"Thanks so much [Member Name Removed]We hope you are enjoying the new house and greatly appreciate your taking time out to review Fox Brothers. We will see you again soon :)"
"[Member name removed], I think you may have Fox Brothers confused with another company. I went back through our invoices as well as payments and do not show a [Member name removed] or any flooring/painting project close to the cost you listed. An Angie's List Rep will be contacting you to discuss. Thanks [Member name removed]"
They were easy to schedule, polite, and prompt to arrive. While they worked quickly, I felt like they took some short cuts. They didn't cover the floors/furniture while they hung the drywall. Not a big deal, but I was told they would. They didn't put plastic over doorways until they sanded - would have been nice to have that done from the start to keep the dust out of the other rooms. They also used one of my light fixture boxes for their waste mud despite it having parts and paperwork inside. We also found we had to monitor their work closely because they dry walled over three electrical boxes and didn't fully cut out two drain clean outs. Luckily, we noted where everything was so they could correct this.
Overall the dry wall looks good - the big let down was the priming and touch up. Again, nothing was protected prior to painting, and an area were missed. While they did clean up the over spray, I feel like the service wasn't that valuable and I probably could have done just as well myself. I'm not sure the touch up was worth it either because we still have areas where the dry wall bulges from being cut too small, moves from being under secured, and a poor patch job.
Dan was very apologetic about the mishaps that occurred. And really, if it was only or two of these things, I'd be more understanding. But when taken into consideration together, it becomes disappointing. If I were to do it again, I would just hire out the install, tape and mud and be sure to monitor more closely.
The only issue was some miscommunication at the beginning. Matt came out to the house, took measurements, then emailed us a quote. Once we emailed back, we didn't hear from them. As it turned out, it was an email issue.
The guys came in and knocked it out in no time! I am very pleased with the look.
Thanks Fox Brothers!

"Thank you for taking the time to review our company EH. It was a pleasure working with you and we look forward to working with you on your counter top installation and cement floor acid etching. Have a great holiday!"
"[Removed member's name], Dan, the owner, did offer you a 10% discount for being a repeat customer at the start of your project. After your painting project was just about completed, you decided that you did not like to colors you chose for your master bedroom. Dan had our in house color consultant come to you home, right away, (at no charge), to help you to choose a color you would be happy with. He then explained he could either repaint that area for free OR charge you for the repaint and give you 10% off the total project. You chose the FREE repainting as it ended up being more of a savings for you. Fox Brothers greatly appreciates all of our repeat customer business and we work hard to make sure we show our appreciation by offering repeat customer discounts. Fox Brothers is competitive with our pricing, and I apologize that we can not afford to combine free repainting along with a 10% discount."
They are meeting us at the new house tomorrow to estimate some flooring and painting which we hope to have done before my Mom moves in. And we'll definitely call them to paint our house before it goes on the market in the next few months.
"(removed member name), Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to work with you again this year. We greatly appreciate your business and thank you for taking the time to review Fox Brothers. We look forward to working with you on future projects. Sincerely, The Fox Brothers Team"
"[removed member name], Thank you for taking the time to review Fox Brothers. We do apologize for any confusion and are glad we all finally realized the problem was not paint related in the bathroom, but instead was a ventilation issue causing excessive water beading on the walls. It should have been figured out sooner since the same paint was used in other bathrooms in your home and showed no issues, so for that we are very sorry. We are happy that it all worked out and the issue is resolved and do look forward to hearing from you again for your future projects."
I called the company back to quote us a deck and screened porch. I made sure to be at home for the scheduled appointment time and no one from Fox Brothers showed up or called to let me know they weren't coming. My time is valuable too. I will not be using this company in the future.
