When I called Maid In Heaven Tuesday afternoon, a woman named Emily answered the phone right away. Surprisingly enough, I was calling different cleaning services and this was the only one where I didn't have to leave a message, which I mentioned to Emily. She laughed and said she had just hung up phone when it rang. She was very friendly and extremely helpful. (2nd good impression)
Scheduled the cleaning for Friday of last week. Allison arrived on time and was extremely friendly. She brought all of her own supplies and got right to work. I barely noticed that she was there, which was nice since I was preparing food for our party.
She was there for 6 hours. Definitely a huge help having the whole house cleaned! When Allison finished, the house looked wonderful. (3rd good impression) Didn't want to inspect while she was there (I am just not a confrontation person), but went around after she had left and found everything quite satisfactory. (4th good impression)
Received a followup email the next morning to ask how the service was and I let them know that I wondered how I had lived without a cleaning service! (5th good impression)
Super happy!! Have scheduled Allison to come every other week moving forward.
I've *hired* Maid In Heaven 3 times, but they've cleaned my house 4. First experience was great! Second experience, absolutely nothing got done. To her credit, Beth did arrange for a third cleaning, free of charge, due to the poor work.
THEN, hired Maid in Heaven for another "priority list" clean at 8:00 on a Friday. I stayed home until 8:30, no sign of them. 9:00, I call Beth and ask what's going on. She kept saying, "Oh...I didn't think you were home." Apparently she had to pull and reschedule the cleaner and wasn't going to tell me because she thought I was at work and wouldn't realize no one showed up. The rescheduled clean (very inconvenient timing) just didn't happen. Over half the "priority list" wasn't done in the 3-hour period, while the same list PLUS some had been done the first time we hired them. Even worse, the house smelled STRONGLY of cigarette smoke when we got home. Seriously, I think the place was worse than when we left in the morning.
No apology from Beth for the lack of cleaning or the smell of smoke. I actually got an e-mail "FYI [cleaner] doesn't smoke" as if I was lying about the smell.
DO NOT hire. Again, you might get lucky and have a good experience or two, but this company is just not reliable for recurring cleanings and it's not worth your time to try and deal with Beth.

Cleaning more that 6,500 times per year however does show that more than 9 times out of 10 Maid In Heaven does have very satisfied customers who return again and again week after week, year after year. Note that all of the rooms, with the exception of the kitchen, were empty (the kitchen had a little leftover trash). There was new carpet upstairs, finished hardwoods in the living & dining rooms, tile in the kitchen, and laminate in the family room. We had two of their employees in our house for four hours, paying them $220 in Cash up-front. My wife and I both work, so we deidn't immediately see the house, but our realtor, who had seen the house prior to their cleaning, came in to take pictures for the listing after they had gone, and asked us if the maids had come. It was that bad. There was some evidence of cleaning, but we were really left to wonder what they spent their time on.
We felt comfortable with this company since they had a decent rating on Angie's List, but our biggest mistake was paying them the Cash up-front. We would never recommend this company to anyone, and caution anyone not to pay Cash upfront without seeing the work first.
"We hate to have bad reviews! Unfortunately sometimes it just cannot be helped! This home was not ready for a move out cleaning and it was incredibly dirty. It was not vacant as we were initially told. Cabinets, counters were still full of items. A call was placed to John's wife Carloline to reconfirm that we should be there. She wanted us to do what we could given the condition of the home. In addition to the kitchen floor having to be scrapped before it could be mopped (had to mop 3 times and still not completely clean), the home owner had workers there walking over the wet floors. This was all conveyed to the homeowner during the cleaning. Sorry to have not met his expectations!"
Was so pleased we decided to start using the cleaning service every other week.
My neighbor had recommended Maid in Heaven and that is why I used them. I would not repeat this mistake. 18 months ago I had my entire home spring cleaned for $400 and they did an exceptional job. I feel that I was gyped.
"We are sorry we were not able to do the spring cleaning to your expectations. Please note an email mail was sent to (deleted member name) the day after the cleaning to follow up and make sure she was satisfied. Although (deleted member name) did not reply to the email for 3 weeks, we still offered to come back and fix those things that we missed. (deleted member name) never replied."
The quality of the service I receive in all areas is unsurpassed. Everyone who has been to my home to clean have been pleasant, polite and dedicated. Understanding that with people there may be an issue here or there all I have had to do is call the office and the issue was/is resolved with the next cleaning. I havebeen very impressed with the ladies willingness to please if I have a
special request.
To me, this service is vital to my well being!

1st rate cleaning.
The whole-house cleaning (they call it a move in cleaning) was thorough - every room received detailed attention, from cleaning and scrubbing the bathrooms and kitchen to dusting the blinds slat-by-slat and cleaning the windows & casings.
Every two weeks, they disinfect and clean every room in the house, dust all surfaces and ceiling fans, and sweep/vacuum/mop.
And if there's ever a problem, Beth (the owner/operator) does everything in her power to make it right.
