DISCOVERY AUTOMOTIVE

It went quite well. I brought it in because the instrument cluster stopped working. It turns out that there is "known" defect in the BMW 535i, where water will get into the trunk, and the solution as per BMW is to simply drill holes in the trunk to let it drain out. OK...... David drilled the holes, let the water out, and discovered that some electrical components were affected by all the water, and they needed replacing. David did a great job replacing and reprogramming them. Once the computer system was back online, other items, (tire, turbo) system indicated faults. Those two were repaired quickly. When I returned to the shop, David walked me through all the things that we done, pointing them out in the car itself. Great attitude in the shop, and I believe a much better price here than taking it to the dealership (which the closest dealership is 60 kilometers away). I am planning on returning here for any more work that may need to be done.

I originally took the car to the dealership, but I was not real happy with the BMW dealer here so I took it to these folks. I knew about them because I had looked them up before taking my wife's car to them about 6 months ago. They did a few things on her car and their price was reasonable and they are very knowledgeable. I was told by the BMW dealership here that there were certain things only they could do, but that was not completely true and I ended up spending about half on a battery replacement than I would have spent with a dealer. I am very pleased with Discovery.

This work was done on my 2005 BMW 745i. The water hose ruptured causing all coolant to empty. BMWs are designed to operate without coolant for approximately 50 miles of travel. When this happened, I limped to Discovery Automotive, not knowing exactly what had happened. The only indication of trouble I received was an indication that the engine was overheating. Discovery advised of exactly what had happened, took my car right away and provided a loaner while the service was performed. The owner took the time to show me exactly what had happened and explain the 'cause and affect' relationships. I appreciate the professionalism and attention provided. I will use Discovery Automotive for future repair service and highly recommend them to others with a BMW

The work was completed in the time estimated. A loaner car was provided. The owner took time to explain exactly what was being done; took me into the shop so that he could actually show me the hoses being replaced and why. He pointed out an engineering anomaly which caused the problem. I was very satisfied with the professionalism and time taken to make me aware of not only the problem, but why it occurred. I intend to use Discovery Automotive again and highly recommend anyone requiring automotive service on a BMW to consider them.

This was a major job and took several days to complete. Discovery provided a loaner vehicle during this period. The owner personally contacted me on several occasions to advise on how the job was going. He even took pictures of the engine when out of the vehicle and also provided progress pictures as the work proceeded. The work was performed on schedule with my car provided to me when promised. I was extremely happy with the service and the followup by Discovery Automotive. This work was performed at a cost which was very favorable when compared to others capable of doing the work (estimates obtained). I have continued to use Discovery Automotive for other repairs and highly recommend this service provider.

After severall major storms, the problem is not fixed. I took it back to Discovery Automotive in April but after the recent storms in late April and May, I still get water in the right rear floor area.
