Starnes Auto Body folks repaired damage to several places on my wife's car. Again, as in the past, they made her car look like new. They did the work during the time expected, and got it done on time. Casey and his brother were great to work with, as has been true for us in the past. I really do not know what happened to this place. There were so many great reviews I trusted my car repairs to them, as paid for by an at fault driver's insurance. The first time through they lost my keys, dug a deep scratch in the bumper they had just ordered, painted and installed, and it didn't seem to bother them that the whole thing was out of alignment and the trunk wasn't opening properly. They simply wanted to push it out the door, finished or not. I again trusted that with their great reputation this would be fixed, and I was told that parts would be ordered and things would be fixed. A week goes by and I haven't heard anything so I call back- nothing has been ordered and nothing has been done. With many phone calls to their shop and to the insurance I finally have the car back in the shop, well over a month since the initial accident. I am promised multiple contacts when I would be told an estimated finishing date, which never happened. Not once did Mr. Casey Starnes actually contact me when he said he would and I was stuck waiting the whole time. Once I finally get a phone call a message is left telling me the car will be ready to go in the morning and all they have to do is wash it. After a three hour drive back to Charlotte (in the middle of moving) I am dropping off my car at the rental agency and getting a ride over to the shop, so I call to let them know- when I am told the car is not ready (despite saying that it would be). I show up and I'm again told it's ready... except they failed to repair a piece under a door panel I was directly told would be addressed when I dropped off the car. After pressing the issue my car is passed to the car washer who starts trying to rip off the door panel without removing all the screws and damages it. I have to tell him there is a fastener behind the door handle, because he apparently is not trained in this kind of work and is trying to rip the panel off. Even his co-worker makes fun of him as a result. He then ends up scratching it even more because he stumbles over it on the ground once it is off. Sharing this with Mr. Starnes didn't seem to bother him at all and this same car washer is raising his voice, cussing at me, and slamming a door- with the boss right there. Again Starnes did nothing to correct this behavior and instead of fixing the vehicle the car washer went to complain to his co workers. The inner panel of my door panel is now scratched and the speaker grill even had plastic burrs sticking out where the panel was damaged. No attempt to fix this was made, and even when it was directly pointed out, Starnes did not care. Mr. Starnes directly lied to me on several points making up excuses saying he had not been able to talk to people about issues he already said were discussed with them the week before. He tried to back out of previous statements and assurances, and showed no follow through. It is clear that the people working at this shop are not skilled technicians and they take no pride in their work. There are images on the website of vehicles being carefully painted in a controlled and clear booth. I personally saw exterior body parts being painted with primer spray paint from a rattle can with plenty of dirt flying in an open door garage. It is clear that at one point this was a great shop and the older brother was always great about following up and contacting me as he said he would at the start of the process. They side contracted a muffler shop which I think did a great job as well, but it was a separate business. Also, in regards to the location. Though I was not aware of it a car rental driver pointed out to me that about every other business in that area was a strip club. Pricing seemed reasonable, and would have been rated higher if product and services paid for were delivered. Most other shops will at least clean the car if you have work done there, some even offer to detail it as part of the price. This shop cleaned areas worked on, but nothing else.

It went great ! I chose KC Starnes because of their reviews here on Angie's List and I found they lived up their reviews and excellent rating. From start to finish the process was thorough, professional and efficient. The car looks great and I cannot tell that it was ever repaired. Also, when a special situation arose concerning payment, Casey took the time to contact me to discuss the situation and assure me that even though he would receive less money - that no corners would be cut on my repair. I am totally satisfied with my dealing with KC Starnes Auto body and I highly recommend their service.

KC was professional and promptly fixed my car for a great price. He also had a rental car agency pick me up; so I did not miss any work. I hope I don't need body work again, but if I do I will go to see KC.

Casey was very responsive. Instead of giving me am arbitrary lowball quote just to earn business, I appreciate that he set an expectation of needing to check for any possible further damage and showed me why he suspected further damage. He wanted to make sure money wasn't wasted on labor in repair when it could be more economically replaced. He followed up with me timely even when there was a hold up, which was on the insurance end for not responding to his requests quickly enough. We had a slight misunderstanding in what I wanted done first, but Casey quickly made it right and handled himself professionally. Having had body work done years past, I feel the price was very reasonable that he billed insurance and the quality is excellent. My van looks practically new again and its 10 years old. I am pleased and will refer out work to them in the future.

Unfortunately, I backed my car out of the garage and hit a friend's 6 month old car above the rear tire. I needed to make sure my friend would be happy with the repairs so I printed a list of the top 5 "A" rated body shops in Charlotte. My friend first took his car to the Honda dealer and their estimate was around $1,919. He then selected STARNES Auto Body from the list to get a second quote. I went with him and we were both very impressed with the owners and chose them to perform the work. A few days later we picked the car up and could not tell where the dent was. This has been an incredible painless experience.

Provider gave a very reasonable estimate ($600 less than another provider), made arrangements to do the work, had Enterprise pick me up and the car was completed in the time frame that was given. They did an excellent job on my husband's car! Very professional staff and very knowledgeable.

In May 2012 my SUV died exiting the highway at full speed. Luckily I hit a tree & no injuries. I parked the SUV in my garage until handing it over to KC Starnes in Jan 2014. He took over the 2 problem project with great enthusiasm. Everyone at Starnes is so nice and easy to talk to. KC handled the Autobody repairs but also oversaw every detail related to having a car sit for so long & the issues attached. I trusted KC knowing he was doing the best to bring my car back to road ready!!! The best thing for me was the day KC called me to come look at my car from all angles as it was jacked up just before he began work. He went over everything planned & pointed out key repairs. I'm a woman, I felt comfortable & was so impressed when he mentioned I could come look at my cars progress anytime. Like dealing with a good friend or family member. I was continually kept in the loop the entire time with calls and updates. I'm so pleased. Stress free experience so worth it!!!

