+ -1 moreMy inquiries with the watch servicer/jeweler was very attentive, professional and above all very frank & informative. His general advice after an extended and patient discussion: Don't do any service or cleaning for now. He described any symptoms that may occur, indicating a likely problem(s) that may require the watch to be serviced or possibly replaced, contingent on the price. Since he owns the same Seiko model, I'm strongly inclined to accept his advice. In any event, when I return in the future with concerns about my watch, as to whether it can be repaired, serviced or cleaned, I'll almost certainly get the work accomplished at Johnson's Jewelers of Cary. That, or purchase a new watch from them. Why? Because of the patient and frank opinions of the jeweler. Literally a Cary business jewel. Outstanding.

+ 0 moreIf you are looking for a jeweler with a slick showroom and sparkling lights, this is not the place for you. If you are looking for tons of part-time employees who started selling jewelry two weeks ago, this is not the place for you. Shiny display cases? No. If instead you want a small, well-established, family-owned store with personable employees, THIS IS THE PLACE. I had an old watch that was a gift that needed cleaning and a new battery, and the lady was very clear up front about what they could and could not do, and what it would cost. I got my watch back, cleaned up and running, and they only charged me $7. That is cheaper than Wal-Mart and a whole lot faster. This is the kind of place I want to know about if I need anything done on rings and watches.

+ -1 moreBoth times the work was completed within 15 minutes, including on one very busy day when it was hard to find a place to stand out of the way in the store. Everyone in the shop was very courteous, and the price was very good.
Description of Work: Over the course of 2 visits in July, Johnson's Jeweler's replaced 4 watch batteries and removed links for one watchband for me.

Although I decided not to repair the wristwatch at this time, the provider did not charge me for the assessment. I would DEFINITELY be happy to use Johnson's Jewelers for any future needs. They are first rate professionals and delightful to do business with.

+ -1 moreCame in and they took the watch back right away after he finished a long transaction with a customer that was already there. I waited while he sat down and did the work - replaced the battery, set the time, polished it up, and I was gone....they politely asked if they could show me anything but no pressure. Wonderful little place.
Description of Work: I had a Movado watch with a dead battery. Took it to Jared and they said it would have to be sent away to get replaced and would cost about 65 dollars and take 3 weeks. As I needed it today I asked if she knew of any place local that might do this on site....she hemmed and hawed and said no....I looked on Yelp and found Johnsons - they are in a tiny little unassuming brick building near the downtown square in Cary. Called them and they said they were short-handed due to the weather but if I brought it in they would do it today. I was there in 15 minutes....they were very busy but they still found time to do it while I waited....maybe 1/2 hour in total....would have been 15 mins under normal circumstances. The price 7 seven bucks. Nicest most friendly and polite people you ever want to meet....knew most of the customers who came in by name.

+ -1 moreI got a new watch from an online retailer. I spent about 45 minutes trying to remove one of the links to resize it. I finally threw in the towel and decided to seek professional help. I found Johnson's Jewelers online. Explained to the nice lady at the counter that I needed help getting my watch resized. She helped me figure out how many links needed to be removed. I was in and out in 10 minutes. Everyone was professional and nice. It was the best $5 I've spent in a while. I would go back to them again.
