They said they would not reimburse us for the old microwave because we did not go through them.

They doubled my premiums allegedly because they couldn't find service people. But my experience with them was horrific. Their customer service stinks. You can wait an hour to an hour and a half on hold to get a hold of somebody. They do have an automated service that worked pretty well if all you want to do is place a service call. But more often than not, there are complications, and you have to talk to somebody, so when you call, you can wait an hour and a half to get a hold of somebody.

They're always jockeying to avoid to doing the work. And in one case I had maybe 3 or 4 Carrier people out to examine my heating & A/C unit for some problem it had. They sent this guy out of the woodwork out to say none of their diagnosis was right. So they could avoid paying the plan.

I strongly urge your customers, there are other home warranty services out there that are more official. They pay for 1 lb of freon and they have this little scheme where they will come out and put 3 lbs freon in and you have to pay the going rate which could be $500 or $600 and then if it turns out there's a leak in the system, it's past the warranty program after 60 days. It's just a lot of problems with them.

The vendors typically respond within 24 to 48 hours. I pay a deductible of $120 per visit. It doesn't matter what they do, may be less or may be more, I only pay the deductible.

They use the cheapest replacement parts possible. They do not screen their contractors. When our water heater broke the contractor they sent showed up in sweatpants and a flannel shirt. Though the water heater was leaking out the top seal he still replaced a few pipes and said call AHS if it's still leaking, because in his words "AHS won't replace the unit until I show it can't be fixed". Of course it still leaked, it never stopped. It took 3 days to get the water heater replaced. Then the display panel went out on our refrigerator. AHS sent a contractor out who looked at it and said he'd need to order a part. Days went by with no calls from anyone. I'd call AHS and be told "it'll be in soon". 2 months later we finally got the replacement panel. Our AC unit went out several times and we spent several hundred dollars in freon before the 5th contractor they sent found the problem.

All this company does is refer you to local technicians that are not only unreliable, and never punctual, but patch up the symptoms of the unit never fixing it. Very bad customer service too!!
Like most people I believe that when you have a sick, elderly or children at home that you do everything possible to make them safe and comfortable, but when you pay insurance  for the purpose of maintaining the appliances in the home you would expect that the insurance company be honest and realistic about a terminal appliance(s) and pay for its replacement. This should have been done 10 services calls ago at a co-pay of up to $75 each visit.
This company has to be the worse warranty company out there to manipulate elderly and ill people by allowing patch jobs on appliances instead of actually doing what they should and replace it.

We usually had good experience UNTIL we had "big ticket" item break.  Our A/C broke on 5/30/12.  It took 31 days for AHS to replace unit.  We believe they were doing everything possible NOT to approve claim.  On 5/30 -1st Vendor responded quickly.  Rather than report total problem to AHS they tried to sell us part of a new A/C and charge $6000 out of pocket.    When we complained to AHS, they sent 2nd vendor for 2nd opinion. All was going OK until this point when 2nd vendor confirmed that the full unit needed replacement - AHS stopped calling us back.  It took us HOURS of wait times and false promises.  After 2 weeks, we finally got claim elevated to highest level where one agent was supposed to help resolve.  Even had a DIRECT # to this agent.  They then sent original vendor BACK out to assess unit ONLY to confirm that full unit needed relacement.  AHS finally approved claim and allowed the 1st vendor to do the work on 6/29.I have a home office and endured 90+ temps while waiting to get this resolved.  It took 31 days for AHS to meet their commitment. If we had not fought for this, they simply would have NOT called us back.  Even the Customer Service People at AHS were frustrated at how this company was treating us.

They came out and did everything they said they would. I would recommend them, and they do a good job.

No good things to say.  I had a repair, they declined to cover.  I'm very unhappy with their service, and will never use them again.

They have given us excellent service so far. They have sent very good technicians out and if there is an emergency type situation they speed things up. We are happy with their work.