"[Removed Member Name], I sincerely apologize for the missed appointment. It is completely and totally my fault alone. When you called to schedule the appointment for us to meet to estimate your screen porch and deck, our scheduling system was going through an update. I did note the appointment in my copy book, but forgot to transfer it into the scheduling system once the update was completed. Therefore, it never showed up on Dan's calendar. That was the reason for the no call in addition to the no show. He never knew he was to meet with you. I do appreciate that your time is extremely valuable and you have my sincere apology. I am so sorry for the aggravation and complete inconvenience my mistake caused you. It wasn't until reading your review that I realized my terrible over site of the missed appointment. Again, this mistake was solely my mistake and not in any way a reflection of Dan's work ethic or the work ethic of Fox Brothers. I will be in touch to see what needs to be taken care of as far as your warranty issue and I hope that you will not hold our company or owner responsible for my mistake. Thank you."
"[member name removed], Our schedule of meetings is as follows and is the sole reason we did not paint the 1 room until 5-12-14. 9-14-13; You purchased the $99 1 room paint special 9-16-13; We met with you and estimated several rooms for painting per your request (est. amount $1,130.00) *Above estimate was not approved. 9-27-13; Met with you again per your request to measure two more rooms for painting (est. amount $355.65) *Above estimate not accepted. 3-24-14; 3rd trip out to meet with you per your request to measure additional rooms for painting and measure and quote for flooring for entire 1st floor. (Est. amount $6,000 +) *Above quote not accepted. Between 3-24-14 and 4-20-14; Per your request the above estimate was broken down 3 separate ways and sent to you for your approval. ** No estimates were approved. In the beginning of May- I received a call from you asking to schedule yet another appointment for our project Manager to come out to measure 1 room that we had not yet measured. We explained to you at this point that the $99 coupon was at this point, and had been for some time, expired and that we would only be able to give you the $99 credit (for the actual amount paid) towards the cost to paint. It was very obvious through your tone and verbiage used, that you were extremely unhappy with this information. Again, your coupon was purchased on 9-14-13, we met with you 3 times and worked up a total of 6 different estimates for you between that time and May of 2014. Your coupon expired 2 months prior to your final request for a 7th estimate. We came out to measure this 1 room for you on May12th and brought a small paint crew so we could complete the project if the total was acceptable. OUr project Manager measured the room, created the estimate and deducted the $99 (value of the coupon), leaving a $99.90 balance. At the time our project manager was working on the estimate for you, our paint crew began to prep the one room for painting (moving and covering furniture, drop clothing the area ect). When you heard there was going to be a $99.90 balance to be paid, you threatened to throw our crew out of your house and became irate. After speaking with the project manager and our company's owner, you agreed to the project. You had even apologized to our project manager later that day over the phone and said that you did understand that the coupon had expired and the fault was yours for waiting too long and even went so far as to joke about NOT leaving us a bad review on Angie's List. All of our customers are important to us and we treat all customers with the utmost respect. Both positive and negative reviews allow a company to learn and grow, however I am not sure what our project manager, crew or staff could have done any differently to make this experience better for you. If you would like to discuss this, please feel free to call me (Tracy) at (704)576-7145. We do appreciate your business and apologize for making you feel that we did not work hard enough for you to earn a good review."
"[Removed Member Name], We thank you for your review of our company and happy to hear that you are happy with the completed look of the project. I do apologize, however, for the time it took to have this project scheduled. We did our best to keep up with the demand for the 1 room paint special in terms of scheduling the projects. With around 50-60 purchases, we did have to schedule out a bit and for that we do apologize. We have taken steps to better prepare ourselves for the scheduling of future specials we offer to Angie's List members. Fox Brothers appreciates you taking the time to review our company. It is your feedback that allows us to grow as a company."
The first thing that impressed me was the quality of the customer service when I called to inquire about the job. Tracey answered all my questions and was extremely helpful. The second thing that impressed me was the detailed estimate that Matt provided. The written estimate was divided by the area of the house, i.e; front , left side, right side and rear. Had a column for quantity, unit price and total. The crew was on time, professional and answered all my questions. Once the job was done, Matt and I did a walk around and we used the estimate as a checklist for services provided. Clean up after was a plus as well. I highly recommend Fox Brothers and will certainly use them again.
