AC Lynn Homes

We have hired Buddy, the owner of A.C. Lynn homes to build our future home. I'm writing this review because I'd like people out there who are looking for a contractor to give Buddy a call and see for themselves what an extraordinary individual he is. We haven't started building yet, but there is so much that needs to get done prior to doing this the right way. And the right way is what Buddy does! Some things that have pleased us so much: -He takes a lot of pride in what he does and the contractors he hires. He also takes accountability in every step of the way. -He treats you like you're special and not just another house he's building. He's funny and pleasant and really listens to your concerns. -Buddy is very honest and will tell you if you're barking up an expensive tree! We wanted someone like that...not a person who would promise us the moon and then present us with much higher prices after the fact. -We looked at lots that were seemingly great, Buddy actually took time on his weekend to look at land for us and tell us what he thought (for the lots we were serious about). If the lot didn't fit our "must haves" he would tell us...if the clearing costs were going to be high, he made sure to let us know. We found a lot that seemed like a bargain..looked beautiful, but when he reviewed the well and septic requirements he told us the cost would be quite significant to install. It's all these little things that have been a GODSENT to us. We're such newbies that we could have easily been prey for an unethical builder, but by reading reviews on A.C. Lynn Homes, it brought me to Buddy! We could not be happier! We're closing on our property soon and then we'll be working with one of Buddy's recommendations for a designer to start putting pen to paper and bring our dream to life. The best part is that we know Buddy will build us a fabulous home! We were lucky enough to tour a home that he built and the owners couldn't be more thrilled. I was amazed at the quality of work. We've bought 4 other homes and nothing came close to what we saw in that home. Bottom line, we're just incredibly excited to be on this voyage with Buddy!

Emailed them to see if they where interested in my addtion project. The replied the same day, but declined to do it.

It went exceedingly well and I couldn't be happier! This was my third project working with Buddy and I was once again extremely thankful that I chose to work with him! From the first time I worked with Buddy, it was clear that he was committed to building a long-term relationship of trust and confidence. Well, that relationship has been win-win for both of us because the level of detail, time and care he puts into every job is extraordinary! When the opportunity arose for me to build another store this year, one thing I did not have to worry about was finding a new builder! Buddy had not only proven his capability and uncompromising commitment to excellence, but most importantly to me, he had proven his character. Buddy didn't tell me what he thought I wanted to hear, he told me the truth, he earned my trust and has not let me down! Now, after three projects working together, I have never been more confident or eager to give the highest recommendation I could possibly give, my continued repeat business! Buddy is very friendly, has a wonderful family and is also very professional and respectful of time. When we met to discuss the project he was very organized, a great listener and didn't try to interject his own preferences or steer the project in a way that would benefit him, like many other builders I talked too. Buddy listened, asked good questions and made the vision for our new store a reality! Communication with Buddy was outstanding! We talked through most major decisions at the job-site but frequently spent time talking on the phone as he kept me up to date daily. Buddy always followed up with an email to recap our discussions to avoid any miscommunication and to make sure we were on the same page. There were no hidden or surprise fees in any project we've done and this project actually came in under budget! Buddy did a very good job of organizing sub-contractors' work and schedules and he worked closely with them to maintain a clean, organized and safe job site. In the end, it doesn't matter which room I walk into: the kitchen, a bathroom or our dining room, I can see Buddy's fingerprint of excellence and extreme attention to detail and it makes me smile! I smile because I know that it's so much more than a job to Buddy, and it's so much more than a project to me! Our new store is beautiful and it is another outstanding product of Buddy and AC Lynn Homes!

Buddy did a fantastic job and he would be our first call were we to do something small (remodeling job) or big (new house). I have known him for ~10 years, have seen his work and when comparing him to others in the business, he shows very well. I find that most people who are considering large remodeling or construction projects enter into the process with a bit of trepidation for several reasons. Most have little to no experience in construction and thus are at a disadvantage when evaluating potential builders. Related to that lack of experience, most would not be able to spot construction issues which could prove problematic at some point down the road. Most have heard horror stories around shoddy work, cost overruns and missed deadlines. I say all this because choosing Buddy will help alleviate most of your major concerns: - He is knowledgable, professional and detail-oriented. - He won't cut corners and will ensure the final product exceeds expectations as if it was his own personal project. - He is trustworthy. - He will communicate early and often.

To Whom it May Concern, Since purchasing our home in September of 2005, we looked forward to finishing our basement. We engaged 4 different companies for bids and also to guide us on the best use of the space. AC Lynn Homes was a clear winning bid for us. In October of 2007, we hired AC Lynn Homes to build our custom basement. Buddy had us feeling confident in his abilities from the start. He is a professional, courteous, always on time, and provided invaluable suggestions for the layout of the finished space. His bid was very competitive with the others, which gave us confidence of its accuracy and reasonableness. In addition to the competitive price, he selflessly provided options in lowering the price, while not sacrificing on quality. During the construction period, Buddy ran a well orchestrated process with his highly skilled sub-contractors. He served as a single point of contact for all the work underway and always kept us in the loop. He always met their sub-contractors on the job site and let them in the back entrance to the basement and we never had to worry about letting anyone in and out. Each of their sub-contractors that we met were again very professional, furthering our confidence in our choice with AC Lynn. One final note on the construction process, it was a pleasant surprise at how clean the job site always was. Buddy ensured that the subcontractors always cleaned up the site at the end of the day and locked up the back entrance. It was nice not having to worry about these aspects. The end result was a finished basement which exceeded our expectations, was on time, and right on budget. We enjoy the basement everyday and have a great private space for friends and family visiting from out of town. We would not hesitate to engage AC Lynn again and recommend them to all our friends and family.

