Better than one could ask. They showed up when they said and did exactly what they were supposed to do. All work was done in a clean and professional way. These guys did a great job from beginning to end. They did a little more than we contracted and did not nickel and dime me on any. When done the house looked like it did when new. Honest and hard working.

Great! Stu, Juan, and Walter were so nice. My Dad was here while they were painting and he really liked them and the quality of their work. They were very careful and cleaned up everything. The house looks fabulous! Stu was awesome to work with from quote to follow up!

Stuart and his team did on excellent job. He was present on site 95% of the time and kept a watchful eye on the sub-contractors. He is a very good communicator, sets high standards for himself and others, and keeps on until the customer is 100% satisfied. He and his workers were very punctual and kept the working area extremely clean & tidy. Itwas a pleasure to have them in our house.

Stuart,  from the first contact, was most responsive, a great listener and communicator, very detailed, a perfectionist, answered all my questions quickly, incorporated all of my wishes, always on time, and on the project most of the time, even working on weekends so that we could be finished in a month. His lovely wife, Julie, came to the rescue to offer her great advice on color selection, Since we planned to invert two walls in the kitchen, my husband and I wanted to get a Town permit. Stuart was the only contractor we interviewed to be excited about that prospect and hired an engineer to develop the plans. We passed the Town inspection with no problem. Stuart did a great deal of the work himself, and he and his helper worked well together, were extremely conscientious and most pleasant to have around. Stuart's support cast, electrician and plumber, were excellent and most responsive as well. The work area was always left in excellent shape when they left in the evening. Stuart and his crew worked very hard everyday they were here. He worked well with the cabinet builder and countertop installer, coordinating all of the components of the renovation. He also had great suggestions for other aspects of our home upgrades that we have since had completed. We absolutely love the finished product! Stuart is wonderful.  He listens and pays attention to detail.  And he communicates frequently so that you know- and are involved- in the decision-making along the way.

Everything was fantastic!  Stuart, the owner, looked after every aspect of the renovation.  He and his wonderful wife Julie helped us with the planning and made sure our kitchen was everything we wanted it to be.  We have new, fresh everything--custom cabinets, counters, etc.  It looks just amazing and is every bit the practical, creative space we wanted our kitchen to be.  If a kitchen remodel can be a terrific experience despite the owners' being without a kitchen for a few weeks, I'd say we had it in spades.  In fact, we are so pleased that we've asked (read:  begged) Hawthorn Hill to do several additional renovation projects on our home.  We definitely recommend.

A big thanks to Hawthorn Hill.  We recently purchased a home and wanted major modifications made.  These changes included collaborating with a consulting engineer to vault a bedroom ceiling adding an additional 9 ft of height.  Hardwood flooring was added through most of the house. A wall was removed to open up the living and dining room. Hawthorn Hill also more than doubled the size of the pantry. Excellent coordination of plumbing and mechanical changes were provided to make our kitchen renovation go very smoothly. 
Thanks to Stuart and his crew for being responsive, flexible and very helpful.  I especially like how the house was always left clean and safe. I look forward to using them again for upcoming projects!

They were wonderful. Everything was good. The communication was right there all the time. They worked with us as far as leading us to show us windows and explaining. There were no surprises. If there were any concerns or questions, he answered them. He was very prompt with his answers.

The crew arrived on time, performed their work, and cleaned up well each day. The scraping was very thorough and looked smooth after repainting. All the minor wood repairs were done in a high quality manner. Quoted and invoiced price was very reasonable. This is our second time working with Stuart's company and we would work with them again for sure.

Stuart the owner visited us to review the scope of the job. We asked him to return for a follow-up with additional questions and details. The quote came soon after and at a better price than our other two quotes. Once we agreed to a start date, the demolition and removal occurred in a timely manner. The concrete footings were poured and the deck was constructed soon after. Job site was left tidy each and every day. Then the framing was done and the roof created for the enclosed portion of the deck. Stuart was excellent to work with as we reviewed the daily progress and worked through small design details. He was personally on site over 95% of the days that work was occurring. He had the same 1-2 additional workers with him each day. Everyone was cordial and respectful. Electrical work was subbed out and done to our specifications. Staining and painting was done well and resulted in a terrific looking finished product. We're very happy and have asked Stuart to return to quote additional work.

Our neighbors suggested to contact Hawthorn Hill about redoing our floors and some things in the kitchen. Stuart was very prompt in responding and coming by the house to take a look and discuss the work we wanted to get done. After he drew some things up to help us better understand the possibilities we came to a decision on what we wanted done. He then measured everything and provided us a quote within a couple days. In which he came over and went through the quote line by line to make sure all of it was what we wanted to do and to discuss the timeline of how long the project would take. We provided some dates that would work for us and he was very willing to work with us to get something in his schedule on the same timeline.
Before Stuart and his team started he made sure we understood the work schedule and to understand what we were comfortable with in regards to his team being in the house while we were not. His whole team was fantastic and we were very comfortable with them working while we were out of the house. They finished up the work on time (actually earlier than expected), and when we saw it for the first time it was like a whole new downstairs...beautifully finished hardwood floors all matching, perfect layout in the kitchen with the amazing looking granite counter-tops. Better than expected and definitely would recommend them for anyone looking to get floors or kitchen done, as they are reliable, affordable and a very friendly team. They truly blew our expectations out of the water!

The job went very smoothly from the design work all the way through to the finished deck. Stuart asked good questions to learn what we wanted. He came back and presented drawings to be approved. We were kept informed on the progress every step of the way. Without question, this is the best work that we have every had at our house.

It was a very smooth experience from start to finish! We are really enjoying our new bathrooms.

Hawthorn Hill has been a great company to work with. They were referred to us so we had them work on our master bath. We just had them back to paint our exterior. What made us feel comfortable was their willingness to work around our schedule and the way they explained what was going to happen. I'm sure we'll use them again.

Stuart came to the house, and we discussed what I wanted. He then came back a few days later to take measurements, and discuss my design ideas more specifically. After another week (only because he was on vacation) he came back with a finish sample of the cabinet, and the final design drawn up, for my approval. It took about two weeks for the piece to be constructed and delivered. On delivery day, Stuart showed up about an hour before the cabinet, so he could remove the old island and do the electrical for it. The island arrived, and was brought in the house and installed, with the butcher block. It was set in place, with my approval and secured. This all took about 1 1/2 hours. It looked beautiful when he left, and no mess was left behind.

They did a great job. We liked their services. I don't remember how much we spent but I know that they were reasonable. They are cost competitive. They are great people. They are very skilled and very honest. They have good management and good people skills. They are just good people. They are very good. We will use their services again in the future.

Contractor was recommended by a neighbor who was having similar work performed. She was very enthusiastic about the quality of work and congeniality of the supervisors and workers. Stewart Sherk provided a very professional assessment of the project and developed a very competitive bid. The work took 4 consecutive days. The team always arrived on time and worked diligently all day. All workers were very courteous and proficient. They were very conscientious, clean and careful not to damage any part of the house. They diligently completed the job on schedule even though we added several new tasks: adding a new vinyl floor covering to the laundry room, painting the garage entry door and repairing the rotten exterior trim board. Hawthorn Hill Builders are very easy to work with and did an outstanding job at a fair price. I will use them again myself and will refer them to my friends.
