This was the worst experience with contracters that I have had in the 15 years that I have owned my home. These guys were working in my neighbor's yard and asked if I needed any tree work also. Because of the recession they were offering reduced rates, etc. I stupidly agreed without first checking them out on Angie's List. They trimmed the oak limb, the poplar tree, and cut away the limbs from the cable/phone lines just fine. However, they COMPLETELY chopped my Leyland Cypress trees down to the ground. When I ran outside shocked at what they had done they said, "Oh, they were dead anyway so we decided to just cut them down". They did this without asking and acted as if they were doing me a favor. These trees were NOT dead. Also, they did not trim the hedges at all. They cut away some of the underbrush but did not take anything at all off of the top of this hedge. So, my hedges that I paid $200.00 to have trimmed are still about 20 feet tall. The final piece to this nightmare is that they piled all of the branches and limbs in the front yard that was not in accordance with city policies about yard waste removal. So, the city refused to pick it up. I called to try and get these guys to come out and trim the hedges like they were supposed to do originally. Roger agreed to be back on a Monday to finish the job. He never showed up. I saw them last weekend working in a neighbor's yard. He agreed to send a couple of guys over to re-stack the yard debris. Needless to say he never sent anyone over. Since I am not physically able to do this kind of workI had to pay a neighbor $80.00 to go through the giant pile of yard debris and restack it into small piles. He also had to use a chainsaw to chop the large logs they left in my front yard. These guys will just show up in your neighborhood and ask to do some yard work at a reduced rate. No matter how nice he seems DO NOT let them do any work for you.
Description of Work: I hired this company to spray and trim my Leyland Cyprus trees, prune a Poplar tree, cut off a low branch on an oak tree, prune a hedge, and trim a cherry tree that was crowding into my cable and telephone lines.

See above. Never uses these guys. They are tree butchers and predators!!!
Description of Work: We paid a great price for the TREE BUTCHER as I call him. Not only did he mutilate our holly trees but NEVER FINISHED THE JOB. They did a great job on my Bradford Pears but he didn't trim my hollys (probably killed them) and didn't trim my hedges as he was supposed to. This is one very smooth guy. He swoops into the neighborhood tells us what trees need pruning (I agreed with him on this) and make a ''recession price'. He then works like a dog with his crew and when it got to be a little dark he said don't worry we'll be back tomorrow. I have called the JA everyday for a week with promises he will come 'tomorrow'! It has been 10 days now and all I get is his voicemail. This group is the reason I joined Angie's List! I paid him half in cash ('for his guys hard work") and half as a check....I will dispute the check to see if I can recover my losses. I ended up doing the work myself!
