We were looking to spend around $10k or so for a beautiful backyard project, for which I thought this company would have been perfect for, based on their website. However, after no response to 4 emails and 2 phone calls, I gave up. I can't speak to the work that they've done, as I was never granted the courtesy of even getting a return call.

The owner himself was the one doing all the work essentially, and he made sure that all the work got done. He even worked hard in the rain to try and make sure that the project worked for us. I have recommended him to people around here who haven't used him. He has people helping him, and I think he let 3 assistants let go, because they weren't up to par. His price was good, another company wanted to charge me double.

I had called a few times, each time I called to have them reseed my lawn I always got an excuse. He never came. I had called several times again and he wouldn't answer. He finally called me back and he started swearing and using profanity. He said he didn't care if I called the Better Business Bureau. He has done a crappy job. He used the wrong seed. I am loosing trees now. This is the worst landscaping job I have ever had. The job started in the middle of April and I have paid over $15,000. I would not recommend him to my worst enemy. His workers have broken my back gate which I will also have to pay to get fixed. The soil he used was to be top soil and he used clay, very poor job.

Service was excellent. Joe is great guy and very knowledgeable. Site visit and communication were very professional. Highly recommend!

the only way it could have gone any better is if we hadn't had two snow storms and several days with weather starting out in the single digits. Other than that they were fast professional, courteous, and cleaned up at the end of each day.all in all it took about the number of days joe said it would except that several days were interspersed where we were unable to get any work done due to weather.

They came out and looked and then they called back with a revised estimate. We had a couple of conversations about the job. They were willing to use different combinations of materials. However, I just had a little bit of communication and it seemed to me that they are a small operation and they felt a little less than professional. I was not too sure whether or not they will be able to complete the job to my satisfaction.

Great experience! Three workmen did all the work in two and a half days. Men were courteous and extremely neat. Before digging trenches for drain pipes and basins, they very carefully removed as much sod as they could to use in the rehab of the yard. All drainage is working well and has solved low area pooling.

Prior to the hiring Joe K. arrived onsite and discussed the project and made some recommendations on paver material and walked me through the concrete process. Later that evening I was emailed a detailed, professional looking cost estimate. My estimates from other companies were written on scratch paper and were more expensive. Joe is not only the owner, but he is also a worker. This isn't one of those companies where a professional shows up for the estimate and the workers show up the next day not understanding the agreement and expectations. The workers were punctual each day they worked. Also, nothing says more about a company than how they handle an error. A concrete slip up while they were onsite caused additional work and expense on their part. Joe brought this error to my attention and just corrected it. No questions asked. I couldn't speak more highly of the work performed or the professionalism of the owner. I would highly recommend Artistic Hardscape and I will use them for my major landscaping work going forward.
