I would recommend Kelly Lawn Care to anyone who is looking for excellent lawn care at a reasonable price. They're friendly, helpful, reliable and do outstanding work!
Cons: Services limited to mowing and edging. Strong emphasis on the customer being responsible for tracking and reporting missed service visits.
During my service period, there have been instances where the Kelly Lawn team did not show up on the scheduled service date; some of the missed service dates were due to weather, which is necessary and understandable, whereas others were not. Regardless, there was no communication from Kelly Lawn whenever service appointments were missed. Rather, they are adamant that the customer is responsible for reporting any missed service within two days, rather than at the time of billing (which is exactly when you will definitively find out whether or not you're getting billed for missed service). The bottom line is that this is basic record keeping which should be transparent and a non-issue to the customer.
Ultimately, while it's necessary to engage other providers for additional services as needed, I continue to use Kelly Lawn for routine mowing and edging.
Sean Kelly's response is intentional, knowingly false and defamatory. We have cancelled checks showing we paid them in full for all services performed within days of receiving their bills. Hence, no late fees. The "bounced check" is because he tried to cash two in one month! He called us and told us he received an empty envelope. We immediately contacted our bank and the fraud department closed the account and put a stop payment on the check. Almost two weeks later, after he had cashed the replacement check (for the previous month and the current month paid in advance), he found and deposited the original check without contacting us prior to doing so. We immediately sent him an e-mail when we found out telling him the account was closed and the check would not clear.
The only legal action pending will be if we choose to pursue the intentional, knowingly false, defamatory statements made by Sean Kelly.
"Please be advised that we have taken legal action against the member for a bad check written on Oct 10th 2011 for $23. We are also seeking payment of a $25 returned check fee charged by our bank as well as $46 in unpaid service fees. In a spirit of good will we have removed three $20 late fees this year but the members will not honor the bounced check or the service fees for the remaining unpaid visits to their home. Therefore we have taken legal action in Mecklenburg County Superior Court to demand payment of the bounced check and all outstanding fees owed to KellyLawn. We feel that we have given the members more than enough time to honor their legal obligation in this matter. Please remove immediately any reference to KellyLawn and this incident from public viewing until the authorities have ruled on the members passing of bad checks. Thank you, Sean Kelly KellyLawn [email protected]"