AC Lynn Homes were such a pleasure to work with last year during the full completion of our large basement. There were able to quickly assess the work and understood the vision we had of the basement being an extension of the rest of our home, right down to the details of the baseboards, molding, and understood we wanted a top of the line basement. AC Lynn Homes always had our best interests at heart from the onset of the 1st meeting and it continued thereafter. They exude trust, confidence, and high quality construction. Construction started quickly after signing the contract, and they completed project efficiently and quickly. They have a positive and grateful attitude and are always willing to address any concerns or answer questions. They demonstrated courtesy, professionalism, and competency each day - and put in long hours to ensure a great job! We can?t express how thrilled we are to report that our custom home project constructed by Buddy Edwards, owner of AC Lynn Homes, was a successful and joyful experience. We began last fall with visions of a new home and a custom home builder who was a complete stranger, and finished last month with our dream retirement home and a treasured new friend. This is a strong indicator of Buddy?s character and the beautiful home he built for us! We selected AC Lynn Homes as our custom home builder prior to purchasing our lot and designing our home. Our decision to select the builder first was based on Buddy's reputation for quality, integrity, and his expertise in design-build construction projects. Buddy's experience in land development and land acquisition was invaluable to us early on in the process. Not only did he help us make our final lot selection, but he actually negotiated the purchase of the property for us! His relationship with local architects made it a breeze for us to select the perfect architect for our project. AC Lynn Homes collaborated closely with us and our architect throughout the design process and provided valuable input on the design. Buddy provided estimates for our home during several stages of the design which helped us control the project cost throughout the design process. The collaborative approach to the project saved us time and money, and the added value to the project was absolutely priceless. We strongly encourage everyone to consider the design-build approach when using AC Lynn Homes for their next project. Buddy?s workers and tradesmen included only the best of the best, and his high expectations of them resulted in superior workmanship. Many builders, okay most builders, would consider us a real pain to work with because we are very detail-oriented and wanted to be involved in the project on a daily basis. We do a lot of research, and for the most part, know exactly what we want and how we want it done. Our home was designed as an Energy Star home and included low E windows, Geothermal heating and cooling, perimeter sealing, cellulose insulation, and Energy Star appliances. Other important design features included a 1,000 SF industrial grade woodworking shop and an elevator. Buddy not only took these requirements in stride, but matched our expectations and often exceeded them due to his own high standards. He was very helpful during the finish selection process and provided valuable insight on material and color selections. When he felt we might be headed in the wrong direction, he diplomatically educated us on the advantages of alternative paths and helped guide us in making the best decisions for our home and lifestyle. Because he worked so closely with us on all aspects of the design and building process, this was a genuine learning experience for us. Due to our extensive involvement in the project and Buddy's guidance during the construction process, we have a much greater appreciation for the quality of the construction that we received in our home. It was obvious to us that everyone that worked on our home took great pride in their craftsmanship. We frequently overheard subcontractors noting the excellence of each other's work and the overall quality of our home. It was very obvious that all of the subcontractors that work for AC Lynn Homes truly enjoy working together. Buddy's positive energy and hands on management style creates a great atmosphere for everyone on the jobsite. Throughout the building process, many curious neighbors and family members walked through the home to see the progress of the work, and without exception, every one of them commented on the superior workmanship. Comments included, ?This framing is done so well, it looks like finish carpenters did it.? Or, ?This drywall is so well done; the trim carpenters are going to be in heaven.? One of our neighbors, with 30 years of experience as a commercial and residential painter, was very impressed with the excellence of the painting and carpentry work. Our favorite comment came from a neighbor who had also been watching the progress of some homes in the multi-million dollar price range that were being built close by and stated that ?Those homes can?t match yours for quality of construction.? At the end of each work day, the jobsite was organized and cleared of all waste materials and debris. A member of the Homeowners Association made a point of stopping by and informing us that this was the cleanest construction site she had ever seen and it was much appreciated by the neighborhood. Not only was Buddy on site every day overseeing and directing the project, but he was not afraid to get his hands dirty. We often saw him laying out the work, performing framing and carpentry work and putting his personal touch on our home by fine tuning every last detail. He cleaned and organized the job site regularly himself and even personally limbed up the trees and cleared out the underbrush on the property so that we would have a better view! If having a superior home weren?t enough, Buddy finished the entire project two months and five days ahead of the contracted completion date! And for those people on a budget, like us, it was gratifying that there were no ugly financial surprises during or upon completion of the project. No additional work or modifications were ever made without our prior approval and they were always documented with a written change order listing the scope of work and cost as agreed. Throughout the project everything was carefully discussed and, whenever possible, Buddy found ways to save us money during construction while still giving us the best possible product. In fact, AC Lynn Homes added details to our home and upgraded several of our finishes at no additional cost, simply because they are so passionate about the quality of their work and the finished project that they deliver. Upon move in, we were presented with a very thorough and professional new home binder. Adorned with a photo of our new home, the binder included our AC Lynn warranty policy, instructions for service requests, a complete list of subcontractors with emergency contact numbers, and Operation and Maintenance manuals for all of the items and equipment used in our home. This was an unanticipated surprise that further defined AC Lynn Homes as a first-class builder. Since we have been living in our new home, Buddy frequently calls to check on us and make sure everything is functioning properly. AC Lynn Homes definitely stands behind their work and is always prompt in addressing any need that we have to our absolute satisfaction. In conclusion, Buddy embodied all the traits most desired and most difficult to find in a new home or remodeling contractor: A straightforward and complete signed contract, personal integrity that allowed us to have total trust in his honesty, genuine respect for our concerns and desires, pride in his work, high expectations of his subcontractors, and finally, a driving desire to fulfill his promise to us to deliver a beautiful and very-well-constructed home.
