We contracted with VIP Home Inspections with the purchase of our home in Clayton, NC. We were very satisfied with the thorough inspection done by Ken. He was extremely professional in noting any problems he found, noting minor as well as potential serious problems he found. My husband appreciated the detailed pages of minor problems that we could use as a check off list to repair ourselves. Any potential serious items he found we will seek out professional services to repair. The final report was very complete, and we are happy with the results Ken found. Thank you VIP!

My townehome inspection with VIP went perfectly. The services were easy to schedule, (they managed to squeeze me in 2 days after I called) and the office manager was able to talk through a couple of different options for my situation and needs. They were also the only inspection folks I called that had options when it came to price and services instead of a flat price. I wound up choosing the interior and mechanical inspection, as well as pest, for a litte less than $400. They were early, completely prepared, very thorough, and had my inspection report ready as we we're leaving!! No waiting, no questions unanswered. I'm a big fan of VIP and will be using them exclusively in the future, I would highly recommend!

This is a review for a home inspection done by Ken Rentz last year. He was extremely thorough and the report he provided was detailed. We ultimately backed out of the home purchase because the seller could not adequately answer many of the questions we asked based on Ken's report. She assured us different items were "already looked at" or "addressed" yet she couldn't provide any invoice or documentation of this work. We are currently looking for a home again and plan to use Ken for our next inspection.

I was skeptical at first because of the cost and the requirement to sign a contract in advance.  But this was the highest quality inspection I've seen.  The house was only 10 years old, but the report ran to 90+ pages with lots of good details.  The inspector was very helpful and informative.  He was very observant and analytical, uncovering not only subtle water spots but their probable causes.  I'd use these folks again.

Inspector was on time. When we pointed out some various issues with home, he intitally made some comments about typical construction.   Not what we wanted to hear.  Inspector should error on the side of homeowner and be our advocate.  Documented results with pictures and a report was provided within 4 days.

I had Ken complete the inspection for me.  He did a very good job and was very thorough.  He was right on time for the inspection and got started right away.  I tried to stay out of his way and ask questions at the end as i didn't want to interfere.  He takes pictures of everything and makes lots of notes.  He also conducted a home radon test.  The price included the inspection, the radon test, and the termite inspection.  At the end of the inspection he walked me through all of his findings, and physically showed me any issues.  He was very frank and upfront with any issues.  When i received the inspection report and summary there were no issues or surprises.  The only thing i noticed with the summary and report, was that they are very careful with liability and for every issue they clearly state that any issue should be checked or handled by a professional. Overall as a first time home buyer it was a pleasant and smooth experience for me.  I would recommend them.

They were fine. They were good and they seemed to be very thorough. They took photographs and documented everything. I accompanied the inspector and he did a really good job of explaining the things that he found and putting them in in context as to in terms of how severe they were. I felt like I was very informed.

Upon contacting them for a quote, I received that within a day. I was able to schedule within just one more day and pretty quick, too, given it's the busy season.
Tyler Williamson, our inspector, arrived exactly on time (I mean exactly - to the :00 on the clock) and spent 3 hours inspecting our house on a *very* hot and humid day. After he went through everything, he walked us through all the items he found, with photos, and explained everything, why it would be in the report, etc. 
When we asked if we'd get the report in 3-4 days as stated in the paperwork, he said "You'll have it tomorrow before I head out for the day." My husband and I commented to each other that this would probably be an 'over promise' and we'd just wait for it in 3-4 days, but it arrive before 9am the very next day! This will allow us plenty of time to get work done to get the house on the market!
Throughout the process, everyone I spoke to was incredibly professional, responsive, timely and did exactly what they said they'd do and faster than I even expected.

Estimated time went longer than predicted, but work was done well.  Price was reasonable for work completed, workers were extremely professional as well as offered great ideas beyond what we imagined on our own, and we have already used them for other work as proof that we'd recommend them.

He was terrific. He was very thorough and found some areas of concern that needed to be addressed. He was prompt with appointment times and documentation and was also very courteous. He provided documentation of inspection within 24 hours.

Ken Rentz came to inspect the house. He explained what he would look for and how it would be done. He recorded all information on his computer and, when he was finished, he explained all of his findings to us at the house. He then provided a very detailed and readable report with impressive photographs of all of the problems. This made it very easy to communicate with the sellers. Ken was very thorough and professional. We highly recommend him.

Ken does an excellent job.  Very professional and has been important bits of information to pass on.  Would definitely use again.
