Our dog had been moving closer and closer to the Invisible Fence boundary without the collar activating. I tested the collar by removing it from the dog's neck and passing it over the wire. The collar only beeped when within 3 inches of the wire, so my first step was to change out the battery. I tested the collar again, but got the same results. I opened the invisible fence controller and noted that the SATURATION light was red and the main controller light was not green-and-flashing, but rather green-and-solid. Usually a green-and-solid light indicates a wire break, but the alarm was not sounding. Hmmmm. So, I pressed the reset buttons below the saturation light. Within 10 minutes, the alarm was sounding! Aha. Now I knew I had a line break. I started walking the yard perimeter, but there was no obvious breaks to be seen. Since the wire is buried, I figured that the landscaper had broke the wire with the aerator in October, and his crew had silenced the alarm, but did not tell anybody about it. I judged them wrongly, however, as you will see. I called Invisible Fence on Monday, and they agreed to send their technician out on Tuesday to find and repair the break. But, with luck on my side, the technician called me within an hour, telling me that he had some unexpected free time yet on Monday. I was at work, but no problem, I did not need to be onsite during the repair because I had already provided by credit card number over the phone. The technician found the break. Apparently, the high rain water had washed away the dirt in the ditch where the wire crossed from the street through my horse pasture, exposing the wire, and leaving the wire vulnerable to the steel-shoed hooves of the horses. The technician repaired the break, reset my system, and both called me and left me with a written report. The system works well again, and I am very pleased with the expediency and the hassle-free service. In the future, I will still try to diagnose any system issues myself using the owners manual, but I will call upon these guys for the service.

Service tech was very knowledgeable and helpful
Only warning is that charges for return visit are exorbitant, so better warned that you need to make all decsions upfront. No allowance for a follow up 2-3 weeks later to determine if system needs any changes.

They gave us 2 options for the fence and prices and explained everything in full detail. We chose the more expensive option with the boundary plus due to our yard size. We were having other work done on our yard and wanted to put the fence in last. The other work got slightly pushed back and they worked with us to change the install schedule and were extremely flexible to our needs. I was unable to be home when they finished they work so they sent someone out when it fit my schedule to help walk me through the training process. They were very patient with both my dogs and myself to make sure that I felt comfortable with the training and said if we have any problems to call. I am extremely pleased with the customer service and the fence is working out great.

You need to get quotes in writing from this company because they changed the quote numerous times—they’ve changed it 5 times on me so far. It went up from the quote to the bill, an additional $750, because they are now charging for things that they said they would throw in for free, such as the training, and doing less work than they said they originally said they would do. They are also charging for 3 sensors inside the home, which was something that they had previously said would be free. They sent someone out to start the installation, who was an hour late. When I questioned them about the additional charges and the training fee, the technician called the office and demanded that I pay up front. However, he would not let me speak with the person in the office who would actually be processing my payment on my debit card. This is not the way that business should be handled. I am disappointed that they are not backing what they said they would do.

***UPDATED*** Jim White the owner personally came out and walked the property and apologized. Amazed that he came out himself to try and clear up issue.

They are fantastic and I recommend them 100 percent. I like their punctuality; they did a nice clean job. Anytime I had any questions they were great about helping you on the phone or you can go to the office. They have monthly emails that they send out and also send things out for specific dogs if they have things that may pertain to a certain dog. I will use them again in the future.

Part II

Our neighbor's dog was getting out of his electric fence.
Continually coming into our yard and beginning to get aggressive with us. He is not neutered.
They contacted their company and the problem was not being solved.
They asked me about ours since our dog does not ever get out. I told them we bought and quot;Invisible Fenceand quot; brand.
They had Invisible Fence come out and their dog has been in his yard ever since.

This report is based upon service since the install. The install itself was fine though they misquoted me with only 1 collar though I had mentioned from the beginning I needed 2. A friend of mine had referred me, and we set out fences on the same frequency so her dogs could visit and my dog could visit her.

