I have worked with DeHaan painting on two projects over the past year. My assessment is that they are the “pros that the pros call” when they want a professional, respectful, and fairly priced painting project done. I have used DeHaan Painting for popcorn ceiling removal, wallpaper removal, ceiling repair, wall resurfacing, and whole house interior painting. Every person that I interacted with — from the president, to the office staff, to the project manager, to each painter— worked diligently to make my tired 24 year-old home into a fresh new home. They are respectful of your time and your budget and treat your home as if it was their own. These are the people to call for all your painting needs!

The Dehaan company was recommended to me by another painter who was referred to me by my carpenter, but was too busy to work with me. I couldn’t be happier to have been directed to them. Everything went smooth as silk. Tonya was great to work with on the scheduling end even though I had to change the start date four times over a space of two months. Jason and Tania spent over two days prepping - cleaning, sanding, taping, covering - before priming my cabinets. I was amazed at the amount of work that went into it. The rest of the paint crew - Eric, Sylvia, and Justin - exercised the same care in prepping and painting the trim, paneling and window frames. I thank all those folks and the rest of the crew - Leyton the project manager and Matt the owner - for their parts in turning out what I think is a beautiful kitchen. I will definitely call on them again.

Great! I was referred to DeHaan by the contractor who was installing the front door unit. He said they were the best, and they were! Nia, who manages the office, was extremely knowledgeable and helpful throughout the process. She suggested the "painter for a day" as the most efficient and economical choice. Everything was clearly spelled out in the contract, which was sent via email. Brandon, our painter for the day, worked diligently to complete the assigned tasks. The quality of his work was excellent. I will definitely use DeHaan for future painting needs.

We used Dehaan for painting our outside deck at our lake house. We could not be more pleased. Nia communicates extremely well, helped with color choice and scheduled our painting. The team arrived on time each day and finished on schedule. I highly recommend them!!!

I hired DeHaan Painting to remove about 1,500 sq ft of popcorn ceilings from my house before we moved in. Matt came over to access the scope and measure and he was very professional and seemed like an all around good guy. I read all the reviews on Angie's List about them and they are all true that they do really great work. Their office administrator, Nia Danner, was especially helpful with communication ranging from setting up the job to status updates on the work throughout the week. The process took about 5 days. They scraped the popcorn off, resurfaced any uneven spots or places where there might have been a water leak years ago and then painted. The look of the house was improved immediately. DeHaan Painting does great work and they are very professional and organized, I would definitely hire them again for any future painting or drywall related projects. Hire these guys, you won't be disappointed!

Our experience with Matt (owner) and his Dehaan Painting crew was excellent. To start, Matt is very responsive through email, which was greatly appreciated. After walking our house, he provided some great recommendations on how to do things the RIGHT way (bath and spa paint for the bathrooms to resist, sanding built-ins before repainting and using oil based paint, sheen recs, etc). He was still very honest and quoted me some lower cost options for paint options, but we took his recommendations and we don't regret it. The crew was in our house for 3 days in a row. It was a pleasant surprise to come home every evening and find our house CLEAN. They were very considerate and piled their tools/paint up in one corner of the house, out of the way, and cleaned up after themselves. Very professional group of people. Finally, after the great experience, it is no surprise that we are just as please with the high quality result. We canvased every wall and found nothing more than a few small smudges that were touched up the last morning. Nothing on the project list was missed and no errors were made. We will likely have a Phase 2 of painting next year, and I will not even waste time getting other quotes. Going straight back to Matt for the job. Other comments: Dehaan painting seems to be in high demand already, there was an original month wait estimate and then a few more delays due to projects in line before me taking longer than expected. Not pointing this out as a negative, more just an FYI. If anything, it is a testament to the demand for his quality work. As far as price, I feel Matt's quote was in-line. I received some way higher, but some lower. Conclusion: Hire Dehaan Painting, no one else

I think that says it all. People telling other about the tremendous job we do day in and day out. I like to say we specialize in mid to high end, occupied homes. Others can certainly come do it cheaper, but they won't treat your home as a place that people need to live at the end of the day. We appreciate your kind words and look forward to any interior and/or exterior painting you have at your home! In regards to schedule, you said it...planning ahead to get us is especially important. We don't just send in whoever we can find...we finish our jobs to a high level before we leave a job and then move to the next one using skilled tradesman that work with the company consistently... Matt and his team did a fantastic job! They took care to be sure the exterior was properly prepped to collect and dispose of any paint chips (old home = lead based paint) and the new paint job is stunning! He also repainted the back screened porch to a crisp white to match new exterior trim. The inside needed some real love to bring the doors and trim back to their glory in fresh white paint (I think there were probably 5 different shades of cream throughout the house on trim)! Matt was responsive, professional, and very communicative throughout the process, a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend him and his team for any paint job you are considering in your home.

Matt DeHaan and his team did a phenomenal job. From the start (when we engaged Billy Joe and Montie at Upcycle Designs to design the paint schema in our new home) to the end when we did a walk-through with Matt and team, the experience was great. Matt is hands-on and a part of the painting team, which was a nice touch compared to some other outfits that bid jobs then outsource the labor. The price was neither the lowest nor highest bid we received, but was a good deal considering the work involved and the professional work. I would highly recommend DeHaan Painting for folks looking for high-quality painting at a fair price. The painting was flawless (no noticable brush strokes/streaks, overpainting, splotches, etc.) and we have had no issues since the painting was completed 7 months ago.

What a difference a few cans of paint makes. Most of the walls in our home were a neutral yellow when we moved in (which looked great with the prior owner's furniture, but drove me crazy with ours). Matt and crew did a great job, and we love our new (crack-free) wall colors! Matt and his crew were pleasant, easy to work with, did quality work, and we had a great experience all around.
The estimate for the work was free. When I was expressing some anxiety about picking final colors, Matt put us in contact with local interior designers he does a lot of work with that did a color consult with us to make sure we were happy with the colors we chose before the paint was bought and any work was done. When the work was complete, Matt made sure we were happy with what was done.

Throughout the entire process, Matt was very responsive, personable and professional. Matt & his crew arrived actually early for our appointment and completed within the time expected. The crew also cleaned up after themselves. We only got one other estimate, but his price was definitely more reasonable for the work being completed.

Matt showed up with 2 other people to repair my ceiling in my family room.

DeHaan Painting did a wonderful job. The crew was very professional and courteous and interacted with us frequently to make sure we were satisfied. They were very careful to keep the house clean, using drop cloths and sealing off adjacent rooms to ensure paint didn't get into areas of the house unintentionally. The paint job was incredible, and we intend to have them back for some exterior painting as well. An added bonus was that everybody spoke English and they were just nice people to have in our home.

Great! Matt and his team arrived on time and pressure washed the first day and then returned to apply the stain/paint. Matt mixed colors to achieve the desired look, tested the resulting colors before applying, and once I was satisfied, applied two coats. The application was even and clean. His team was efficient, did a great job, and cleaned up. They worked on consecutive days as appropriate (had to wait a couple of days for wood to dry after pressure washing). My deck, gazebo, patio and window boxes look fantastic! And Matt followed up with me a few days after the work was completed to be sure I was satisfied. The quality of work was exceptional, but more over the service and personal attention went well above my expectations.
