We saw the commercial for Jacuzzi Bath remodeling. We wanted the bathtub taken out and a shower stall installed. When I called the number provided, I was connected with Carolina Home Remodeling. I was familiar with this business as they installed the sunroom that was added to our home in 2008. It took 6-7 weeks for them to schedule the install in October. The install is horrible. The walls are not plum and the installer added a 2x4 to one wall that was far beyond the existing wall. The painter had to come out a second time as the walls where he muddled the seams were very rough, he told us that the initial installer installed the 2x4 improperly, when the installer came out a 2nd time, he argued with us that it was not his fault and denied that he had installed the 2x4 and did not fix the problem. The company sent a technician out. He said the original walls were the problem. We are still waiting 2mo later for resolution. Filing a BBB complaint. Not happy at all.

We had a walk-in shower replaced in July 2022. The company prides itself on excellent customer service, which was very evident from the estimate process through the installation. The company called and emailed repeatedly following the installation, asking for a review. I originally gave them a 5 star rating when they asked for a response upon completion, completely based on the positive and professional attitudes of everyone we dealt with. When they again requested a more detailed review, I sent an email outlining our concerns as they requested an opportunity to address any issues before posting publicly. I sent a lengthy description of our concerns, as follows, and we have never heard from the company in response. - The design consultant that we met with repeatedly discussed the aspect of being able to age in place, the best design for seat placement for safety and maneuvering, as well as the importance of a grab bar. Unfortunately, the material used renders the shower floor as a serious fall risk. Just stepping into the unit is treacherous. Any person would have difficulty staying upright, much less anyone with stability or balance issues. This is a serious design flaw and is nothing that we expected. - As above, as the corner seat is made from the same material, so it too becomes very slippery and difficult to use as a seat. Additionally, the seat was installed so that the water pools on top, thus creating a cleaning issue. - We originally planned a shower door installation for the new unit. When we met with the design consultant on 5/19, he told us that due to manufacturing/shipping concerns there would be no way to predict when we could get one, only delaying the installation. He suggested going with a curtain rod, and then contracting with someone else for the shower door installation at another time. As I read the reviews, I see that others did have shower doors installed in July. I’d like an explanation of why we were deterred from getting one. - Finally, with regard to the shower curtain rod – at the end of the day the installer asked me to come and tell him where I wanted the rod placed. A standard curtain is 72”, so therefore, why wouldn’t the installer know to put the rod where it needed to be for a 72” curtain? Instead, both he and his assistant were standing inside the shower trying to hold and mark where I was telling him it should go. I had a curtain ready, so we quickly put it on the rod. I certainly couldn’t be inside the shower with the two of them as they were maneuvering the rod and curtain, so I asked if the bottom of the curtain was touching the shower floor and the assistant said yes. The curtain ends up being approximately 1” past the lip of the shower, so we must be very careful to not let the shower head spray the curtain or it will push it out and over the lip, letting water spray on the floor. I will also say that the rod was not installed level, so one end is even higher than the other. We paid a total of $13,176.00 for this job. We have given this company an opportunity to respond. I don’t expect that we will ever hear from the company in response to these issues, but it is important for others that are considering this work to be aware of the details that need to be dealt with.

My husband and I are extremely disappointed and dissatisfied with this company. First they use all subcontractors, which is not what the salesman said. Their cost is not worth the finished product at all. We never heard from anyone for 2 months about an install date so I had to reach out. Our bathroom is left incomplete with no idea when it'll be done. No one will answer phones or give us answers. One contractor charged us more money (made us write him a check) while he was here or else he wouldn't do the job. Shower, faucet, shower heads are not even siliconed at all and pulls right away from the wall, no shower doors have been installed, and don't know when they will be installed over a week later. First contractor came into my office while I was in a meeting demanding I sign his papers so he'd get paid. I had no idea what I was looking at or looking for in reviewing the completeness of his work, and he wouldn't wait for my husband to review his work. So, so unprofessional.

Needed to add a walk-in tub to a new home we purchased. We wanted to be able to accommodate older family members that come to visit. The sales sales process was very thorough. Ryan answered all of our questions and was able to give us a price right on the spot. The installation was seamless and they did a great job cleaning up. Overall we are very happy with our decision.

Stay away from Carolina Home Remodeling. If I could give lower than one star then I would. We ran across them at the Southern Christmas Show in Charlotte this past November. We knew would wanted to have some work done to our master bath so we let them come out and give us a quote. The salesman was nice enough but the price was much more than we would have ever though the amount of work we were having done would cost. We decided to go through with it anyway, though. They said they would call to schedule an install time once the materials came in. The person we spoke to for scheduling said that it would take 2-3 days to complete the job, and that it wouldn't be a problem to begin the job on a Saturday and return on Monday to finish. In the event that they did not finish they would return that next Saturday and we would be done. Here is where everything goes wrong and shows how poor quality of a company you will be dealing with. One installer guy shows up on the first Saturday. He quickly cuts out and removes the old shower. But then he spends a long time on the phone. Come to find out that he didn't verify that all of the materials were correct before he removed the old shower. The shower pan has to be reordered because it is wrong. Then before leaving he asks if he can leave the materials that he did have with him in the garage. That is not unreasonable, but it is a bit unreasonable to leave said materials laying in the floor of the garage where there will obviously be a car parked again later. Luckily there was very little damage to the edges of a couple of pieces when they were ran over due to not being able to be seen while someone is pulling into the garage. He also left the old shower he cut out just laying out around the corner from the garage. Do they not clean up after themselves at the end of each day when on a job?? Also, we had to call and find out what was going on because that information was not passed along to us. The pan is reordered but will take several days to come in. We did take the opportunity to change the color of the shower walls during this time. We were already going to be without the shower for a week it seemed so why not just go ahead a take one more week to have something we thought would look better. We wait for the materials to come in and reschedule the install time. But now apparently there isn't anyone available to work on Saturday installs so we have to split it up over the course of two Mondays.....so we thought. A different install team (two people this time) show up last Monday to begin the install. They get the rough in work finished over the first day. We are at least glad that it appears we will have our shower back after the next Monday (today) after being without it for a month. But now we come to find out that they have to measure for the door glass to be cut after the walls of the shower are installed, and that it will take 7-10 business days for the door to come in. So it is going to be at least another two weeks before our shower will be completed after the job was started on Jan. 5. We were never told about the door needing to be ordered and that it would take so long to come in. We were only told 2-3 days installation time. They neglected to tell us there would be an almost two week pause in the middle of the job just for the door. We took a look at the wall material that was left in the garage after this fiasco started and it doesn't at all feel like the quality of material that we were shown during the quoting. We are supposed to be getting $1000 off the total cost of the job because of the way they have mishandled it, but that was before the whole door situation came up. I would never recommend this company to anyone for any work that needs to be done around their home. I feel they have poor management, lack of communication, and what I feel is misrepresentation about the quality of materials. Stay away from these people.

