I purchased a new stereo for my wrangler and the wiring harness. I am pretty good with electronics so I tried to install myself.
First problem - the wiring harness was wrong and after splicing, striping and connecting wires for an hour I discovered the port connections weren't right. So I went back to them and they told me it was the wrong harness. The new harness cost me 40 extra bucks.
So I got the new harness, went home, did all the splicing and connecting again, plugged everything in and... radio didn't work. After troubleshooting for a while I finally went back to find out that they gave me the wrong harness AGAIN. The actual harness I needed cost me an additional 60 on top of what I had already paid.
So I got the 3rd harness, wired and everything seemed to be working but then my rear speakers would keep cutting on and off. This ended up being a setting issue in the radio and it cost me another 40 bucks for them to diagnois the problem.
The guys I worked with were great, really apologetic, helped me do a bunch of things that they technically should have charged for but didn't because of all their mistakes. But in the end it took me 3 days to get everything right and was just aggrevating. Mistakes happen, but doesn't mean I wasn't fraustrated.
