We hired DCI to redesign the kitchen in our condo, order and install new countertops and cabinetry, and provide new hardware and plumbing fixtures. We wanted our kitchen to be brighter, have a contemporary, open look, with more storage space. Kaity Slaughter created a fantastic design that was exactly what we wanted, and for less than we had budgeted. We especially appreciated the fact that she didn’t try to up-sell us. Kaity is an absolutely wonderful person to work with, always cheerful, enthusiastic, and very knowledgeable. She has an eye for detail and picked up on problems caused by structures in our condo that were not in square. She came up with solutions that made everything fit together perfectly. During construction Kaity visited our worksite on numerous occasions to insure that everything was being done according to plan, and she coordinated with the contractor who we had hired to reconfigure walls and do the plumbing and electrical work.
We couldn’t be more pleased with our new kitchen. We plan to remodel our bathroom and will definitely use Kaity for that project. We highly recommend DCI and Kaity Slaughter.

The design process went well. DCI recommended a contractor and he turned out to be great. Once the kitchen was almost done, the customer service by Carol Lindell (also the owner) at DCI pretty much ended. We had a serious issue with the very expensive range that we bought through DCI and to this day it has not been resolved. (A year later!) My calls are not returned, emails are not responded to, and on the off chance that she answers the phone, she promises a follow up, only to never hear from her again. One of the doors on the Blue Star range was "tampered with" in order to make it work in our kitchen and we were never told about this until we noticed that it would not close properly.  The Blue Star Rep acknowledged that it had been tampered with and could not be fixed properly.  The range was also dented and banged up upon arrival and we were coerced into keeping it - told that the delivery process can be h****** the ranges.  We paid almost $8000 for this range and it has scratched and bent parts, it bangs loudly when it heats up and the door still doesn't seal completely.   We love our kitchen overall but the service we have received is terrible. We have told everyone we know to go elsewhere for kitchen remodels or appliances. It is now February 2015 and no response.

Carol at DCI was a joy to work with. She personally walked us through the entire process of a large project. The project involved complete demolition and remodel of a 20 year old kitchen. DCI provided design/installation services for the cabinets, countertops, and lighting. They also were able to provide some excellent references for contractors used for electrical, flooring and backsplash installation. Carol set expectations early in the process and did an excellent job of walking us through the logistics of the project. She was a single point of contact for much of the project and help coordinate getting the right people in at the right time. Carol also did an excellent job of breaking down all of the costs so we knew in advance exactly what we were getting into financially. We had very few changes to the original costs projections and those were due to upgrades that we initiated.
We are ecstatic with the results! From demolition to completion of the project took about 6 weeks and our kitchen is now our favorite room the house! Obviously, we would highly recommend Carol and DCI to anyone looking to embark on a kitchen or bath remodel!

They were great to work with. They even referred us to a great company to do the installation!

A FEW COMMENTS: THEY DID NOT INSURE THAT THE GENERAL CONTRACTORS TOOK GREAT CARE TO KEEP THE WORK AREA CONTAINED AND CLEAN. EXAMPLE: THEY DID NOT PUT PLASTIC ON THE DOORWAYS AND SPENT A DAY SANDING COVERING THE WHOLE LOWER LEVEL WITH DUST! YUCK! DCI WAS VERY OPEN TO SUGGESTIONS THOUGH. THE PROJECT IS NOT COMPLETE YET AND WAS DELAYED 6 WEEKS DUE TO MISORDERS MADE WHICH IS WHY WE GAVE THEM A B ON PUNCTUALITY. OVERALL A VERY POSITIVE EXPERIENCE THOUGH!

EXCELLENT DESIGN. FELT NEED TO REVIEW WORK ON A DAILY BASIS TO ENSURE THINGS WOULD BE DONE PROPERLY. EVERYTHING ON SCHEDULE AND EXCELLENT COMMUNICATION EARLY PHASES. THEN SERIOUS SLIPPAGE. MOST BY DCI PEOPLE, NOT SUBS. WE BEGAN TO GET IMPRESSION OUR JOB CAME LAST. CABINET INSTALLATION WAS PARTICULARLY SLOW. THE JOB END PUNCH LIST SEEMED TO TAKE FOREVER. DCI PROJECT MANAGEMENT DEGENERATED TO MAKING EXCUSES FOR NOT GETTING JOB DONE. THE PROJECT MGR NEVER CAME TO JOB AFTER CABINETRY WAS DELIVERED. STILL HASN''T SEEN END RESULTS WEEKS LATER. NOTE: DCI REMODELED OUR KITCHEN SEVERAL YEARS AGO AND EARNED EXCELLENT GRADES. THIS JOB DID NOT MEET OUR HIGH EXPECTATIONS WHICH THEY SET IN THE KITCHEN JOB THEY DID FOR US. THEY STILL HAVE AN EXCELLENT PRODUCT. WE SUGGEST A COMBINATION OF DCI DESIGN and CABINETRY and ANOTHER REMODELER. MANAGEMENT FEE EXCESSIVE FOR SERVICES PERFORMED.

WORKED W/ CAROL LINDELL. VERY PLEASED W/ THE RESULTS. GENERALLY VERY POSITIVE EXPERIENCE. ONE NEGATIVE: RECOMMENDED REMODELER DID NOT COME UP TO CAROL'S VERY HIGH EXPECTATIONS BUT DID V. GOOD JOB OF ENSURING THAT REMODELER DID WHAT HE HAD BEEN CONTRACTED.
