Reinert Custom Construction & Remodeling

The job began badly when they started after the promised start date. They constantly failed to make deadlines and made excuses. Every time they were here they left a huge mess throughout the house. Which included paint, sanding dust, tools, and debris. We had to hire a professional cleaner on several occasions just to tolerate living in the house. At the time the job was in full swing with several subcontractors working at our house, Charles Reinert disappeared on what was supposed to be a 1 week vacation….he just never came back. He left his staff, which included his inexperienced son in charge of the project. On several occasions we had questions and his staff was unable to help us and was unable to reach Charles Reinert and this went on until the end. On several occasions we could only reach the subcontractors currently at our house and they were also unable to contact Charles Reinert. Things really started going bad when the drywall and painting subcontractors started. It was a single individual put in charge of doing the job of a team. That painter was the worst! He made messes everywhere, he couldn’t caulk anything correctly, everything was done sloppy. The drywall people did not properly prepare the construction space which left drywall dust throughout the whole house. Charles Reinert’s son on several occasions admitted that the job had been improperly done and that he wasn’t qualified. Furthermore in front of the painting contractor, his son was lectured in front of us that the job was not properly prepared. Also his son told us directly on several occasions that this was the worst job he has ever seen. Imagine how we felt after spending thousands of dollars on this job that our own contractor told us this was the worse work they have ever done. We requested SEVERAL times to have it fixed and NO ONE from Reinert Construction would help us. Any attempt to fix the problems just made things worse. We had to hire another contractor to fix the repairs, because Reinert was unavailable, refused or unwilling to fix the problems correctly caused by their poor work. Several of Reinert's subcontractors told us that Charles Reinert did not approve for them to fix the job correctly. In the course of Charles Reinert and his subcontractor working at our home they damage our front entryway, destroyed landscaping, damaged our stairway and walls. They never came back and corrected the mistakes after they gave us the final bill and we were left with several thousands of dollars in repairs. We caught several invoicing errors in which we were double billed several items. We don’t want another family to experience this nightmare.
