My wife was the one home to handle this service call and she indicated that as soon as the technician came in he was much more interested in our garage door opener than in the broken spring. He spent quite a bit of time explaining to my wife all of the things that were wrong with our opener and informing her that we should replace it. He apparently went over this multiple times while with her while there.
He also spent quite a bit of time "messing" with the garage door opener. Testing it, greasing it, and adjusting it. I understand that the stop points may need to be adjusted with the new springs but I don't understand why anything more needed to be done to it.
Less than 1 hour after the technician leaves and the opener doesn't work anymore. We were able to get it to function a few times that day when testing but as of this morning the screw is completely seized and won't even turn when the door is unlocked from the screw.
When I called the company and explained this, and that we were highly displeased with the technician and the results of this interaction we were met with "well that can happen" and "we can send the same guy back out". No apology, no sympathy, no attempt at all to make it right.
Overall I can't recommend doing business with this company, and I will not be doing any business with them in the future. If you do choose to do business with them I would make sure you watch the technician the entire time they are working on your garage door and request that they only perform the service that you have requested of them.
