I want to warn anyone dealing the owners of the 8 La-Z-Boy stores in the SE to run away as fast as you can. These stores are owned by TIPPERARY SALES, and this is an absolutely horrible company! If you want La-Z-Boy, get it from another company furniture store. Tipperary owns the La-Z-Boy stores in Charlotte, NC; Asheville, NC; Pineville, NC; Greenville, SC; N Charleston, SC; Lexington, SC; Pooler, GA; and Evan’s, GA. I purchased furniture back in Dec. 2023 from the Charlotte, NC La-Z-Boy store. When it was delivered in March 2024, I noticed it wasn’t the right chairs. I told the delivery team, and they asked if it was damaged. I said no, so they said to sign electronically that I received it and to call the store and they will address it. I called the store, and they refused to let me exchange for the correct chairs because it was a special order. The store manager accidentally wrote the wrong model on the contract. I know it was wrong because when I finally examined it after all this, I noticed it was the same brand as the sofa. In the store I didn’t like that brand in the recliner, so we found a different one. It was an honest mistake (I didn’t look over my contract closely and she wrote it up wrong and didn’t catch it), but they refused to fix it one day one of receiving the chairs. They kept saying it was a special custom order (even though all purchases are special orders with them). Then they said I signed a binding contract, so there is no way out. I had to purchase the correct chairs from the Greensboro NC location. I then took the Charlotte La-Z-Boy store to small claims court in May 2024 for the cost of the chairs as well as the delivery fee I had to pay to get the new chairs delivered from Greensboro. I won that case based on a mutual mistake of contract (one reason that voids a binding contract). After the court case, the company refused to pay. I had to dispute my Synchrony finance charge 3 times to stop payment while I was waiting for the Charlotte store to pay the judgement. I had to make 3 additional trips to the Charlotte courthouse (1 1/2 hours away) to fill out paperwork to get the sheriff to collect the money. The sheriff was able to collect the money the end of August 2024, and then the store pulled a fast one. I had never heard of Tipperary Sales before a sheriff in my county showed up saying Tipperary was suing me for refusing to return the 2 chairs. Tipperary said they refunded me and I was refusing to return them. Tipperary couldn’t turn around and use the La-Z-Boy name because I had already taken them to small claims court under that name. They just used the name Tipperary. The case I won wasn’t a return for the chairs. I was awarded the money because we got to that point. I tried to exchange or return from day one and they refused (and was very rude about it- the GM of the store even blocked my email so I couldn’t email her). So I had to go back to small claims court. The judge this time wouldn’t let me speak. He said everyone should know that Tipperary is La-Z-Boy. The judge said he wouldn’t get involved in the first case but then said I needed to give the chairs back. Fortunately I hadn’t sold them yet. The store came last week to pick up the chairs, but refused to provide paperwork stating they had these chairs and that these were the correct chairs. They said I needed to wait 3 days until they looked them over to get anything, so I refused to let them take the chairs. I learned the hard way not to trust this company. Today, a sheriff and 2 guys came in a pickup truck came to get the chairs. Thank goodness I am done with this company and the chairs are out of my garage. I have never dealt with such a difficult company as this one. Reading other reviews about Tipperary shows just awful they are. I want my story known as well before someone else spends thousands on furniture. Stay away from Tipperary at all costs, and read every bit of the contract if you do purchase from them because you cannot correct it later if they make a mistake writing it up. If you are dealing with one of those 8 La-Z-Boy stores, make sure you add Tipperary Sales d.b.a La-Z-Boy Home Furnishings and Decor in your complaint.

Once the sale was entered in the computer, the problems started. The salesperson no longer works there. We were told things that weren't true (ie- having to drive back to the store to pay) and the delivery was scheduled from 3-6. The delivery finally arrived at 7:30pm and they dropped the chair and ran. Once we looked at the chair we discovered the back cushion was crooked. One side the height is 11" and the other side is 12" so it slants across the top. Over the arms, the one side is 3.5" and the other side is 4.25". The whole chair looks crooked because of the cushion. When I contacted the store to complain (I won't even get into the poor customer service I experienced from the manager) I was referred to the service center. After several weeks, the service center advised that "up to a 2" variance is within specifications" & they won't do anything. The sample floor model in the showroom looks bad, so we are stuck with ours. This whole experience has been very disappointing.

We had to order the accent table which came in the time frame that was given. The salesman didn't seem pushy but was helpful.
