Gary very quickly coordinated and managed a team of phenomenal subs, who rebuilt our damaged bathrooms and repaired ceilings, sub-floors, and walls. He also installed new plumbing fixtures, flooring, as well as molding and baseboard. His work is of great quality, with great attention to detail.

Very smoothly. Gary responded to my call, came out and gave an estimate, and started a few days later. Bathroom looks great—very pleased. The tile work is beautiful. Gary answers our questions, explained what he was doing, etc. He took care of the permit. For the materials we needed to get, he provided a very specific list. He cleaned up when he was finished.

Overall the project went very well. The contractor completed the project and dealt with the city inspectors very well. I would re hire on future projects.
Response from G Double Construction, Inc
"Thank you for the positive review. The City of Raleigh Inspectors created a lot of obstacles for us due to their inconsistency in their interpretation of the Building and Electrical codes for this basement project. We promptly addressed all issues plus kept our client informed on everything. Our client was very understanding of the challenges we had to contend with and we were able to complete the project to his satisfaction."

G Double was awesome to deal with. Gary came out on the first day and we talked about what we wanted done with the deck. Gary created plans and implemented the design as we discussed. G Double handled all inspections and building permits. Deck turned out awesome, my wife and I are very happy with the quality of work.

"Thank you so much for your kind words and support. I wish that I can post a picture of his deck right here so that I can share with everyone viewing this post... :-( These comments help my team and I keep focused and working hard to maintain good quality products and service. This also shows me that the nights I was up late personally designing and drawing this client's deck , paid off!!! Gary G Double Construction, Inc"

The job went well. It took approximately a day and a half to complete. The crew showed up on time and worked hard. The work was very labor intensive. We made a change to the project scope during the job, which G-Double responded to quickly. When completed, we had a fresh plywood floor ready for new flooring. The door was installed well and operated smoothly (our previous door was very difficult to lock). We have recommended G-Double to friends of ours.

Gary worked tirelessly to insure I was completely satisfied with all the work. I would use him again in a heartbeat. There was one bid that was lower but something made me think the guy was low-balling me. In contrast, I was particularly impressed with G Double's response. I knew exactly what I was getting and how much I would pay ... and that was what I paid. This was my best house project yet. I was so happy with the work that I recommended G Double to a couple of close friends at work.

Was not happy with quality and sub contractors and time management. Owner was professional this was the only thing that kept me from rating as an F

"I have to admit, my subs were off their game with this job. Unfortunately, I cannot always control the professionalism of others. All I can do is try, but it is up to the independent sub-contractor and material supplier to act. Gary G Double Construction, Inc"

The overall project went fairly well although I allowed Gary to convince me that no permit was needed. Now I realize that will be a problem when I try to sell. Main issues 1) had to insist that Gary add a gutter. He did not consult with me before adding a white gutter when all other gutters are bronze. 2) added a small concrete slab threshold outside of the entrance to the mudroom. Several months after the project was completed my tenant made me aware that water was coming into the room after a hard rain. I discussed this with Gary multiple times. He tried to add caulking to the bottom frame of the door. I informed him that the problem was not resolved. He promised to schedule time to add a grate between the concrete slab and the door and to add grading so the water would be directed away from the unit. He has not addressed the problem and has not responded to my reach outs.
Response from G Double Construction, Inc
"This is the same angry Client that gave me an "F" on 8/3/17. She has written this review 1 year and 4 months after the work was completed. That in itself is suspicious. For the rational thinking individual, my question is, if she is legitimately having issues with our work, why hire me to do another project worth $7,500? Why not get the Mason, who created the problem in the first place, back to install a drain? Why try so hard to be vindictive toward us? I don't understand that, especially after took care of all punch list items from each job we have completed. I don't get it...... Ugh!!"

