John Towery performed the inspection and provided the report. Mr. Towery offered his expertise as he toured our home. His report was thorough. Do not confuse the structural engineering/inspection wing of this business with their Verna Construction. Use this firm for their structural inspection, but not for repairs. Awful experience. Appointment for estimate was July 12th. Estimate was received August 7th, after three phone calls. Don Johnson provided $4,110 estimate to: ''Provide protection of homeowner property and clean up in the repair area,'' Repoint cracks in brick veneer (4), Repair drywall cracks (2) and adjust door, Caulk trim molding in a few areas, Install 2 x 4 braces (2) in attic, Install vapor barrier under house, Apply silicone caulk to two cracks in bathroom, Repair paneling in kitchen, with glue (one spot), Replace thermal vents with standard vents (about 12). We thought the estimate was ridiculously high so we asked that it be itemized. We left a message and a week later we had not heard back from Mr. Johnson. We called the owner, Mr. Verna. Within the hour, Mr. Johnson was complaining to us that we should not have called his boss. We asked for itemization. Three days later we had a check to refund our estimate. Do not recommend!!!

It was 2 weeks before they could come out, but they came out on time and answered all our questions. It was a good experience overall.

I LEFT A MASSAGE REGARDING SERVICE AND THE CALLED BACK THE SAME DAY. JOHN CAME TO MY HOUSE AND DID THE INSPECTION. HE WAS ON TIME AND VERY HONEST OF THE SITUATION. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEIR SERVICES TO ALL MY FRIENDS. THANKS FOR THE GREAT SERVICE.

THE ENGINEER WAS EARLY FOR THE APPOINTMENT AND SPENT AN HOUR AND A HALF UNDER THE HOUSE WITH MY HUSBAND. HE CHECKED THE FOUNDATION AND JOIST SUPPORTS, AND GAVE RECOMMENDATIONS ON HOW TO POSSIBLY FIX THE PROBLEM, WHICH IS COSMETIC. HE ALSO INSPECTED DRAINAGE AND FOUND A SPOT UNDER OUR LIVING ROOM WHICH NEEDS TO HAVE A DRAIN. HE RECOMMENDED A COMPANY TO USE. HE SPENT ADDITIONAL TIME EXPLAINING HOW TO FINISH OUR SCREENED PORCH INTO A SUNROOM. HE WAS WONDERFUL! WE RECEIVED A DETAILED LETTER ABOUT A WEEK LATER WITH HIS FINDINGS AND A LETTER STATING THERE IS NO STRUCTURAL ISSUES (WE MAY BE SELLING THE HOUSE).

THE ENGINEER ASSIGNED TO MY JOB WAS PROMPT, COURTEOUS, AND EXPLAINED THE REVIEW RESULTS VERY WELL. THE SUBSEQUENT WRITTEN REPORT WAS THOROUGH AS WELL. I HAVE USED VERNA BEFORE WITH GOOD RESULTS.

VERNA DID AN EXTREMELY THOROUGH JOB OF INSPECTING BOTH THE HOME AND DETACHED GARAGE. THEY PROVIDED A COMPLETE REPORT, BOTH HARD AND E-COPIES, AND THEY MAPPED OUT THE STRUCTURE DESIGNATING LOAD-BEARING AND PARTITION WALLS AND INSPECTING. ALL QUESTIONABLE AREAS. VERY SATISFIED! I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE.

UTILIZING A CEMENT FOAM MIXTURE, THEY PUMPED IT INTO THE GROUND UNDER THE SLAB TO LIFT THE SLAB. AS THE MIXTURE HARDENED IT EXPANDED AND RAISED THE SLAB TO NEAR ITS ORIGINAL POSITION. PILLARS WERE ALSO DRILLED THROUGH SLAB AND MIXTURE TO THE BEDROCK TO ASSURE NO FUTURE MOVEMENT OF THE SLAB. THIS HOUSE WAS BUILT TO SPEC 40 YEARS AGO. DO NOT KNOW HOW FAIR THE PRICE OF THIS JOB WAS. COULD NOT FIND ANYONE ELSE IN TOWN THAT REALLY KNEW WHAT TO DO IN OUR SITUATION. VERNA WAS THE P.E. FOR THIS JOB AS WELL. DAVE FRAILEY WAS THE PROJECT MANAGER, VERY HELPFUL AS WERE HIS VARIOUS CREWS.

THERE WAS LAG TIME BETWEEN THE INITIAL CONTACT WITH THE COMPANY AND FOLLOW-UP WORK.
