Harmony Restoration

Harmony had many good isead , artistic flair, and high knowledge of a variety of suitable plants. The plants furnished and delivered were of good quality. Most were planted well and in appropriate locations. The owners did not seem interested in routine mainentace, and did not follow up later in the season as we expected.

The first project went so well that we hired Ron again for the second project with no hesitation. Ron really cares about his work and went above and beyond on both our projects. He is very good at communicating and makes honest, thoughtful suggestions. Working with Ron was a pleasure. Ron and Liz did the design work and plant selections taking into consideration our input and preferences. For the first project, we were away in another state and worked with Ron via email. He was responsive to our questions and worked the project diligently. We were very pleased with how things were done and with the interesting mix of plants and their placement. The drainage problem that we were having was resolved with a practical low cost solution that Ron had suggested. The project for our new house was more extensive and the yard now looks wonderful. Having moved here from a colder climate, we again relied on Ron's expertise for what would work best here, but this time we were able to be onsite and watch a true master at work as things took shape. Ron exceeded our expectations when it came to the design, plant selection, and the actual prep work and planting. He ran into really tough, hard clay and had to do extra prep work and take special care with how he planted in our yard, but he put in the extra time and effort to do the job right. He and his crew all worked very hard and with great care...this was not a job we could have ever done on our own. Taking into consideration the expertise, the design effort, all the materials and plants supplied, and the hard work and many hours expended, both jobs were fairly and reasonably priced.

Ron Noel is wonderful to work with. With the help of his artistic wife, he has a great sense of nature and how to blend plantings with the beautiful trees and other natural growth in our area. His stone steps are incredibly beautiful and so sturdy. We had been worried about safety and now we have a beautiful entrance to our yard that welcomes people and does not endanger them!! He is very busy (and for good reason), so if you are patient, the work will get done and done beautifully. The irrigation system is a blessing and works very well. We are now getting our back yard landscaped. Ron also really talks over options and lets us have a say in what he is thinking so we can collaborate better on next steps. He will come back and replace plants if needed - although that is very rare. I can't recommend him enough!! His work is outstanding and the whole experience is a pleasant one. I find myself frequently walking around our yard just to enjoy the landscaping - so many varied and beautiful plants.

Original estimate was for $4554, with 3 days to complete the job.  At the end, it cost me $5539 (121%) and took 57 days to complete (April 7 start, June 2 completion).  The job did not change in any significant way from the first estimate.  I received no communication from them unless I contacted them, even if weeks would go by without me seeing anyone.  
     The gardening work may be good for this company, I am not sure of that, and I did not hire them for that.  Be very careful if you want grading or construction done by them, I believe that they use sub-contractors, and that some type of issues with their contractors is what caused the delays in my job.   I was told that my job was delayed for "weather" repeatedly, but it is not reasonable to believe that a 3 day job could be delayed by 53 days due to weather.

Ron was great to work with.  He and his team worked incredibly hard to lay a beautiful patio.  He was also very patient with us while we selected the type of stone, and he handled all the nitty-gritty.  Will definitely work with them again.

The project went really well. Ron was very knowledgeable and took a lot of time prior to the project planning it out to give us the best result. Price was reasonable--it's expensive, but I think that's just what this kind of thing costs because of the large amount of dirt, and the price was competitive compared to other quotes.  This was a project that was pretty difficult with a lot of mixed opinions from various landscapers, but I feel his experience, thoughtfulness, and final plan were excellent.

It took a little longer than first stated but the job was wonderful. Ron is very professional and pays great attention to detail. The grout came out lighter than expected and when i emailed to ask about it received a prompt response and explanation.
Would definitely recommend.

Ron and his partner love plants and their work.  They did an excellent job with our garden.  We loved his choice of plants and the overall layout and landscaping.  His prices were fair.  He worked very hard and tended to the garden from the initial placement of the plants as well as over several months as the garden became established.  His love for the work was evident by the fact that he actually transplanted one tree to a new site instead of simply cutting it down.
We had an old irrigation system that was complicated.  Ron sent a lot of time repairing the system to meet the needs of the new garden.
He stayed in touch with us throughout the project and paid close attention to our concerns.  We continue to work with him this spring as well.

Of all the workers who worked on my property this summer Ron Noel (Harmony Restoration) provided the best quality for the dollar spent. Hard working crew who could get the job done with great pride. Ron and his crew do exquisite natural stone work.. I recommend his work to anyone looking for value and quality.