This is my third project with Gary who is a nice guy. At first I though he was just suffering from poor project management skills. 1) does not manage sub contractors. I work from home and contractors would show up without Gary and ask what needed to be done. 2) lack of attention to detail. Gary purchased a sliding glass door without asking me about the hardware. My bathroom has a very modern decor with satin nickel hardware. The door arrived with antique copper hardware. When I brought it to his attention he promised to address. Later that day I went to close the door and found my hand covered with paint. His solution was to spray the handle stainless steel. It took him 4 weeks to replace the handle with satin nickel hardware. He also installed the screen door with a piece of the frame missing, which negated the purpose of the screens because bugs were able to get thru the gap in the frame. He only addressed after I brought it to his attention stating it had come that way. There was a gap between the top of the sliding glass door and the exterior siding of the house because the siding was cut too short for the door. When I first brought it to his attention he did nothing. When I refused to pay - due to the poor quality work - he did a sloppy patch job adding small pieces of poorly cut siding. He painted it and again I had to point out that there was still white ( I guess glue) showing. He promised to repaint but never did so. He also installed BLACK hardware on the courtyard gate without checking with me. This now has to be replaced to match the decor. Gary rarely arrives when he says he will. And he sometimes brings small children on site.
Response from G Double Construction, Inc
"To be truthful and honest, I want to say upfront that I am guilty of painting this client's hardware for her sliding glass door. I did it because the supplier did not have it in the color she wanted. I ended up having to order it from an outside company in Maryland that told me it would take 4 weeks to arrive. I told the client that when she discovered I had painted it. 1) Regarding the door handle to her fence, I dd install a black handle. When she said it was the wrong color, I replaced it the same day with the one she liked. 2) The paint touch up in question, was caulking that I painted over. I needed to put a 2nd coat over it. The last day I was at her home, it was raining so I could not apply the 2nd coat. Now regarding all the other character accusations listed, it is not 100% honest. If I was a incompetent and unprofessional contractor, why would This client ask me to cook a Caribbean meal for her Supper Bowl Party last year? Why would she invite my whole family to attend? Due to a prior obligation we did not attend but I cooked her and her Guest a BIG Caribbean spread!!! Why would she higher us 3 times? The little children I bring to the job are my boys who actually help me on the job the same way my father did for me. That is why Im a contractor today. In my contract, it states that there is a 12 month warranty on exterior work. She has drainage issue on a separate job that was created by another contractor. Her concrete contractor pour a driveway with the grading sloping toward the addition I did for her, with out any drainage. Water is getting into the addition I did for her. She wants me to fix it at my cost, which I refused to do. Since she is outside of her warranty period. Plus, she also withheld paying us $5000 for 4 1/2 weeks until the door handle was replaced as a punishment for painting the handle on the 3rd project. That action voided her Labor warranty too. When I brought all this to her attention, she posted this bad review. Judge for yourself who is mean spirited..... Gary G Double Construction, Inc"

Gary was a pleasure to work with. He gave a detailed, thorough estimate in contrast to the two other estimates we got, and his costs were reasonable and in line with the others. He communicated via email and text, showed up when promised, and followed through to complete the job in a timely manner. We appreciated his attention to detail and his thoughtfulness in performing our job in two phases so we could live in our home while the work was being done. We were very pleased with the job performed by his team, and would definitely hire him again.

We had damage in our garage due to a busted gas water heater. Called a water mitigation company to contain the damage. They cut open the drywall in a few places but said they would not repair the drywall. So after reading all the positive reviews on Angie's List, we called Gary Jeudy of G Double Construction. Gary came on time as promised, assessed the damage and assured us that he would repair the drywall, replace the insulation, reattach the baseboard, and paint the affected areas. He gave us a reasonable estimate and got to work the next day. Gary is a true professional. Not only did he do the work as promised, but he also cleaned up some other areas in the garage had damage, stains etc. He even moved the shelves in the garage back to their normal position and cleaned up well. I would definitely recommend Gary.

They were pretty efficient and the work was done fairly quickly and they were all inclusive. He was a general contractor so he had sub contractors working with him so he managed the whole project.

Gary (owner of G Double Construction) was the low bidder (3 bids submitted) for the job and I am extremely pleased with the quality of work as well as the working relationship during the construction project. He used high quality materials and made very helpful suggestions to my initial design. He was prompt in responding to the bid as well as prompt in completing the project. Given the quality of work on the porch, I asked Gary to also address some trim on the house that has suffered from water damage - he quickly addressed this for a very reasonable price. He is very professional and responsive to questions. I highly recommend Gary and G Double Construction!

