It was fine. They came out later than scheduled. They did a good job with what they did for me and what I needed. They did good work.

Dan Henson, the owner of company came out to do an estimate then
promptly emailed a quote. He did not try to sell us what we didn't need
and we had options. Work was started and finished in the week we
mutually agreed upon. He has an assistant working along side him but Dan
is nearly always on site directing, supervising, and participating in
the labor. They both worked diligently. They did not play music or carry
on loudly while onsite at our home which was appreciated since we work
at home. They cleaned up the worksite before leaving each day. Much
attention was paid to detail and aesthetic. In fact I was quite
impressed with Dan's amazing attention to precision and detail was
almost scientific in it's rigor! Much of that is often lacking in modern
workmanship so it was refreshing to see a job as well done.
While this was not the lowest bid we had gotten, the proposed and completed
quality of work was higher than others and met or exceeded our
expectations. Dan's workmanship/craftsmanship is excellent and we are
pleased with the result. Though you may find cheaper you will probably
not find better!

1. He was prompt and communicated if he would be a little late.
2. His estimate was right on.
3. He removed all of the damaged brick plus extra brick and even aligned the garage door as quoted. When done, he painted and caulked where necessary - outstanding job!!!!
4. The workmanship was top grade - even our neighbor came over and admired how nice of a job Dan did on our garage!!!!
5. The clean up work after each day was amazing. You could not tell that they were even here!!!!!
6. Dan is a man of his word and we would not hesitate to either use him again or refer him to anyone!!!
7. Bottom line - top quality work can be expected by Dan Henson - Masonry Contractor!

They did a good job. I thought it was fairly expensive, but they had to do a lot of pointing on the bricks. The came when they said they would and did what they said they were going to do. They were very conscientious. The got the job done over a period of 3 days. We had no difficulty communicating. They were very thorough.

Overall, it went well but it took a while. The response to Dan's deal was a lot greater than he expected and since there were just the two of them, it took a while for him to schedule everyone. On top of the delay in scheduling, there was so much rain in the spring that further delayed them.
The work had to be done in two phases. The first was to prepare the top of the stairs in front of my front door and then all of the steps and then there was the filling in of the mortar. That had to remain for one month to fully "take" and then they had to come back to remove all of the white mortar residue with an acid wash. It took a while to schedule that second visit, but once they came and finished that part, the front steps looked great!
Dan and his partner were very pleasant to work with. I remember how hot it was when they came to do the first phase and when I came home from work and saw them still working, they were both soaked through from perspiration and I felt so bad that they had to work in such hot temperatures, but they were very cheerful nonetheless.

Dan was great, and obviously took great pride in his work. I bought a "big deal" coupon, knowing that I probably needed more work than the coupon would cover. Dan looked at the job and offered me a few options. Once the work was started, he discovered the lack of foundation and another small problem, and offered solutions which we accepted. They did a wonderful job restoring the bricks and matching the existing mortar, but even better was the new bluestone top. Dan spent a lot of time picking out the stone, and the finished product is a fantastic upgrade to our front entrance. We were impressed with both his work ethic - he stayed past 9 PM one evening making sure things were right - and his attention to detail. To match our bricks (since they are no longer made), he took bricks from our chimney ash trap and crawlspace ventilation wells, which he then repaired with new bricks. Since most of these spots were already in disrepair, they are now in better shape than when he started. He also brought in topsoil and seeded a couple of spots in the grass verge by the road where his truck had left some indentations. We are very pleased with his work, and would definitely hire him again.

Initially, Mr. Henson came out shortly after being contacted and did the interview and stated he would get back soon with an estimate. There was a surprise in the initial interview and the estimate didn't come for several weeks and not until I filed a complaint with Angie's List. That concern was addressed and things since then have gone very smoothly. Mr. Henson was apologetic and explained his back log of jobs due to Angie's List request and his regular work as reasons for the delay. Plus, he is a small company. Once we got past all of this, our working relationship improved and was very pleasant. It took Mr. Henson and his helper two days to complete the work. We definitely would consider using Mr. Henson again.

It turned out to be more expensive than I expected, but i did see how damaged the bricks were and do think they did what needed to be done to fix the problem. It was worse than I had realized.

We were up against a deadline to get this repair work done so we could get our house on the market, Mr. Henson fit our job into his busy schedule to make that happen. The job took two days. The cost was the same as the estimate provided ahead of time. The repaired areas look great. We were very pleased with the work done at our house and would recommend this company to others.

I signed up for a big deal for a 6 hours of masonry work, but it was obvious that my front steps were in need of a lot of repair work.
Dan arrived when he said he would and sent me a quote in a timely fashion to rebuild my front steps. After I agreed to his offer, we established a time to begin the work and although the start was delayed due to weather, the job was completed as scheduled and looks great! I would use Dan again for any masonry work that I might have.

The provider Dan Henson and his crew were very professional and great with communication as to what would happen on what days. This was particularly valuable as the weather during the week of the work was not conducive to being able to establish a firm schedule. They did a great job and I would use them again!

Dan Henson was fantastic. He came out and examined the walls with cracks and cracked bricks. He promptly gave me a clear estimate by email. We had to wait until rainy weather passed, but then he got onto our job. I cannot say enough good things about his work. He took the time to get a perfect match for our mortar. He went under our house and harvested whole bricks to replace ones that broke along cracks where the house (from the 1960s) has settled. He wanted the bricks to match exactly, and they did. Dan made good choices and did careful work the whole way through the job. He gave our small job 100% attention. The result looks fantastic. I would hire Dan to do any brick work. He was very professional and has a lot of experience. I have seen pictures of custom work he has done & it is clear that he can do some incredibly artful work. My job was ordinary, but the result is extraordinary. My wife and I feel like Dan went the second mile for us. Thank you, Dan Henson! A+ job & a very nice person.

There was some difficulty in matching the mortar but they came back and
applied a number of various techniques until they achieved as good a

He did excellent work, I give him the highest markings. I would highly recommend they use them. He does excellent quality work. He keeps customers informed of his schedule and when he can make it and when he can't. I was never left in the dark.

He's done a good job his work is very good and I'm very pleased with him. They have done some masonry work that includes concrete pouring and repair. He took out existing brick steps. My gutter drain had to be inspected and repaired. They spotted with concrete brakes in the sidewalk. I used a coupon I found on Angie's list. They are still in the process of doing the work now. However as far as I see they're doing a great job!

Got one call in early July telling me he would call around July 26 to schedule appointment.After 2 months and Mr. Henson still had not come by to give me a price on the work I need done. He did returne 3 calls and promised to drop by between other jobs, but I need to get this work done before winter.
FinallyI left a message that I would have to give him a negative rating on the list, he returned the call immediately. He started work the following week and finished the job in 2 weeks. He does good work, once he gets started.
He said he was overwhelmed with responses with his Angie's list special. He is a 2 man operation and I would use him again, but not when he's running a special!
