Joanie has been awesome to work with. We have now used her twice for 2 different homes and her vision and advice has been spot on. She does a great job of getting to know her clients and their esthetic and then giving consultation based on that, not just what she likes or prefers. Her responsive is literally within minutes and she has been so flexible with times. Whether you just want advice on color schemes, where furniture should go, or a complete redesign, Joanie is the person to go. She also let me know when I was about to make a mistake (the paint color I was leaning towards would have been way too dark for the space) and then suggested alternatives. It was wonderful working with Joanie, and I would definitely hire her again for my interior design needs. We just purchased a home and she helped us pick out an entire color palette for our home...in just 90 minutes! This would have taken me months to do, and I still would not have been confident in the color choice. She did an excellent job listening to what we wanted, while also recommending colors I would not have selected. She was an expert on picking up on the color undertones that I personally do not have an eye for, and helped us create a fresh, balanced palette. She was also available for any questions and was willing to serve as point of contact with our painter. Her service was professional, friendly, and trusted.

We initially met with Joanie McGrath in May of 2016 at our house. My father had passed away and we planned to move into his house after doing a complete redecorating.  Joanie is a very easy to work with type of person, great personality with high energy. We spent time talking about what we liked in a house and answering many questions she had.  Immediately the ideas from her started flowing as to what we could do.  She had a complete list of recommended contractors to work with on every phase of the project. She went with us to the flooring and window treatment contractor to view samples and then to a local design center to consider tile, paint color palate, countertop (granite and quartz) and how it would all work together and flow throughout the house.  We replaced the old carpet and flooring with hardwood flooring throughout the house. She saved us from having to replace the oak kitchen cabinets and bathroom cabinets by picking a darker hardwood flooring that contrasted nicely with them. The all white walls were painted in a palate of shades of grays and blue green (master bedroom) that significantly improved the overall appeal of our house. Joanie was very hands on in directing our contractors in their work and if something wasn't done quite right, she got them to correct it right now! The actual work started the first of July and ran through November.   Along the way we replaced light fixtures and cabinet and door hardware to update and get rid of the old the brass fixtures, replacing with brushed nickel, etc. We had closet systems put in all the closets that came out fantastic. She helped us with a local appliance store to replace all the kitchen appliances with fabulous new brushed steel appliances that looked great with the new quartz countertops and existing cabinets. One of our bathrooms was just a smaller powder room which she helped us pick out just the right copper sink to set off the room. Last phase was picking out new furniture and again her suggestions were right on the mark for our dining room, family room and master bedroom. Along the way in this project, Joanie was always asking our opinion and helped us take advantage of discounts on items and materials and making sure contractor pricing was fair and work done properly.

My wife and I are thrilled with the outcome of this whole project and there was no way she and I could have done it nearly as well without Joanie.  The overall project was expensive but well worth the investment in our home.  My wife and I highly recommend Joanie's interior design services for projects such as ours.

Joanna is very professional. Helped me rearrange my living room and home office to make it feel more open with the furniture we already had. She is very responsive , for instance I texted her after our appointment and she replied right away with answers to my questions. I highly recommend her. I needed a new set of eyes on my home and she helped greatly. My whole family feels better in the spaces she helped with. The children are really enjoying their desk area in the dormer area. We put 2 up there. My office looks so much better and feels less crowded and our main room although very small feels much bigger. Thank you Joanna. Hope to get the basement started soon. We met with Joanie on 2/1/2016 and went over the various rooms I needed help on.  Joanie left to do her research and called back later that day if we can meet at Ethan Allen the next day to look at some of the things she found.  We decided on everything we needed that day to purchase for the master bedroom, family room, and screened porch, including the rugs for kitchen and foyer.  She referred us to ScreenMobile for the screened porch solar shades and Carolina Custom Garages for the garage/laundry solution.
 
Joanie is great to work with and is open to expressing her thoughts on things you've done around the house if you ask.  She is fast, responsive, and was fair with the cost of her service.  I would not hesitate to use Joanie again for any future needs.

Joanie was prompt and professional.  She helped us see various things we could do to update our 1989 home.  Lots of ideas!  We are a bit challenged in the decorating arena, so it was very helpful to have a professional give us some advice.  She gave us things to think about that we would never have thought of.  i.e. Painting kitchen cabinets vs. installing new ones, how to update hall bathroom, lighting options in kitchen, kitchen flooring. She did not have an agenda of her own.  We would recommend her.

I told Joanie I was embarrassed to invite people into my home and I would like it to be serene and more filled with light.  I also had to admit I have no sense of design, I'm messy and have 2 messy dogs and 2 messy kids.  She listened closely to what I wanted and came up with great ideas.  Joanie is so full of energy and positive attitude that she and I were able to transform the rooms in 2 appointments, making my house a place I am proud to have people over.  Even my kids and dogs are thrilled!

It went okay. I would've liked to have had the cabinetry we discussed penciled in on the diagram I sent her, in order to clarify the details of our phone consultation. I've also yet to hear back on a color discussion we were having. She was good, however. She was very succinct and to-the-point. She didn't focus too much on what we actually wanted, but more on what she felt was best. Be prepared to have adequate pictures and a very clear idea on what you want. Overall, it was a good experience, and she gave a senior discount, which was a plus. She does what she says she'll do, and she's prompt.
