I would not recommend using this contractor for any work needed to be done. The prices quoted were competitive, but aside from receiving the quote, the time between hiring and having to fire the contractor was extremely stressful. Communication was unacceptable; there were too many days where my wife and I were told “I am on my way,” or “I will definitely be there today to finish that,” only to not show up, have no communication that no workers will be showing up, or receive any apology or explanation for not showing up. There were too many days of critical work being partially completed, and being left undone for days. Having small children in the home that is being worked on, there were constant safety concerns (exposed wires, screws and nails being left on the floor for days) that were not addressed for days. My two year old was shocked more than once because of live outlet wires not properly cared for. The painting and flooring done were not done with care and concern. Minimal taping was done, and we had several items of clothing get paint drops because our property was not covered with drop cloths. Walls were painted without smoothing walls properly, and coats were applied too quickly, causing bubbling in the painting. Laminate Vinyl Plank Flooring was installed, and there are 8-10 gaps and uneven laying of planks. A total project cost of over $10,000 and we did not at all feel prioritized or valued. When deadlines for promised work completion passed, there were no apologies or urgency to complete. After one promised deadline came and went with work undone, we had to repeatedly contact and ask for work to be finished. We did not have work completed with this company because having work done in a home that is being lived in cannot be done the way this company handled this job. It was stressful to be promised work will be done, and do have no communication or have anyone show up repeatedly. Work being completed one or two days a week, while leaving a house unusable in areas being worked (kitchens, bathrooms) was a hardship on our home. Upon speaking with the owner to determine a final price on work paid, I was also told that finishing molding for the flooring was “not included in the price quoted,” even though it was discussed specifically and agreed upon. There was also an attempt to overcharge because painters did not use the correct color paint on certain areas of the house.
Response from Charlotte Residential Services
"[Member Name Removed], I am so sorry this has happened. I was the previous owner of CRS and Garrett Parker was a trusted employee and someone I considered a friend. In May I sold the business to him so that the company could continue on in good health to my past clients. This has very much not happened and I am deeply upset. We were to complete a 6 month transfer time and it has not gone smoothly. Not that it matters to your experience but Garrett has also defaulted on our contract and defrauded me in conditions of said contract. I have heard pretty much the same comments and sentiment from a few other clients. I did all I could to try and address with Garrett. Asking if he needed my help on jobs and more. I would like if I could speak to you direct once more to get further details of your experience. To note, Garrett Parker also operates under the business name Blue Skye Builders LLC. You may want to review that business as well in attempt to protect others. Again, my deepest apologies. I know we spoke back on 11-16-17 and I tried, and had been trying, to contact Garrett since beginning October. He has avoided all contact with me and I fear I now must proceed in the legal arena. I personally went to his residence on 11-19-17 to ask we get together. At that time he was receptive to me and I thought any little tiff we were having to be put to rest. But as he did not, again, show up or contact me regarding getting together to resolve in more detail I can see he has only gone further off the rails. I don't know what has happened to him. If I could have made your experience better I would have. But my hands are and were tied up to this point. Greg Fogle"

The punch list from the home inspection prior to us moving it wasn't completed.  Charlotte Residential Services were contacted to come out the day after we moved in.  From the minute they arrived until they were done they were nothing but professionals and gentlemen.

While they were performing their work they took the time to answer questions I had about other areas in the house I was thinking of having work done.  They provided straight answers on what needed to be fixed and what wasn't worth the time.  They also were straight about what work they weren't able to perform and offered up recommendations for other companies.

We have an active two year old so being able to put up the baby gates was important to my wife and I.  We were very appreciative that they stayed late on Friday evening (after business hours) to complete that for us.

Charlotte Residential Services will be our first call for any work we need completed around the house!

Great! I had a long list of repairs that needed to be done at a rental house I own. Greg has been doing work for me for several years. He is very professional, punctual and is very picky - his work is always of the highest quality. I own 8 rental houses and don't call anyone but Greg to do my work. He has done a lot of work for me over the last years including solving some electrical problems, doing some very nice tile work. He is good to offer money saving tips on repairs and offered some great ideas on remodeling that I hadn't thought of. I would highly recommend him.