FANTASTIC! Dennis and Casey are first class. Super friendly. Super professional. Very honest and trustworthy. My experience at Starnes was outstanding and I will take my and my families cars to this Body shop when ever I need repairs. I will recommend Starnes to anyone. My friend happen to have some body repair work done and he is equally as impressed with this Family owned business as I am. I arrived and they got right to work writing up an estimate. The price seemed very reasonable. I also asked for pricing for some scratches on other parts of the car and again the price seemed very reasonable. I mentioned I had never been in an accident before and I wasn't sure what the next step was. He offered to help me through the process by explaining what each step was and offered to meet the adjuster at his shop so he could explain the work that needed to be done. He also called today to follow up and see if I was having any problems with the claim. I would definitely use them in the future. I ended up trading in the car today without making the repair.

My daughter played bumper cars with a friend and my SUV. I called the Starnes' folks to look at the damage and price it. I had used another reputable body shop in town and had already gotten an estimate from them. Starnes' shop, however, was closer to my home so I wanted to give them a shot after seeing their reviews here. Mr. Starnes met me and promptly reviewed the car, issues and repair details. I told him his estimate was a little higher than my usual guys but he made it clear that he was replacing a part that the other boys were probably trying to repair instead (he was correct). He asked me if I wouldn't mind emailing him the estimate from the other shop. I sent it to him later that day. He offered to match the price and still do the job the way he said he would. The repair took 3 days which is what i was told it would take. However, during that 3 days the Starnes' folks found some poorly executed repairs from a previous accident (my son, that time). Interestingly, after that previous repair I went back to that shop to complain about a rattle from the front end. That shop told me I was nuts and sent me on my way. When the Starnes guys took the front end apart it was readily apparent why it rattled and how shoddy a job they had done. The repair job the Starnes folks did was a little more extensive than they had signed on for due to these issues but they didn't charge me anymore. The car looked and drove great. I'm not an easy customer to please but I cannot say enough good things about KC Starnes. The price was very fair, the work was excellent and, most importantly, they earned my trust and gratitude and I don't give that out lightly. A+ folks.

KC Starnes did a wonderful job. All of the repairs were done perfectly and they even repaired a few other scratches at no cost. They are located directly across from the Tyvola light rail station which was very convenient on drop off and pick up day. I dropped off the car on a Thursday and took the light rail to work and picked the car up the following Monday afternoon. The car looked awesome when I returned. Not only was all the damage and scratches repaired, they also included a full interior clean and a wash and wax.

The Starnes brothers provided excellent customer service, and the finished product was beautiful, and achieved in our agreed upon time frame. I would absolutely use them again.

YES, believe it or not, I only had to spend $36.00 for the small repair job that Casey did for me. I was pleased to know there was no job too small for him to do. I had a cap replaced on the front bumper and it painted to match my vehicle. Casey was kind enough to buff out a few small scratches for me while he had the vehicle. I'm so pleased with the results! The dealership wanted 3x the amount of money just for the part I needed. I'm hoping I don't have to go back for any repairs but if I do, I will definitely go back to Starnes.

I lost my door handle at a local car wash. The car wash got an appraisal and cut me a check. I jumped on Angie's List and decided to call Starnes. I met with Dennis & Casey and they couldn't have been any more pleasant to work with. They worked around my schedule to get me in and got the job done. Even though this was a very small job, Starnes will be my body shop going forward and I will steer everyone I know that is in need of a body shop to Dennis & Casey.

This was an excellent experience. Casey Starnes is great to deal with, gave me an estimate that was several dollars less than the one I had received from a competitor, did excellent work, and actually came in with a price that was approximately $100 less than what he had quoted me. I was impressed all the way around and would highly recommend the company.

Replaced plastic cover on tailgate of my car after someone rolled into me while I was stopped at a light. The estimate was for $186. I brought it in and waited for the work to be done. While I was there, I asked if they could re-glue some molding that had been flapping for several years. It required them to take it off so they warned me that it could break the piece in the process. Happily it didn't and they only charged $35 to fix it. The brothers who own the place are very professional and it was a very pleasant experience. I'm sorry it took a tap from someone to get me in the door, but I am very happy to know they are there if I ever need a body shop again. I would highly recommend them.

We took our son's Ford Ranger truck in for front end repair after it was hit by a neighbor backing out of their driveway. Starnes was very nice and professional; they warned us that the outcome might be disappointing, since secondary parts had to be used due to the age of the vehicle. They were correct; unfortunately, the results were somewhat disappointing, through no fault of theirs, I suppose. We felt the pricing was fair. We did not get the vehicle back when promised due to parts availability.

I actually got my quote from them 4 months prior, but did not want to spend the cash (out of pocket) until I had it. The Aug 2011 quote was honored (in Dec 2011) and we scheduled the service so that I dropped the car on a Sunday night and it was ready by 4:00pm on Monday. I paid for the parts in advance, but paid teh balance when I picked up the car. That semed like a smart and fair deal for both Starnes and me. Only minor issue happened (with back-up sensors) but Starnes more than made it right. I highly recommend Starnes and wish them the best of luck.

They were fine. They did what they said they would do for the money they said they would do it for. They did great work.

I would highly recommend using KC Starnes for body work. I won't go anywhere else. They did a fantastic job and ahead of schedule. They even cleaned the inside of the car and waxed it. I was very impressed.
