Joe was our contractor for a major remodeling project on the first two floors of our home (fireplace redo; entryway tile replacement; three bathroom remodels; carpet removal and replacement of subfloor; etc). Joe did a great job. He was a pleasure to work with and listened to what we wanted. The subs he uses are excellent, especially his tile guy. Joe and his crew were always on time and once they started, they were at our house almost every day until everything was finished. We never had to worry about whether they would show up. They were respectful of our home and if we were unhappy with something they did, they did their best to fix it to our satisfaction ASAP. We are so happy with the finished projects and so glad we found Joe . We essentially have a beautiful new home because of him! Joe can sometimes come across as stubborn, but that’s only because he’s trying to make sure you don’t make bad decisions. I would use Joe again and I give him my highest recommendation. The floors look absolutely fabulous. The tiles picked out and the laminated wood floor look beautiful in my home. The quality of work and craftsmanship is great. The workers that joe has working with him were so nice and so helpful with moving furniture around for us. I was kept informed of each step the guys were working on. I was concerned with spending the amount of money I did on materials and labor at first. When I started to really see how the house was transforming My concern turned to grateful real quick. I have more projects for Joe Cortina's home improvement. I love how the floors look and how much I was able to faith with this company. Thank you for all the hard work

NEVER EVER use Joe Cortina!!! In the beginning he was very reassuring and confident on how he would make the shower look amazing.

The sub (or whoever) he used was careless once the bathroom floor tile was laid. They threw broken pieces all over the newly installed tile with no concern if it would damage the floor.
The subway tile that was put in had some tile higher (thinset was too thick on the backside) and some lower than others. They used chipped tiles, though they had tons of extras (that I would pick up if they requested).

The tiles were crooked and he did not even listen to what I said about the grout lines which was 1/8th inch EVERYWHERE in the bathroom, that way there is NO confusion. The grout lines in the shower ended up being 1/4 inch with unsanded grout which looked like crap because every swipe and smoothing effort could be seen in the grout.
He ended up coming back 3 times to fix issues because he said and quot;what's wrong now?!and quot; and and quot;don't worry, we'll fix it...and quot; After the third time, I told him he was not coming back in my house again. After that it went downhill and he proceeded to swear and cuss at me, my wife and how I was telling him how to run his business.
Consider yourself warned if you use him. He is a smooth talker and will NOT deliver any quality product!

It was a wonderful experience working with Joe. He worked quickly and steadily and finished the job in a very reasonable amount of time. All of his subcontractors were on time, pleasant to have in the house, and experienced. Joe responded immediately to texts and phone calls. He always did what he said he was going to do. My husband and I will be using him to renovate our deck and build a pergola later this spring. I can't recommend Joe more highly! We will be calling him in future for any other remodeling work that we need to do.

He came to our house, and we gave him our ideas. He is very good at giving you a fair cost, that saves you money. His creativity came together with our vision of the design. his professional team made this a reality.

Joe was recommended to me by an Electrician whom I had hired to help me with redirecting some kitchen wiring and connections. I had an IKEA island range hood/vent that needed to be installed into the ceiling above my cooktop / corner cabinet.
Joe came over to take a close look at the hood as well as where I wanted it installed, talked with me in detail about the task at hand and what he thought it would entail and then gave me an estimate of about $150. Which for the scope of this project I found to be quite reasonable...the hood needed to be mounted to joists in the ceiling, but the new kitchen design called for this to be hung diagonally over a corner cabinet ...so this was a bit more involved than 'just' cutting a hole and plugging in some heavy duty screws...
Joe was able to take care of the project a few days later...and I think he did a great job...I had to go into work, so he stayed in touch with me about the progress over the phone. He immediately informed me that once he cut a hole into the ceiling where the hood was supposed to go, he ran into a pipe that he needed to re-direct, if the hood was to stay in the place which the new kitchen design had called for. This was an unknown issue, since we did not check out the attic in detail in his first visit. But Joe went out and got the necessary supplies and took care of it nicely...and the snag 'only' put the total project $30 over. He called me when the project was done and told me exactly what he did and/or didnt do...and left the house in as clean a state as it was before he got there.
Since he and I talked in detail at his first visit to my house, I very much felt like I could trust Joe to do a good job...whether I was at the house or not. I also very much appreciated that I did not have to leave him a check or cash before the job was done nor immedaietely after the work was completed, since I was not there to inspect it right away...but Joe was perfectly fine with me inspecting his work after I came home that day and he also told me that I could call him if I had any questions or was not satisfied...and then I could mail him my payment once I was sure that I was happy with his work. That also helped me feel that I could trust him.

He quoted us on Thursday or Friday and was on the job on Monday. We had a lot of work in 4 rooms. They had it patched and finished by day two with all walls ready to paint, except for one wall in which they stripped off wallpaper and found a wierd textured surface underneath. That one will require light sanding (which we will do( and then it will be ready.

He makes repairs himself and finds other contractors to perform work as well. I can recommend him with any reservations. He is able to get a good price from trusted contractors.
