I had used Terry for previous small handyman jobs. I called him this time because during heavy rainstorms I was getting occasional leaking on my kitchen floor next to the back French door and window. He came by two or three days later, when he removed some old caulking around the door and window frames and then applied new caulking. Initially, Terry's work appeared to be good. However, over the ensuing days, I noticed that caulking was coming loose from the door frame and adhering instead to the frame of the screen door (which made contact with the main door frame). After more and more caulking transferred from the main door frame to the screen door frame, I called Terry on Friday morning, 8/30, and asked him to return to fix this problem. He agreed to return sometime during the following week and to call me before coming. I didn't hear from him from Monday to Thursday of that week, so I called and left a reminder message for him early Friday morning, 9/7. He neither returned my call nor arrived to repair his work. I called again around 4 p.m. that day. Again, he didn't answer and I left a message. He didn't call during the weekend or the following Monday. On Tuesday, 9/11, I decided to give up on him and submit this evaluation. I consider this repair to be urgent now.

From the beginning, Terry was responsive and professional. It was easy to schedule a time and date for the work to be done. He was prompt and went to work right away. Terry had several items I didn't realize I needed. If he didn't have the correct part, he happily went to the hardware store without delay. Terry spent the entire day at our home as I kept finding small things for him to do. He left no messes and was kind to my children.
