CALICO CORNERS

The initial contact with the designer was pleasant.  We were provided with ideas and samples that worked well for our needs.  Once the order was placed, however, communication died.  It was difficult to get any follow up information as to shipping and installation times.  The installer was wonderful.  He called to confirm dates and times for both the measurements and the installation.  The store was much more difficult.  Messages were sometimes not returned.  We had to physically return to the store for status updates.  Information was vague and we were never told when the material had arrived for fabrication or how long the fabrication would take once received.  This was disappointing.  The final product is exactly what we wanted.  We just wish we had had some acknowledgments along the way.  We have never received a follow up call to verify that everything was good or that we were satisfied.  Very poor customer service, IMO.

They charged way too much. I went and talked to them about the price but I could see that it was a losing battle. They don't seem to have any down so I would probably use somebody else for upholstery. I wanted to have two down comforters made and they couldn't do it. They did a really good job on the work they did. The curtains they made were beautiful and I couldn't see anything wrong with them. Their pricing was on the high side and it was set in stone; there was no getting around it. I wanted to have a whole lot of furniture re-covered but then I saw the price and didn't have it done. They seemed more excited to see me when they thought I was going to have a lot done. Their fabrics are not beautiful anymore.

Great. The price is on the higher end, but you get what you pay for. Wait time is average for custom items. Everyone who comes comments on my curtain and how cute my daughters room is. She is 5 and the style will grow with her.

I ordered curtains for my child's room. The hardware arrived damaged, the curtains were not sewn as promised, and the design is mediocre. They offered to rework them, but I decided that I would get a seamstress locally to do it. They did send a very good subcontractor to hang the curtains. The store manager was gracious and refunded part of my money, but overall I am very disappointed, because I paid a lot of money for curtains that don't look good.

I would never use Calico Corners again. The first time the drapes came in, they had been made inside out. They wanted to know if I wanted them anyway. Weeks go by, they are finally installed. They are extremely uneven. The guy who installed them insisted that I would be taken care of by Rena Byers. She never got around to calling me, but I did finally catch up with her. She had forgotten about my order. She is so busy. She did send a very nice woman who did the best she could to fix them but really, they still did not look very good. I accepted that my expectations had been too high, and I needed to look elsewhere for drapes for the rest of the house. However, I did call Rena back on 1/8/2007. The lining was falling out below the drapes. It really was just unacceptable.I was expecting an apology or we will make sure you get these back asap. But again my expectations are too high. I told her how unhappy I am with my experience at Calico Corners. She smiled. Too busy to care?

I needed to match some fabric I had for a window seat as my upholsterer did not have enough to complete the cushions. Lisa helped me to find the perfect complementary fabric and she also helped me pick out the fabric for the lining for some bedroom valances and jabots. They have a great selection of fabrics for interior decorating.

THEY WERE HAVING A SALE SO THIS ITEM TOOK A LITTLE LONGER THAN USUAL TO BE COMPLETED. ERICA HAS HELPED ME IN THE PAST AND WAS VERY HELPFUL IN MY SELECTION OF MATCHING TRIMS AND COORDINATING WITH OTHER FABRICS IN THE ROOM.

ORDER WAS PLACED DURING THEIR SALE WHICH ALWAYS DELAYS THE COMPLETION. ERICA WAS VERY HELPFUL IN PICKING STYLE AND COORDINATING FABRICS FOR THIS LARGE VALANCE. SHE SHOWED HOW TO HANG IT (WE DID THAT OURSELVES) PROPERLY. QUALITY EXCELLENT.

POOR VALUE - GROSSLY OVERPRICED. POOR CONSTRUCTION QUALITY ON DRAPES. LEFT A MESS AT INSTALLATION. SOME OF THE RODS THEY INSTALLED ARE ALREADY COMING OUT OF THE WALLS.

THE DESIGNER JULIE WAS TERRIFIC. THE INSTALLER WAS A LITTLE FLAKEY (FORGOT TO GET MEASUREMENTS FOR ONE ROOM ETC.)

I HAVE HAD GREAT LUCK WITH CALICO CORNERS, THEY HAVE EXCELLENT SELECTIONS, VERY PROMPT AND REASONABLY PRICED.
