I found Becky from a Welcome Kit to North Carolina. Because I didn't get her from Angie's List, I kept 'waiting on the shoe to drop' but it ended up being the most spectacular Realtor I could have chosen. First, I asked her to start helping me when I was still in PA, with 3 weeks before I arrived in NC. Most Realtors would have thought me a bad lead. Not Becky. She LISTENED to my 'Must haves' and 'Nice to Haves'. She was over 30 miles away from me yet never once complained about driving this far to see just one house. More importantly, I can't express enough how she paid attention to detail. Having had my own license 20+ years ago, I was familiar with some of the laws and procedures. I'm able to pick up on 'missed' tasks fairly easily... it took me over 2 months to find a house and never once did she drop the ball. In fact, she would bring things to light that I hadn't even picked up on. I put in 4 offers and she was so extremely precise on covering everything that I truly was impressed. She not only was punctual but I started realizing, I may want to get there 5 minutes early because she'll be waiting. She'd have the lockbox out, doors opened, any items in the neighborhood that may be of concern (I was always concerned about traffic) was pointed out. She never insulted me by sticking the cell phone to her ear during 'my' time. I think maybe once in over 30 showings did she take a call and she kept it short and apologized for doing so. Something I should point out also, I once overheard the selling Realtor get extremely borish with Becky...what a professional woman Becky is. I don't mean she was a pushover...I mean she was Professional! She let that lady rant and rave then firmly pointed out a few 'items' that could have cost that seller the sale, meaning, even though the other realtor was completely out of line with her screaming (on our final walkthrough, we found a 100# printer left in the shed as well as the lock didn't lock on the shed) and Becky pointed out that the buyer (me) wasn't requiring the backed up septic be cleaned, nor did I complain that the grass looked like a forest, etc.... we were only asking for 2 things on the walkthrough and the verbal abuse Becky listened to, you'd have thought we had a laundry list of petty things, when in reality, most buyers would have submitted many more things than I. Becky was NOT a pushover, she just didn't engage in the yelling and negative behavior coming through that phone... In addition, she really, really knew her business. From contracts, to the homes, to the escrow/closing, on and on. I just can't say enough about her. Again, having once been a Realtor in multiple states, I know what 'meets expectations' or 'exceeds'. She very much exceeded expectations.
