Note: After our "One Star" refinishing job I looked closely for information in the public domain regarding Tri Point: 1.It appears all of the "0ne Star" Google Reviews are omitted from the collection of Google Reviews found at Tri Point's website. I feel mislead as this info would have influenced my decision to hire Tri Point. 2. BBB rating of B- for apparently failing to respond to a 2022 complaint. I think the complaint alleges Tri Point's refusal to honor its one year warranty. You'll have to reach your own conclusion. The "One Star" Rating Such a poor score and detailed explanation could confuse readers of this review so I'll begin by simplifying with 3 bullet points: 1) the attached photos tell the story, 2) in his response to my review Owner admits "The floor did not reflect our usual quality of work" and 3) in order that our floors be brought up to industry standards we must go through the entire process again of packing up our entire first floor belongings and moving them and furniture into storage, disconnecting washer/dryer, moving out of our home for a week, thoroughly cleaning all the dust when the job is done and moving back in. Failure to Properly Refinish Hardwood Floors A day after the job was "completed" we observed uneven staining in every room. Owner visited and acknowledged this problem and speculated it was due to using a "contaminated" applicator. He said the entire floor would need resurfacing and application of sealer. We had to move back in to our home so couldn't vacate for a 2nd consecutive week. The 1st refinishing required everything to be moved out of the first floor and us to leave for a week. Upon return we spent hours cleaning up fine dust throughout our 1st and 2nd floors. We were told refinishing would take no more than 4 days and now it would end up taking two weeks. We weren't led to believe that the irregular staining compromised the floor's performance in any way. But then a couple days later we noticed an entirely different and more troubling problem; peeling of the new surface. Now it seemed there was a greater sense of urgency to do something. So I brought this problem to Tri Point's attention and asked to see a copy of the warranty (their website says what the warranty doesn't cover but it doesn't say what is covered or how repairs are made) and requested Owner to come and thoroughly inspect the floor to identify problems that were covered under the one year warranty that is purportedly provided with our contract. Owner responded to this by stating, "We were terminated ...We have no further obligations to you. Your warranty is void. No further communication is needed." A warranty is one's best protection against negligent performance and outcomes that fall short of industry standards. Problems with Installation of Baseboard Rather than using wood filler to cover nails holes they smeared caulk to only partially cover the holes while making a mess on the baseboard. Before the new baseboard can be painted we will first have to remove all this caulk and properly cover nails with wood filler. Communication Very poor. For example, we were not told that when the old shoe molding (aka 1/4 round) was replaced with new molding there would be a visible unpainted gap along the baseboard. We spent days taking care of this prior to commencement of refinishing. Owner's Response Following the posting of my review Owner sent me an e-mail in which he has has asked me to "...remove all online reviews" in exchange for "giv[ing] [me] detailed warranty info, ...". It doesn't seem right that I should have to barter in order to find out what the warranty covers and how repairs under the warranty are handled. I paid for this warranty and can't understand why Owner won't freely share the information I've requested. Owner may have violated Google regulations by posting my name in his review. Google states "Do not ...post personal information [full/last name] of another without their consent such as: full/last name, ..." His interest may be to harass me & threaten my safety so I'll remove my review.

I vetted, interviewed, and took bids from the top 5 floor refinishing firms in the Triangle. Not only was Tri-Point’s pricing aggressive, not only were references and reviews sterling, but there turned out to be unexpected benefits in engaging them for my project. They kept every promise they made, showing up on time and finishing the job ahead of schedule, despite a 3-hour delay due to a power loss that had nothing to do with them. The work itself was flawless and we couldn’t be happier with the outcome. Unlike their competitors, their estimate includes an allowance, to be used at the customer’s option, for touch-up or minor repairs (although none were needed because they took such meticulous care in their work). Every one of their competitors required the replacement of flooring sections because of several pet stains, but Tri-Point managed to sand them out. They were excited to text that this accomplishment would save me $250 (I was out of town so I wouldn’t have known whether or not they replaced the boards). Their approach to every task was professional, responsive, and detail-oriented. You cannot go wrong using this company.

Roberto and his crew were punctual, professional, and did an amazing job on our floors. They earned us that they might not be able to get all of the scratches out due to the depth, but they did! They also originally quoted us for some transition pieces, but were able to use the existing pieces.

Tri-Point completed the measurements and had a quote back to us within 10 hours. Once they arrived on the first day, the crew evaluated the condition of the sub floor, made repairs and completed the work quickly. All-in-all, Tri-Point made the whole process painless. They replaced two sections of damaged sub flooring and leveled our sun room floor. The sun room had a slope that went from 1/8" all the way to 1/2" below the other floors. The crew did a fantastic job. I am very pleased with the quality of service and the honesty of the whole crew. I will hire them again for additional work.

