The Umstead Hotel & Spa

They're very, very good. They're very friendly and knowledgeable. They have beautiful quality and very relaxing.

I've always enjoyed the services I've received at the Umstead Spa. Their atmosphere is wonderful (but that is the reason they tend to be more expensive!) - plan to arrive early, bring a book, and enjoy the steam rooms, saunas, and "lounging areas." The facial and massages that I've received were pretty much the same quality that you'd receive at any top of the line spa. I will say, though, that my pedicure was very, very good - I am a runner and my feet can be challenging, but my pedicure was excellent. It was very pricey and I had a gift card, so I am not totally sure I'd get it again unless I REALLY needed it, but it was excellent!

Overall it was excellent! Will definitely go back!

The massage was really relaxing and even better, with any spa service you can spend as much time as you want in the whirlpool, sauna, relaxation room, etc. The ambiance and beauty of the area out the windows, along with the little services like tea, snacks, comfortable chairs, etc. made for a wonderful day.

The Umstead spa is absolutely beautiful and a wonderful place to escape every day stress. When booking a service you are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy the amenities. This is a must as the whirlpool, lounge, steam room, and locker room are all available. The prices are much higher than anywhere else in town, but for a special occasion spending time at this spa is really a treat.

It was not our first time visit. Our last visit there went very well overall. We would tell others that it is very nice pampering. They have a couple's area where you can hang out together in-between our treatments. They quite honestly even try to accommodate us together as a couple during each and every one of our treatments, which different places we have gone to have not always been able to do. If we are both getting a massage, it is actual a couple's massage together. If we are both getting a wrap, it is all done together. They definitely help us. They are very pricey for what we get. We may use them for an annual or an every few years spurge, but not on a regular basis.

The Umstead Day Spa is spectacular. It is very clean, quiet, the staff is great, and the atmosphere is very relaxing. I feel like I'm truly in another world when I'm there. This was my second visit and I cannot wait to go again.
