

I'd done so much research on the move out to Charlotte and learned then a great deal from the outstanding and expensive company who moved us from TX to Charlotte (about how on-line and over the phone quotes were a scam -- only an onsite quote was accurate, how evil companies can screw a customer by not unloading their things unless they pay more, and why to always get a and quot; Not to Exceedand quot; quote) that I knew that you pay for what you get. I had also done substantial research on Moving Simplified, and knew Eric and the company were basically good, but had issues w/ followup and detail management, so I knew one important thing going into this venture: somewhere in the process, something was going to go awry. However the savings in cost made that okay.
They were to pack the majority of our house on Jan. 27, then load it into the truck on Jan. 28 and leave for Austin at noon. Eric and a helper arrived on the 27th on time, packed for about 3 hours, got 2/3 of everything packed and said the men would finish it the next day. The following day, the loaders arrived on time to discover 1/3 of the house not packed. They hadn't planned to do that much packing on that day and had to get more boxes half-way through the finish-up. The additional packing time added 3 hours to the process and made it impossible for us to clean the house before we left, as we had planned to do. The loaders were very professional and good at their jobs; the problem occurred because Eric had under-estimated the time and materials needed to pack our complete home and did not communicate this to the other team members.
The delay on moving day was frustrating for me, my husband and the loader/movers. However, the 3 hour delay equaled a $3,000 savings in cost, and I had expected something to happen from the beginning. The loader/movers did a great job of getting the truck to Austin on time and moved everything into our new home in a careful and timely manner.
BTW, Eric was very helpful in getting a trailer to tow our car behind the truck right before we were scheduled to begin the move. He saved us half over what a car moving company was charging, and eliminated the worry and trouble of scheduling the car pickup and delivery.

I would use this company again for any move I needed to make in the Charlotte area, small or large. Just be aware that cost savings come with some possible problems in the details of the move and be clear in written expectations.

In the process of moving my large wood armoire, the base of the frame was cracked. I understand accidents happen, therefore I did not make a big deal of it, simply just requested it be documented by the movers so I could inform Eric of the damage. I contacted Eric by phone, that same day, explained the damage to him and requested he have a furniture repair company repair the damage. Eric then responded by stating his company is bonded/insured for .60 per pound and he would need the make and model of the armoire before doing anything. I advised him I did not have that information and suggested I just take a couple of photos of the damage and email those to him. At the time, he said that sounded like a good idea and once he received the photos he would contact me the next day. I did not hear from Eric the next day, so I gave him until close of business the following day and still did not hear from him. I called Eric and had to leave a message on his voicemail. I again went into detail as to who I was and why I was calling and also told him I sent the pictures two days ago , per our agreement, and had not heard from him and reminded him that he had stated he would contact me the very next day and it was now two days later and I still had not heard from him. I attempted to contact Eric by phone for a week and a half, with no response from him. Each time I called, I reiterated who I was, why I was calling as well as leaving two alternate contact numbers each time I called. It wasn't until the very last message I left, telling Eric his lack of customer service was unacceptable, I was not going to let this go and I was going to have this all documented on Angie's List, that Eric finally decided to call me back later that day. He apologized for not returning my calls and stated the numbers I left were incorrect when he called them back. and quot;Really, Eric, that's the best you can come up with??!!and quot; When everything was said and done, Eric advised me he himself had been in the furniture repair business at one point and asked if he could do the repair himself. At this point, I was tired of this and just wanted the furniture repaired. He arrived at my house past the scheduled time, but repaired my damaged furniture.

Ultimately, I was not extremely bothered by the initial damage, as I understand things do happen. However, when Eric, the expressed business owner, did not return repeated phone calls and displayed grave lack of customer service, I have to refuse to use this company again and make others aware of my experience.
