This went horribly. This was a former rental house that I was putting up for sale and needed curb appeal. Matt Childers owns the company. He asked for $200 upfront for materials (seed?) which I never had a landscape contractor do before. I got his name off of angies list. He never made the bed around the tree to the left front of my house. He never made the bed of rocks to prevent water build up near the left front facing side of the house. Most of all he did not aerate and seed, he just threw down seed. He called me and said it was done and asked for payment. My mistake to pay him based on his assertion that he did it. When I came to the house during the day time, I saw he never aerated as there were no plugs. He lied to me. He tried to take advantage of me. He thought he could just throw down seed without aeration and get away with it. When I called him he said the ground was too hard so I couldn't see it and it almost broke his machine but he did it. I told him he should have told me that before I paid him. My angie's list contractor working on the house itself told me the ground was not aerated and he called Mr. Childers. Mr. Childers told him he dusted up the ground. The contractor said he left food for the birds. My contractor got another landscape company called Smoak Landscape to come out. Smoak Landscape aerated and seeded my lawn. A member of my family called Childers and he said he would return the money. I paid $190 for seeding and aeration and $220 for the beds. He only gave $75 back claiming he spend $115 on seed and lime. I shouldn't have to pay him to throw seed away. The seed was no good to me without aeration. I was forced to pay another company to seed and aerate again. I have pictures of his work and their work. You can't tell me the ground is too hard to aerate when another company did it successfully. I want all of my money back and I am going to make sure I get it.

"After receiving acceptance of the proposed bid, I showed up to begin and half the scope of work had already been completed by someone else. This eliminated the majority of labor/profit. After purchasing and supplying 40 lbs of seed, 80 lbs of starter fertilizer, 80 lbs of lime, 8 bales of pine needles, 1 flat of pansies, 40 lbs of potting soil and a bag of pine bark mulch. I then invested 6 hrs moving and re-stacking rocks and spreading pine needles. Another 3 hrs were spent planting flowers and trying to aerate the frontyard. Not to mention spreading the seed, fertilizer and lime. The aeration was unsuccessful so I refunded $75.00. I didn’t charge the customer for the work she claimed that wasn’t completed. That phase was left out do to the confusing of someone else doing a portion of each phase that I bid on I also mowed the lawn and wasn’t compensated for that. I consider this issue resolved."

If I still had a lawn I would continue using him. He was always willing to hear my ideas and concerns. He had a good eye for landscape and did a good job on my lawn.
