Camp Ruthie LLC

Wonderful! It was very much a "home" for our dog, bonding with her pets. It's a contemporary, clean, ordered home in Chapel Hill which welcomes the comradery of other pets. Owner Ruth has a way with pets which is adorable! She also does pet walking and care-taking. Licensed and bonded.

In home visits: Ruthie comes to my house to feed, walk, and socialize with my dog while I am at work. She will administer medication when needed. Plus, she brings in the paper and mail.

Day care: When I am away for longer periods, Ruthie provides day care in her pleasant home. She is terrific about working with my timeline and has often provided pick up and drop off services, which is a blessing when you are on a tight schedule.

Overnight boarding: Ruthie provides a safe and comfortable home away from home.

Ruthie upholds high standards for safety, punctuality, and cleanliness. 

I love Ruthie, but more importantly my dog absolutely adores her and that provides me with peace of mind while I am away.

I have great trust in Camp Ruthie. My dog considers her a second family. Ruthie is professional, reliable and compassionate and is great at communicating with parents. If I forget to contact her that we have arrived home, Ruthie contacts us. Her care and concern for our pet is insurmountable. When away, I feel at ease knowing my dog is happy and safe. I will be a loyal customer for years to come.

Price lower than competition!

From starting out very apprehensive about leaving my beloved pet, I became totally confident that he was in the best of hands. In fact, he had a new friend that he and I both trusted to be my alter ego. If anything went wrong (like throwing up on the rug) I got an immediate notice. When something happy happened, I learned of that as well. I have used this service for over a year now, and it has all been excellent. Reliable, caring, professional. The best. She takes great photos also!

Teddy is really comfortable and happy with Ruth.  She's like his second "Mom."  He has also boarded at her home on multiple occasions and enjoys hanging out with her two little dachshunds.  He is much better cared for at Camp Ruthie than at a kennel - more like a 'home away from home."  Ruth's Boutique Boarding service at her home is perfect for my dog!

I think of Camp Ruth as a Boutique Boarding service.  I checked and it is the ONLY NC State Licensed Home Boarding Facility in Chapel Hill or Carrboro.  Ruth keeps it exclusively for dogs who are well socialized, very gentle, and crate trained.  My very loved dog Dutch is older and has serious health issues as many older dogs do.  Many of Ruthie' doggie guests are repeaters, and the dogs do spend much of the day together with their friends including Ruth's two small doge.  So, for me Dutch is not  just a happy camper, but he has become an honorary camp counselor!  Ruth periodically sends me photos and updates.  They help me know he is enjoying his stay while I am enjoying traveling.

I have full trust in Ruth.  More than once she has gone to my home to collect supplies when my trip was extended.  She is on Dutch's record at his vet so I know she can take him in for treatment if needed.

She is responsible, professional, efficient and especially compassionate. My cat was miserable and lost weight last year at a veterinary kennel. What an improvement! It is such a relief to not worry about him when I have to be away from home. In setting up our relationship, Ruth covered so many details that I never thought of, such as how I wanted her to handle any possible emergencies. I couldn't be happier. I am an older person and very fond of the cat, so this solution has been a life saver. Thank you, Camp Ruthie! I marked B for cost, but it is entirely worth it.

Quite well. Ruth was very professional and responded to texts, emails, etc. that we sent to her while gone. Our dog appeared much happier than when he has gone to a kennel to be boarded.

Excellent and friendly service - Absolutely dependable to do what needs to be done and more. Ruth is experienced and knowledgeable and loves pets. She does a great job and with friendly and helpful communications. We have used her services multiple times this year and will continue to do so - Murphy the cat is highly pleased too!
