"Lundberg Roofing, Windows & Siding has been in business in Charlotte for over 33 years with an excellent reputation and a Superior Rating with Angie’s List. Please see our response below in regards to out of warranty, unrelated service requested. The current posting on Angie’s List is categorized as Chimney Repair, which Lundberg did no chimney repairs and is misleading to the posting. The last sentences refer to a sealant and fixing a leak, which has never been a complaint to Lundberg. The issue was a flue pipe that was not passing code when a new furnace was installed a couple of months ago. This complaint was for a situation inside of the attic of the home. According to our records, the Customer called our office 8-21-2012 and spoke with the Customer in regards to an issue with their furnace flue pipe. They had a new furnace installed the week prior to his call and were told that the new furnace would not pass inspection because the flue pipe that exits through the roof was resting against the roof beam, located inside the attic. The homeowner asked if we could do anything about this and Mrs. Lundberg replied that we could, but that there would be a service charge. The roof was replaced on 8/9/2005 and carried a two-year free workmanship warranty on the roofing. Even though that warranty was long ago expired, it would never have covered an inside problem which had nothing to do with our outside roofing system. Mrs. Lundberg did offer to have our service team go to the home to relocate his interior flue pipe. She explained that there would be a charge if he would like to get this work done and the homeowner said he would think about it and let us know. That was the last conversation we had with the homeowner. A week after Mrs. Lundberg’s conversation, Lundberg received a notice from the homeowner through our Angie’s List option to request information, stating this issue and threatening a public complaint against Lundberg. There has been no work done that would lead to a complaint against Lundberg. We replaced the homeowner’s roof in 2005 and provided a two-year workmanship warranty. The issue with the furnace pipe not passing code had nothing to do with the re-roofing of the home or the out of date warranty. As for the code, we would believe the house and furnace piping passed code at the time the last furnace was installed, but codes change every day and it affects future work on a house. Re-roofing the house would not have had a bearing on the furnace pipe location inside of the attic, nor would it have changed the exit area of the flue pipe on the existing roof. Lundberg never received a response from the homeowner to proceed to relocate the flue pipe for a charge as offered August 21, 2012. Instead we received the threat of an unfounded complaint. After receiving the threat, Lundberg Roofing, Windows & Siding notified the homeowner September 5, 2012 that we withdrew our offer to provide service in regards to relocating a furnace pipe inside of their home’s attic. We regret that this course of action was chosen by the homeowners."

"We regret that the Hanmers have been upset with their purchase and service from Lundberg Roofing, Windows & Siding for the past year and are just now posting their concerns. With over 49 current reports on Angie’s List, Lundberg only has 3 below A-B ratings. Lundberg received Angie’s List Superior ratings for 2011 in the areas of both roofing and windows. If a customer has a complaint at the time a job is installed, we make every effort to rectify the issue and satisfy the customer. Lundberg has operated in Charlotte for over 33 years with this philosophy. Our jobs are checked during the day by the salesman and our service team. On occasion we may find trash left from lunch time along with construction debris, but it is always cleaned up and we have never found beer cans on a jobsite. Gutters are not replaced the same day that a roof is replaced. It is a different installation crew that installs gutters. Lundberg acknowledges that we placed a Lien on the property for non-payment. As a small business this is the only recourse a small business has as a means of collections. Over the past two years and completion of over 600 roof replacements, Lundberg has only placed 8 liens on properties. Once a customer pays their bill, our company initiates contact with our attorney to have the lien released. Full payment was received July 14, 2011 and the Lien was released July 26, 2011. Lundberg has a solid reputation in the Charlotte area and has been a long-standing A+ member of the BBB with no unresolved complaints."
