"These windows were installed n Sept '15. A couple days after the install Rob called 2 say there were a problem with the front windows caulk. I went over the next day, it had rained the day b4. The caulk was soft, it had not set up due 2 the rain I thought. I cleaned out the wet caulk & re-applied a silicone base caulk. I did not hear from the customer until I received a email March 3rd of this yr with pictures of a leak problem from a gutter he admitted had been leaking 4 sometime. There were 4 layers of 2 x 4s on the right side of the window where the leak came from that were starting 2 decay due 2 the leak. Apparently this leak had been ignored since b4 the windows were installed due 2 the fact the caulk became soft after the rain. The screws we used had started 2 rust due 2 the same problem. There were minor deterioration with the 2 x 4 on the leak side of the window & on the bottom BUT there were NO visible signs of bad wood when we installed the windows one & a half yrs b 4. This customers seems 2 think I'm responsible 4 him ignoring the leak problem which was there b 4 our work began. The only way I would have been aware of such a problem would have been 2 take off the siding. Since there were NO visible signs of decay a yr & a half ago there would have been no need. There were a mistake on this job however. My guys forgot 2 install a drip edge above the windows. We were there on 3-13-17 approx. 3 hrs correcting this problem which resulting n replacing a board above 1 of the windows. We bent metal & inserted it behind the windows creating a metal drip edge which extended 3" behind the boards correcting the problem. The customer contacted me saying he wanted me 2 come by & explain what we had done which I already told him how we corrected the problem the day we were there but I would still come by. About a wk & half ago I had planned 2 go by, I received a email saying he was sick & we would have 2 reschedule. I replied that as soon as he felt better give me a call. We agreed 2 meet the wk-n of April 1st. He cancelled saying he was out of town. I called on 4-3 -17 & left another msg asking 2 drop by since I was n the area - no reply. He has implied I haven't follow up but I have made several attempts 2 drop by, I don't know what else I can do. As I've said there were no visible damage when we did the job but 2 try & satisfy this customer I left a $ 150 ck w/ his daughter the day we were there on March 13th which he has not cashed yet. He expects me 2 pay 4 the damage that he has ignored apparently well b 4 we installed the windows. For 4 layers of 2 x 4s to b affected this problem had 2 b going on for some time. I've tried 2 settle this situation but please read my other reviews & make up u r own mind as 2 what kind of person I am."
