When a huge tree limb punched a hole in our roof, I knew who to call. Vince Busby of Distinctive Building Services is the only General Contractor I will call in the Charlotte area. He remodeled my whole house several years ago and I knew I could trust him to fix several of the rafters which were broken on our roof as well as make sure the repair matched the rest of the shingles. Within a few hours of the limb falling on the roof, his crew was there to patch it until the final repairs could be made and they even hauled away the debris from the tree. He then came back on another day and met with the insurance adjuster to make sure all aspects of the repair were accounted for and provided me with a detailed estimate for the insurance company. I got the money I needed to make the repairs and now that it's done you can't even tell there was any damage. You can trust Distinctive Building Services to provide you with quality workmanship at a fair price. They know what they're doing, they get it done in a timely manner, and they clean up after themselves. In addition to major home repairs, I know they handle all kinds of remodeling including Kitchens and Bathrooms, Additions, Attic and Basement Conversions, Screened-in Porches, etc. I interviewed many other contractors before choosing Distinctive Building Services to remodel my home. It was one of the best decisions I've ever made! Don't bother calling anyone else. Once you work with Distinctive Building Services, you won't want any other contractor in your home. I guess that's why this business has survived the economic downturn while many other remodeling contractors have gone out of business. Once a customer, always a customer. A business built on referrals. Vince Busby and the professionals at Distinctive Building Services are the only people in the Charlotte area that I would recommend for major home repairs and remodeling.

Distinctive Building Services were recommended to us by a friend. From the initial contact, we have thoroughly enjoyed the entire process of this remodel. Vince Busby, the owner, and his crew were EXCELLENT in their follow-up and meeting with us to design our new kitchen. He worked with us to keep some of the existing cabinetry and listened to our ideas on what we desired for a unique and one-of-a-kind granite table and island area. He more than exceeded our expectations in making that happen. His work was done on time and exactly by the deadline we agreed on. His costs were less than some of our quotes and there were no hidden costs throughout the process. The quality of work was EXCELLENT, and Vince himself was on site much of the time to oversee the work and often doing the work himself. He actually did more than we had asked him to and always went the extra mile with no additional cost. He offered his designer to come and help with color selection and expertise at his cost, which was much appreciated. His crew were a delight to have in the house and kept the construction area clean and orderly. They were prompt each morning and communicated their schedule to us each day, so we didn't have to guess when they'd be there. We would highly recommend Distinctive Building Services for any job, large or small. We will definitely be using them again.

Helped turn a large closet into a bar. It took some time but mostly because we had to wait a long time for the cabinets, not because of this contractor. Finished product exceeded expectations.

It took a while to get the work done but that was largely due to the large amount of rain that was received. The company was good about letting things dry out before painting. They came when they said they would and only finished the job when we were completely satisfied.

I was referred to Distinctive Building Services by one of my neighbors who used them to build a bar in their basement. I was impressed with the quality of their workmanship and attention to detail. I had already met with several other builders but none of them were comfortable with raising the roof and reconfiguring the HVAC system which proved to be a big challenge. Vince, the owner of Distinctive Building Services, has been in the construction business for more than 25 years and he knew just how to deal with these issues. Vince helped me work through the design challenges and prioritize the project to make sure I made changes that added value to my home. We were able to keep the project within budget and I feel we really got value for the dollars spent. I now have a professional-style kitchen with all the bells and whistles, granite countertops throughout the home, a Rinnai on-demand water heater, new tile in all the bathrooms and a much-improved floorplan. Working with Vince and his team of professionals was an absolute joy. He is very easy to talk to and when problems were discovered, as is to be expected with an older home, he was able to come up with cost-effective solutions. His level of integrity was a refreshing change of pace from many contractors I have worked with in the past. Vince and his team made sure to keep the worksite clean and safe for my small children. The project was completed as scheduled and Vince was very accommodating when it came to last-minute design changes. He did not charge exorbitant fees to make those changes happen. His sub-contractors are top-notch professionals and they all worked together like a well-oiled machine. Vince was very easy-going when it came to making draws on the project and I didn't feel like I was constantly being asked for money. He was able to save me thousands of dollars on finish materials by sending me to wholesale suppliers whenever possible. I can't say enough good things about Distinctive Building Services and would not hesitate to recommend them for any remodeling or home improvement project.
