+ -1 moreWorkmanship is very good. Professionalism could use some polishing. Got defensive when asked for itemized break down of costs/estimate; said it would take him an entire day. Turns out it only took a few hours and thus he made out better than most lawyers when you consider cost of supplies and labor/hr.

+ -1 moreThis was a small job--we needed to repair our dresser. Instead of throwing the dresser out, we thought it would be more environmentally conscious to repair it. Jim was willing to take on our small job, completed it quickly, and was a pleasure to work with. He gave us multiple estimates for different repair options, so he didn't lock us into the highest cost work. We appreciated that. I would recommend him!

+ 1 moreJim built a magnificent dining room table for us, from a batch of curly maple he acquired locally. I wanted a trestle table; his design was much more elegant and offered the same kneecap-saving style. Little touches like the lock-in hardware that pulls the leaves in tight, and the feet that keep it from marring the wood floor, add to the satisfaction. Everybody who comes over says "Wow!"

+ 1 moreBoth pieces are custom fit to our family room and have transformed the area. Lines are clean and simple. Jim's work was meticulous. I was able to be somewhat flexible with timing between getting the estimate and drawing and the cabinetry work being ready to install.
Description of Work: Built bookcase with drawers and cabinet. It fits between two walls and goes up to the ceiling molding. Two years earlier, Jim had built an entertainment center with drawers and cabinets, in matching woods that fit into a closet size space, flush with the wall. The wood used was a close match for the maple color of my floor. He placed cutouts for pre-existing electric outlets, and he cut a discreetly placed opening to allow extension cords and media wiring.
