Bob did a reasonably good job with his craft although he charged more than some of the competition.  We continued to use his services because he was recommended to us, but as time went on, he began to behave unprofessionally and was increasingly rude to my wife.  I called to discuss this with him and he was rude to me.  There is very little value to having a rude and expensive handyman.  I would not recommend him to anyone.

I ended up waiting about 3 months, which is when the paper bill was mailed to me with a threat to send me to small claims court. I called my landlord to see if he was trying to bill her, too. Sure enough, he sent her a bill too. I told her not to pay for it because I would. A few days later, I called the handyman, Jim Harris. He said he had sent me another bill and assumed I avoided it. I told him we had agreed on email because I'm more available that way. We put it down to a misunderstanding. Now the bill has been paid and there has not been a problem since then.

The work went just as planned. The technician did a good job installing everything. We were told that an invoice would be sent within a few days. When we received the invoice it was for $115. This equates to 2hr 36min. When my girlfriend called to ask about the total cost she was informed that we are responsible for paying the time it takes the technician to drive to our house and back to work; also at the $44 an hour price. So when the technician leaves the office, your clock starts, when he returns your clock stops. This business is in Chapel Hill as are we, there is no way it takes a 1hr 6min to commute back and forth.
I then made a phone call to inquire myself. Bob did not answer so I left a message asking if he could please call me back and explain the process and total charge. He did not call me back, but instead texted back the following message:

and quot;I will drop it to $100. You are getting a bargain either way...grow up!and quot;

To sum things up, good service and quick response to work request, however very poor billing procedures and horrible and unprofessional communication skills.