We were very pleased with the entire process, from the showroom to the installation. The work was done in a professional manner. The installers listened to my concerns about certain pieces of wood and replaced them. They spent the time to look through boxes to find a piece long enough to fit in front of our fireplace. There were no problems with damage to walls or baseboard. They worked very hard and diligently to get the job, living room, dining room, entry, done in on day.The price was competitive with other companies we spoke to.

Absolutely horrible! The main floors were stained the WRONG color and there are multiple shoe prints and what looks like circular prints from a stain can being set down all over the floor. They also got stain all over our wood trim, brick fireplace, and bathroom tile. The owner said there was nothing he could do since the stain was already dry. So now we have to live with wood floors that are the wrong color and that have shoe prints and circular marks all over them. He still tried to charge us the full price. I was appalled. It took a few days of negotiating for him to agree to discounting $400 off the price. We shouldn't have paid home a dime considering how shoddy the finished work is. We will NEVER use them again and will be warning everyone we know about how horrible they are.

Roberto first met with me to provide an estimate and was extremely friendly and professional. I gave him my situation (selling our home and needed new carpet) and he worked with me to get the price and type of carpet I needed. On the day of the install, I had left the home because we had animals. Roberto's team was done with the job quicker than expected and when I returned home, I could not tell that anyone had been in my home (with the exception of beautiful new carpet!). Everything was clean and put back where it was when I left. I mailed my check to him and was promptly provided with an emailed receipt. This process was much easier than I had anticipated!

Roberto the owner and Andrew his assistant, where hands on the entire time.  The workers were reliable, professional, incredibly hard workers and responsive.   They were very careful moving my furniture and I was amazed how they were able to work in areas entirely filled with furniture.  When I voiced my dissatisfaction with one of the wood planks, I thought is was darker than the other ones, they replaced it without any hesitation although the wood was already glued down in place.  The workers did a beautiful job throughout my entire condo, and were attentive to details.  They stained the Shoe Molding almost exactly to the color of the hardwood.
They put felt protection under each furniture piece.  All my neighbors commented on how nice and considerate the workmen were.  They had to work outside my condo, cutting the wood.  The price was more than reasonable and there were no surprises when it came time to pay the bill, it was exactly what had been quoted to me.   I could tell the pride Roberto and Andrew have in their company.
I would highly recommend this family owned company to anyone that wants to have a job well done.

We have used Tri-point flooring to do oak floors in 3 rental houses, the most recent being a 55-year-old house with lots of nail
holes from old carpet. They did a good job of filling the holes and evening out the color. The floors look really gorgeous.

I am absolutely thrilled I chose the best hardwood guys, bar none! Roberto & his team prides themselves in impeccable craftsmanship & service while maintaining cost competitiveness.
I quoted several competitors both locally-owned and the bigger guys, the competition didn't come close to TPF's support, assistance & competitive price point. TPF was on-time, flexible and extremely thorough.
With any home improvement project a homeowner may worry over fine print and unwelcome surprises? There were no surprises and if anything came up, I was asked ahead of time.
They were extremely patient and knowledgable while I chose hardwood and deciding between site-finished and factory-finished. Roberto provided an option that I didn't realize was available & it was exactly what I had envisioned.
Many thanks again!! I'm so very glad I was referred to you!!

The job went great.  I can not say enough about the coordination and communication by the field estimator/coordinator/liason/etc.  I could not believe the crew of 4 men completed all of the work above through the first finish coat in about 7 hours.  Everything looks great.
He readily removed cost from the estimate when he determined that a new subfloor was not required.

The new and existing floors are gorgeous, including previously worn spots near the front door, dings where the dog had played with heavy bones in the dining room, and water-damaged areas in the half bath.  The company was easy to work with, friendly, and responded quickly.   They provided sage advice on what finish to use and how to manage areas around the fireplace.  I would highly recommend them and would use them again.

I've used Tri-Point Flooring to install both hardwood floors and carpet in my house. Roberto responded to my inquiry immediately both times. With the hardwood floor project, I called several vendors and Roberto was the only one to call me back the same day and give me a quote. For the carpet project, I only called Tri-Point Flooring. The pricing is very reasonable and the work is excellent. Both times the work was scheduled within about a week. I highly recommend Tri-Point Flooring and would definitely use them again in the future.

We hired Roberto to lay oak flooring in our master bedroom that had been covered with a hideous carpet.  We had to reschedule a couple of times and the company was very forgiving and worked with our schedule.  They showed up on time, and did an amazing job!  The wood we purchased was top quality and that is what was installed.  We've heard horror stories from folks who used other providers and did not get the same quality of wood they thought they purchased.  The other thing we were very impressed with was during our initial search.  They were closed the day we wanted to start looking, but Roberto happened to be outside the building.  He opened up his shop for us and spent a good deal of time showing us wood and explaining the process.  That was probably the main reason chose Tri-Point.  We would hire them again without a doubt.

We have used Tri Point Flooring several times, most recently to install new hardwood floors in our bonus room.

Thanks again, we plan to use Tri Point Flooring again soon.