Part of their advertising is that you would receive free batteries for a referral. They didn't give my friend the batteries for referring me and didn't give me batteries when I later referred my parents. Their reason with my parents was because they just bought the fence, no collars. They didn't care that I had actually purchased the collar with my own install months before. They were pretty rude about it too.

After this my friend who referred me lost her dog and called them to honor their warranty on this. I was present. They suggested that somehow her ancient dog either removed her own collar and wandered down a steep hill in the pouring rain, or someone removed the collar and drove up said steep hill to steal the ancient dog. They also questioned if she had even changed the batteries on the collar. In the end they told her without the collar (which is of course gone with the dog) they had no proof she had it in working order and wouldn't honor any warranty about it. (I was listening to the phone conversation).

I had called them recently to come flag the fence for a sprinkler install I had done. They never returned my call and I ended up having to buy flags and do it myself. When I did I found that the fenceline doesn't actually follow my property line (just within it) as they said but takes a curvy, meandering course here and there as it goes.

For my parents install their fence apparently was taken out by aerating, which is only a couple inches deep. The company's own guidelines state the wires are to be buried far deeper - they called Invisible Fence, who flat told them they would have to pay for any repairs, even though had the line been at the proper depth and in the proper areas aeration would not have broken it. All in all dealing with this local company has been a mess for all parties involved. I don't know how the corporate offices handle things, but the local franchise honors absolutely nothing after the install. Honestly I'm at a point where I don't see bothering with them for anything - it's not like they will honor any warranties down the road anyway.

We have a very large backyard and wanted to keep it open, yet secure for our one year old puppy. I contacted David to install an invisible fence. He was so kind and patient and described his process in detail. He performed the service efficiently and in the time agreed upon. The reason I gave "quality" a "good" instead of "excellent" was that we have had just a few mechanical glitches in the system. With that said, every time we have had an issue, David has been incredibly helpful and responsive. He is someone that you can definitely count on, which makes all the difference in my opinion.

I wanted to keep my dogs in the yard and give them a little zap on the collar to keep them at a certain point. They rock; they really do a good job. They were here when they said they are going to be here. They know what they are doing. The guy came, he looked around and in less than an hour, he had my entire fence repaired. My fence had been destroyed because we've been taking a lot of trees out. In less than an hour, he assessed the situation, he repaired it and left. He was great.

They did all of the wiring under the house, trenched and laid the wiring. I had already had experience with them and so it was just a quick refresher for my dog who was already trained with them.

Did a very good job for the installation. No sprinklers, TV or phone lines were cut by installer who was very concerned his machine wouldn't cut any lines.

Installation was completed within 2 days of purchasing. Installer arrived on time and was very professional and helpful. I opted to not purchase the professional training of our dog and am reconsidering that decision. I asked the salesperson if the training is difficult, and she correctly told me that it is not difficult. However, it is a little more time consuming than I anticipated ... 20-30 minutes each day for 3 weeks is the recommendation. Only frustration is that our cable line and landscape lighting wire were cut. I had to spend 20 minutes on the phone trying to schedule the cable company to repair the line. Cable company arrived and line is repaired. However, Invisible Fence originally stated that they would repair the landscape light on the following day and still have not come to the house. I had to call a week later to inquire on when the repair will be made. I am now told that a technician will be here in two days.

Polite, more reasonable than a physical fence, and very professional. They provided an in-home training session and training materials. Instructions were very clear and my dogs are safe and doing well. There is no customer support on the weekends, so stay away from the Friday installation or you'll have to wait til Monday for advice.

THE COMPANY WAS EXTREMELY RESPONSIVE TO THE ESTIMATE AND INSTALLATION AND THE WORK WAS COMPETED TO MY SATISFACTION WITH VERY QUICK TURNAROUND. THE BIGGEST ISSUE FOR ME IS THE TRAINING OF MY DOG, WHO BECAME IMMEDIATELY AFRAID OF THE SYSTEM AND I AM WORKING WITH THE COMPANY FOR TRAINING ASSISTANCE. MY ADVICE IS SPEND MORE TIME UP FRONT UNDERSTANDING THE TRAINING OPTIONS.