Overall project I would rate them "B". Two people installed it and four windows installed. They did a great job with the exception of they ruined some of the drywall around the window. I had to contact them. But I think it was because of the original structure of the house that caused the problem. The price is little higher than I thought. The quality of the window is very good. The installers were very professional and I would give them A+.

The service was excellent. The sales representative, Sam Rawluszki, was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions to our satisfaction. Norm, the project manager, kept us informed as to when the windows would be delivered and installed. Joey Hayden, of Hayden Home Improvements, who installed the windows was efficient, courteous and always prompt and called prior to coming to install the windows. The finished windows looked great.

They were here for a couple of days doing the work, and then they had to come back twice more. Once was to take the locks apart because we wanted special digital locks on our front and back doors, but they didn't bring them the first time. And the other time they came back was to put new full sized screens in because they originally included half screens. The workers should've known at least the bare essentials when they came, because my wife and I had to figure it out on our own because they lost the manuals with directions that come with the locks.

The President/Owner, Bob Anderson, has refused to follow the purchased lifetime guarantee and leakproof warranty. Filing a BBB complaint as well. Claims water intrusion was because of gutters having leaves in them!

The gutters were too small and the gutter protection improperly installed. A number of corrections were made over many months at our insistence. Finally we contacted Angie's List and reported the continuing problems. At that point Carolina Home Remodeling contacted us and agreed to replace the installed gutter/protection with proper gutters and gutter protection. Unfortunately, the gutters do not withstand snow, ice, and heavy rain. The company has acknowledged that according to our contract they will correct any problems due to snow, ice, or rain. The company did replace the gutter system again in 2014 due to damage from snow and ice. This year we have again experienced gutter problems due to snow and ice. We have contacted the company and they have agreed to come examine the gutter system. Perhaps a better gutter/protection system needs to be installed to withstand inclement weather.

The person that came out to do the job was excellent. He cleaned up before he left. I had no problem with the quality of the work or the people that I worked with but the sales people were very aggressive and that was a big turn down.

In a few words, it has been the most stressful for my 92 year old husband as well as myself. They seem to be the most unorganized organization I have ever dealt with, constantly asking me questions which they should have had instructions to prior to beginning the work, in my opinion. Please see No. 7 above for the story as I see it, but certainly, in my opinion NOT finished.

We first found out about this company through the garden show, they had a demonstration set up for e-shield. They were offering free energy audits. We knew that our home was lacking some insulation, so we decided what the heck, it was free, and we wanted to see how bad the problem was. From the beginning of the process the professionals at Carolina Home Remodeling were courteous and attentive. Terry was amazing, he took the time to survey our property, evaluate, and explain everything. The day after The evaluation, a representative called to thank us for our purchase and to see if we needed anything else. We actually received a couple of phone calls to check on us before they scheduled the install. The day of the install the service arrived on time, were quick and courteous. After they were done, they walked me around and showed me everything they did, then they cleaned up and left. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Thank you!

The very first day they laid the cement, the cement cracked. They did not put the rebarb needed for the cement. I personally contacted construction standards of Cabarrus county, which had no record of this project ever happening meaning they did pull the proper permit for this project. After the project was complete, their customer service offered me a years membership to Angies List so that I could GIVE THEM an A rating. I was SHOCKED. To this day I now have boards popping up on my front porch that I replaced myself. They NAILED the boards to the deck when they should have been SCREWED them. COMPLETE CROOKS. They pretended to not speak English, after I had full conversations in English with them. Even the engineering department head seemed to try and pull one over on me.
This project has left me afraid to undertake other projects.

"[removed member name], Thank you for posting on our Angie's List page. I also want to clarify that our company does not engage in work to repair front porches. I have notified Angie's List corporate office to help clarify this issue. Reps for the company couldn't have been nicer including the installer who was always prompt and very friendly. He always informed me of his progress and did an excellent job. I was a little leery of the final result, but it turned out great. I am extremely pleased with the result. It really is attractive and updated the the entire look of the bathroom.

I asked the salesman in BJ's about gutters. He referred me to Carolina Home Remodeling. We reached an agreement. The workman called to let us know he was coming. He asked really good questions to be certain we would be satisfied. The work was exceptionally completed. Cleanup was perfect.
