Lisa and her team have been gardening for me for several years, and I'm a very happy client. Their expertise is in gardening, so my perennials, shrubs and ornamentals are well-tended with this company. Services include weeding, cutting-back perennials, fall and spring cleanups, new plantings and mulch, as needed. Everyone works as team, quickly and efficiently, and my gardens look great after they leave. Whenever I start to think my garden needs tending, I get a message from Lisa, so she's keeping track of the schedule for me. I used to do all of my gardening myself, was a garden blogger, and so I'm highly knowledgeable. It's wonderful to have a gardening team that does exactly what I'd do, if I were still doing the work myself. It's easy for me to recommend Up and Doing It.

Lisa and Up and Doing It have worked in my yard for 5 years now. Initially the lot was a mess and today I have incredible gardens, beautiful patio, walks and customed designed Koi pond. All using natural plants and stone. It is a testament to Lisa's vision and designing ability, careful and thoughtful consideration and workmanship and superb plant and plant care knowledge. Lisa uses common sense approaches in the yard that are good for plants, for people and pets, uses no chemicals but natural solutions and organic methods. I was very lucky to find her on Angie's list and have used her for 5 years now. Every year the yard just gets better. Lisa has an extensive list of sub-contractors she works with to build hardscapes and do grading and clearing when needed. She is very conscientious about leaving the property looking its best when they are finished for the day. She also is very creative about re-using plant and left over materials when she redesigns an area. Without a doubt, Lisa's work in my yard has increased the value of my property significantly and I find myself spending more and more time out in the spaces she has created. She and her crew have an incredible work ethic, with incredible plant knowledge and care for the landscape and plants as if they were their own. Her service is the kind where I will never look for another contractor because what she is able to do with a landscape is far better than what I can imagine and is well worth the price.

Lisa and her crew are the best! A+++++++ They have been installing and caring for my plants for over a decade. Lisa is extremely knowledgeable, creative, thoughtful, hardworking and super friendly! She has designed and installed a fantastic rain garden, recommended and provided unique and native plants from local nurseries, helped with complex drainage challenges, maintained our garden beds and much, much more. Lisa also is connected to an excellent network of local pros who she can call in to help as needed. Thank you Up and Doing It Landscaping!! Y'all are so wonderful to work with and have added so much beauty in our yard!

While the owner originally seemed very knowledgable, she was hired because of concerns with drainage in our yard that she was going to hep fix, as well as do some landscaping. She never presented me with a formal plan because she wanted to "make the beds first and then see where to go from there". Her proposed drainage solution failed and she ended up digging half a ditch in my yard, and then left it partially finished before telling me I would need to pay an additional $1500 to finish it up. The crew digging the ditch wasn't even her crew and she had to consult their contractor to try to figure out how to fix the problems she had created. While very pleasant, her knowledge base was overstated and it is clear she cannot handle larger projects. I would not recommend her for anything larger than a very small yard and would avoid her if you had drainage concerns. Additionally, many of the plants she planted had failed to thrive or blossom. When I reached out to her, she told me she had planted some alternative varieties (i.e. a red crepe myrtle, instead of the regular breed) without consulting me and after several emails and phon calls, she stopped responding all together. All in all, I wish I had never hired her and gone with a more established, knowledgable and professional company. I did so this past fall and have been much happier with the results.

She was super nice--the original goodhearted woman. She did a pretty good job. The structure looks pretty sturdy, but the fact that the timbers do not lay perfectly end to end keeps me from giving an A+ rating. She worked very h****** it.
Response from Up and Doing It
"I was contacted by [member name removed] one week primary to the job being completed. I spoke with her by phone and made an appointment to view the landscaping job she wanted performed.Upon arrival I was greeted by her two friendly dogs and a gorgeous yard. After talking with her I informed her that I didn't directly do construction on garden beds but I had someone on my crew that could complete the job. I gave her an estimate of $650 and depending on what the was involved below the ground or above,it could be less or more. On May 19 and 20 the planning, purchasing of supplies, transporting, hauling and clean up took place. Upon arrival employee was not able to directly access the back yard due to gate and was asked to park by gate. This made the job more difficult due to transporting supplies an additional two hundred feet. This also meant that the removal of rotted timbers had to be transported further.During the construction three snakes where found typical of rotted wood which had to be dealt with. About noon employee heard screaming and responded. A large black snake was in the yard heading towards the porch. Employee responded immediately due to her two precious dogs. [member name removed] was very relieved that employee dealt with it and taking time out of her day, which added additional time to schedule. Employee completed the job exactly what [member name removed] wanted. She was very please and felt she found a new trusted friend. The cost of the job was fifty dollars less than estimated. In talking with employee, she informed me the reason for the one inch spacing was for drainage. Another thing the employee did is haul additional construction materials to the dump that where not part of the job. [member name removed] seemed grateful for this also. Overall she seemed very pleased."

Up and Doing It did a good job. For people who are interested in doing some organic gardening or people who plots that they're thinking of turning into a garden, I think Up and Doing It do well with that. Up and Doing It starts from scratch and are quite patient about taking it from the beginning.

Lisa and her staff are great. My lot was an unkempt woods that had many challenging areas. Had tried several things prior to working with Lisa and had contacted the extension service to conduct soil tests and help with the restoration and redesign of the area. Lisa walked the lot and came to the same conclusions and recommendations as the county extension agent. She had a similar vision as I had for the front portion of the lot, brought her crew in and is making it happen. Price is reasonable and her work ethic is excellent. I plan to continue using her as the lot and adjoining woods start to take shape.

Her name is Ms. Lisa Longerich and she does much of the work herself.  She is as strong as the guy who is working for her.  She really knows what she is doing.  She has put in all sorts of structures and she has done maintenance type stuff.  Her pricing is excellent.  I have used them for quite a few years now.  She is an easy person to get along with.  She has good suggestions on stuff to put in the blank spots in your landscaping.  She is also aware of what stuff deer will eat and what they won't.  That’s a big problem around here.  She is very knowledgeable and she does it well.  She prepares the soil right and all that stuff.  The guy I had before didn't do so good.