I met with Ron and walked the property together several time before work began to go over all the details. During the initial meeting we identified all the work that I wanted to be done, and broke it down into phases. This review reflects "Phase 1" of that work, which while improved the look of our yard dramatically, I describe as mostly foundational, or functional, work.
The initial estimate I received from Ron seemed fair and we decided to proceed with the work. He laid out a time line for the work and did not deviate from that. All the work was completed on time. He and his team arrived promptly every day around 8:00 and would work well into the evening, departing usually between 5:00 and 6:00 pm. He always cleaned up the area as much as could be expected for an active work site.
Once the project began Ron discovered the initial amount estimated work for the side yard drainage would not be adequate, and instead of just going with the plan, he brought it to my attention, and he addressed the issue. Even though this cost more, he was willing to work with me on the pricing so as to not completely blow out his initial estimate. I found his pricing to be extremely transparent and am very pleased in that respect.
Overall, Ron is a professional. He and his crew are hard workers. They are punctual, respectful, and do quality work. That combined with the transparency in his costs is a winning combination and my wife and I plan on working with Ron in the future to make further improvements to our yard!

,Ron Noel and his crew did a terrific job for us over a several week period in the early-late spring of 2014.  Our backyard is on a steep slope overlooking a creek and the land fell away steeply beginning as close as 15-20 ft from the house.  They first installed a retaining wall, 4 ft at its highest, and ~100 ft long that integrated into a shorter, existing wall I had begun.  They then backfilled to create a more gently sloping flat yard and installed large Tennessee flagstones.  For an area designated to support an outdoor fireplace, the flagstones were cut to fit together closely, but for the majority of the area the stones were placed ~6 in apart.  These spaces were filled with good soil and a variety of groundcovers were planted.  A board walk was constructed to run the entire length of the house (replacing a gravel walk), and the area between the pavers and the walk were planted with a variety of plants, all designed to give the patio a Japanese-y look.
Ron & Liz prepared a plan at the beginning of the project, and followed our wishes closely.  In fact, the plan they created was a significant improvement on our vague ideas.  They were easy to work with, took suggestions and criticisms well, and were willing to be flexible.  All of the people who worked on the job at various times were friendly and outgoing, and they worked hard when on-site.  This was a rather large job and while we prefer not to give out the cost, we feel that we got a fair deal.  Ron had a contract for each phase of the project and stuck to the numbers.  We ended up very happy and are enjoying all of their hard work!

Their design was very good.  They were knowledgeable about native plants.  They gave us some good color in the spring and fall.  A couple of times they said they would come at a certain time but showed up later.  They were absolutely fantastic.  The price was really good.

Before contracting with Harmony, I visited a few of their previous jobs and liked what I saw.  I could not be more pleased with Ron and Liz and their results.  I had a feel for what I wanted, but with little knowledge of plants of this area, I depended on them to make the selections.  I wanted some color year round and a design that would provide some privacy, and they made it happen.  Their company name is certainly appropriate, for they create lovely landscapes.

It went very well. I would use them again.

The project went very well under difficult circumstances. 

Most of my landscaping was over 30 years old.  Some large plants had died in the drought, leaving gaps, and some were overgrown.  I definitely had one of the ugliest yards in the neighborhood.  I was particularly impressed by the respect they showed for my existing plants and any sentimental attachments we had.  They didn't just start over.  Rather they saved my mature plants, moving  or pruning them when necessary, and integrated them into the new vision.

When Ron found out that I was also having my brick sidewalks redone, he immediately saw the potential for integrating the sidewalks and plantings into a beautiful, peaceful whole.  He laid out the curves for the brick mason and was very good about working around the brick mason's schedule so that each could work efficiently without conflict. 

Ron worked on my project during the winter.  When we faced sub-freezing weather, they added extra mulch, wrapped the plants to protect them from cold, and promised to replace any plants that didn't survive.  Some things will have to wait until spring.

Elizabeth approached the yard with true inspiration and selected gorgeous, unique, but practical plants to create a harmonious whole.  Now when I walk down my curving, woodland walks, I find treasures at every turn.  I can't wait until spring and summer to see what my yard looks like in bloom, but Elizabeth picked the plants to be beautiful year round.  Even in February I love walking through my new yard. 

I first thought the name "Harmony Restoration" was a bit hokey, but that is truly what they did to my yard.
