Since we are a rescue and the standard protocol which every vet we use has observed is to speak to the rescue before proceeding with what will be an extremely high bill for a foster dog. We needed to be called to authorize these tests and discuss with the vet what he is observing. None of this was done. We were presented with a $466 bill within minutes of the completion of the exam ( I tried during the time of exam to reach the vet but he was not available to come to the phone). The bill included tests we did not authorize. When I saw that bill I immediately called and said what was not authorized and to cancel those tests. I assumed they were cancelled since we never did receive any of the tests results, only repeat requests for payment. When I called the head vet Dr. Deihl to discuss this issue he hung up on me! We are still unable to get a resolution on this. Very unprofessional and in fact hostile treatment.

Dr. Schultz could not have been more kind AND competent. I was able to get in immediately with my cats emergency. My cat is blind, and going to the vet is traumatic for her. Not only was her illness diagnosed, treated and cured, but I also got great help with ideas for dealing with her blindness. We went back for her annual physical and shots. So glad I went. They will do house calls, but so far I think she an handle the short trip. Thanks, Dr. Schultz!

Failed to follow through appropriately with a prescription refill. This provider, with whom I have been working for more than 15 years, gave the wrong number to a pharmacy that was supposed to formulate medicine to prevent seizures in my dog. I explicitly gave them the number a which I could be reached and they did not communicate that to the pharmacy. The pharmacy called a land line that I never use and I did not get the message until the the holiday week end. When I called to express my concern and ask for a solution, the vet tech essentially blamed me for the oversight, even as she read the correct contact number. She offered to contact human pharmacies to see if the prescription could be filled and quickly called back to say this was not possible. I asked what solution might be available and could I please talk to the vet. She came back after presumably talking to the vet and said nothing could be done and i could expect break through seizures when the medicine ran out. And by the way, I should have anticipated this issue although a requesting the prescription a week in advance has never been a problem previously. She also implied that the two years since a blood level was drawn was unacceptable even though this had never been mentioned to me before and my dog was in the office in late summer for a blood level on another medicine. When I began frustrated with this result, she referred me to the office manage who deals with "these types of problems." I took this to mean angry customers. When i asked when I might here from the manager, she said she did not have that information. So here I am with my dog who will likely have seizures that I cannot prevent and a vet who seems to to care at all, and actually blamed me. Wow! Draw you own conclusions about this business as I have now done.

We’ve been using them for 10 years. We can make appointments and we don’t have to wait a long time usually. They know our animals and it’s close to us too.

We love Dr. Virginia Walters and Timberlyne Animal Clinic! The office is well run and we almost never wait for appointments. Additionally, we are able to get on the schedule (with our specific vet) easily. Our dog has been through extensive treatment for both acute and chronic conditions. Dr. Walters is very thoughtful in sorting out a complex medical situation to try to identify the source of our dog's health problems. At an appropriate time (not too soon or too late) she referred us to a specialist at NC State and now works well to manage our dog's care. The vet techs are great and have managed acute issues that came up while we were out of town and our dog was with a neighbor.

Timberlyne and Legion Road Veterinary Clinics are high quality but pricey. They are very clean and competent with a professional staff. However, they like to run lots of blood work and tests that can break the bank. Even their routine services are expensive compared to others but they are thorough.

The vet is quite slow, didn't bother to read any of the files we had faxed from our old vet (despite insisting that they received them several days before our appointment), did not know what medicines our dogs were on, etc. Their front office staff was pleasant enough, but not very competent. They regularly made errors in preparing invoices. We were over-billed and had to have them credit our account. They also mark up the price of medications far in excess of what our old vet in Washington DC charged (a more expensive market on the whole). We stuck with them for 6 months but eventually decided we needed to find a new, more competent vet.

They are okay. I like them and they are fine. They are quite clean and they have rooms that the dogs would like. They seem to be very good with animals specifically dogs and they also have care for cats but I use only for dogs. They seem to know what they are doing. When I took my dog there they have always told what to do and I have taken my dog regularly to them for the last six years. They keep up with all the medications. They seem to be very gentle and very in tune with the animals. So it's been a good experience. Their pricing seems to be average as I have never been to any other vets. When you call them they take you right away. It's very nice and clean. My animals are little scary but they take care of them very well. I appreciate that they do tooth cleaning but I have never done that with my animals as I am scared of anesthesia.

Although we usually take our dog to Timberlyne's other "branch" (Legion Road Animal Clinic) because it is more convenient, we wanted to have a particular vet perform the spaying surgery on our new puppy because he had done a very good job on another one of our dogs years ago and this vet does most of his surgeries at the Timberlyne clinic. Although dissolving sutures are used to close the interior incision, surgical glue is used to close the outer layer of skin. This means both that there is no need to return to have any sutures removed and also that, when fully healed, the scar on the abdomen is virtually invisible. The surgery went smoothly and our puppy was ready to be picked up even a bit earlier than they had estimated. We were given extensive information about post-operative care and encouraged to call if we had any questions or concerns, especially during the first 24 hours. Although things went smoothly once we brought our dog home, we did become a bit concerned a couple of days later when she experienced some diahrrea. Although the vet who performed the surgery was not at the clinic that day, we saw another vet who examined her and was professional and reassuring. When we went to the desk to pay the bill, we were told that there would be no charge because it was being treated as a post-surgery courtesy visit. Please note that, although we rated the cost of services a "C" --- meaning "Fair" --- that is merely our sense. We have been pleased with the level of care there and so have not "shopped around" and do not know whether other vets are more or less expensive.

Too many appointments to describe, but the last appointment went well. My dog had a number of skin growths removed and all went well.

Dr Smith saw our elderly dog as a new 'patient'. He was very thorough despite the multitude of problems a dog of this age tends to have. He came up with a great plan and communicated with us very clearly.

What are you to do when a cherished family member is injured? I have gone to Just for Cats for at least eight years. They are excellent doctors and surgeons. I have and will continue to recommend them. It's a little expensive but well worth it.

Dr. Tara Kip is unusual in that she makes you feel as if she has a very special place in her heart for your dog. My dogs LOVE going to see her, they get so excited. I could not even get them to go into a Vet's office in the past.

THE DOG SEEMS HAPPY WHEN HE COMES BACK TO US. THEY DO A GOOD JOB MAKING SURE THAT THEY FEED HIM AND GIVE HIM A CHANCE TO WALK EVERY DAY. I DON'T LIKE LEAVING MY DOG ANYWHERE, BUT I HAVE BEEN HAPPY WITH THEM.