Gary was the first contractor to respond to my inquiry and came in with the best quote. I was impressed with his professionalism, and honesty. This was our first time utilizing a contractor for such a big renovation and Gary was wonderful with us throughout the whole process. He was up front about the timing and what we could expect with living in construction zone and made sure that he and and his crew kept to the schedule given to us.
His main carpenter, Flavio was also extremely helpful and had no issues with working with us as we made small changes or added details throughout the process.
The whole process from starting with the deck construction to the finishing touches on the kitchen took approximately 8 weeks with about 2 weeks in between the deck build to the actual start on the inside of the house. Gary also waited until the day before the kitchen cabinets were delivered to tear out the main part of the kitchen so we were only without a usable kitchen for just under a week.
I would definitely hire Gary and his crew again and would recommend him to anyone looking for an honest, reliable contractor.

Gary was a pleasure to work with. He is a consummate professional with a commitment to customer satisfaction. His team went above and beyond to help me realize my vision. I was amazed by his calm demeanor and ability to creatively solve unexpected challenges.

In an industry overrun by scam artists, I was blessed to find Gary. I tell all my friends that I love my contractor! I'm still working my way through a fixer upper and I look forward to working with G Double on my future projects.

We have a small-ish hall bathroom that we completely remodeled: new bathtub with shower, new toilet, new vanity, sink, and mirrored cabinet. We tiled the walls to chair-rail height and completely tiled the tub area to the ceiling.
Gary acted as general contractor and brought in a plumber, a tiler, a painter, and someone to do the small stuff. The work went very smoothly. The price was excellent. The only issue we had was that it seems that Gary overloads himself, and he couldn't do the work as speedily as he originally promised. But the final result was beautiful. We would hire Gary again.

I make my comments based on my past expereice working with other builders and contractors (built 1 home and oversaw $160K of renovations across 3 other homes).  Gary was outstanding, quite possibly the best GC or builder that I have worked with.  First, before the project ever began, his communication and the detail of his proposal served as a good project plan and set expections for what we both expected of each other.  The project began on the day that was planned and finished ahead of my expectations despite a rather significant change order that I asked for midway through (which required a redo of a couple days work of work).  Gary's team used better dust and debris control techniques that previous GCs I've worked with.  Our kitchen and master bedroom stayed dust free and funtional throughout the renovaiton while the other half of our house was under construction.  The quality of the work was excellent (structurall, mechanical, exlectrical and asthetic).  The work followed plans from a structural engineer and each inspection was easily passed on the first try.  Gary scheduled the inspections promptly and took care of all permits.  The invoicing for the work was clear and fair.  Gary provided communication thorughout the project of when work crews would be coming to the house or next steps would be taken.

The guy came out and he kind of said yeah I can do a bunch with your bathroom.  He gave me a hand sketch.  We did not use him.  We are still looking for a contractor.  Other priorities have come in to play to take care of it that urgently.  I expected some kind of document and a price quote and a follow up.  I never heard anything after he left.

"Here is another example of why we stopped doing kitchen and bath consultations. Every bad review we have received on Angie's List is from individuals who have gotten kitchen and bath consultations only, not from anyone whom we have actually performed work for. I welcome criticism from individuals whom we have done work for because they help us identify where we are weak and need to improve, not from an individual whom we have never done work for but only provided an estimate. That type of criticism is misleading to the savvy Angie's List Member. Gary G Double Construction, Inc"

Gary did a great job changing my attic space to a spare bedroom. The whole job took around 4 weeks to complete and he was always there during various city inspections. I made several minor requests along the way and he had no problem accommodate them. The new room looks great and I can't be happier with the result. Highly recommended.

Project went from a cinder block walls to a complete family and media room with a full bath and 2 bedrooms
The finish work was very detailed and thorough, his list of subcontractors that completed specific modifications (Electrical and flooring) were excellent as well. The project was difficult due to space constraints and the age of our home but G Double contracting took extra time and ingenuity to complete the project
