We desperately needed an in-home office and after inspecting our home top to bottom CPR Construction came up with a better usage of our large bonus room & soon built us a side office w/ a beautiful window that needed no big home addition. His team worked fast & their attention to detail (shifting light fixtures etc) were things we would've never thought of, but enhanced the overall project. Thank you CPR for an excellent job!

I would have no problem if I were the General contractor and they were subs. However I found myself having to check their work every day and then have the supervisor Josh remedy the problems. He is spread too thin. Daily checks of work quality should be the supervisors job, not mine.

"You must be referring to another company. The first time CPR Construction LLC has ever done work on your street was June/July 2017 and it was at a different house."

Project went beautifully.  Chris did a thorough and professional estimate, and communicated along the way as to the progress.  He helped us make smart money-saving decisions and brought the project in on budget, and one day early!

_________________________________________________________________ At the completion of our project, Mr. Raneri told both me and my husband that if we had any issues on work performed on our project to give him a call, as he provides a 1 year warranty on his work. Now, Chris Raneri is defaulting on his express promise and moral/ethical obligation as a licensed NC General Contractor and as a PMP PROFESSIONAL. In December 2010, we noticed a couple of boards in our rec room that were beginning to peel up. Since Mr. Raneri said to call him with any issues, we tried. My husband or I called Chris several times (12/15, 12/17, 12/20), leaving voicemails that we had an issue and for him to call us. To help ensure that he would get our message, I also sent him an email on 12/17 to both of his email addresses ([email protected] and [email protected]). However, Mr. Raneri never responded to my email or any of our calls, and we had to go directly to the flooring contractor, which Chris hired. At the end of December, his flooring contractor told us those boards would need to be replaced. The flooring crew came to our home on Jan 12 and replaced the bad boards. As of this writing, Mr. Raneri has NEVER contacted us regarding our voicemails or email. Would you hire someone you have heard has been dishonest/deceitful to a client, lacks character and integrity, and, in essence, takes your money and runs? _________________________________________________________________ There are before and after pictures of our renovation on CPR’s website. The clincher on this is that Chris Raneri took these pictures without first asking permission to take pictures, nor did he get verbal or written permission to use them to market his work. By his doing this without my permission, he has egregiously invaded my privacy (tort of instrusion). Mr. Raneri is not only holding out the pictures of my home to evidence his alleged quality of work – particularly the shoddy painting – but he is also making money off of his website by obtaining new customers at my expense and on something that is my “property,” which he obtained without my express or implied permission. Since he is benefiting from something that is my “property” without getting my permission, I demand that Mr. Raneri reasonably compensate me for the use of my property since the 3rd week of July. If Mr. Raneri would like to continue using the photos of my basement, he may do so if and only if he agrees to compensate me for their use. Otherwise, I demand that Chris Raneri immediately cease and desist from any further use of any “before and after” pictures of my basement renovation, i.e., website, portfolio, or wherever else he may have pictures of my basement, and turn them over to me, leaving no copies to surface again in the future.
Response from CPR Construction LLC
"This customer's description is inaccurate, defamatory and one sided. CPR Construction took a very old outdated basement and turned it into a show piece. Everyone on the project (except her) thought it turned out shockingly well. Prior to us starting the basement renovation the owner showed us their upper floor renovation that was done prior. It looked great yet the owner spouted "all kinds of problems" with that contractor. Nothing positive to say just "problems". Red flag anyone? But it was not realized at that point. Moving on - regardless of the owner's defamatory remarks, the project turned out handsomely. The before and after photos proved it. The project was on schedule, with no mishaps, and finished at a cost that was what was promised. Her description doesn't mention that the husband felt obligated to apologize for her behavior at times after her yelling and drama. It was good guy/bad guy with them multiple times. Paint splatters along the baseboard on a dark floor that we also installed should not have been made into such a big deal. They were easily cleaned. But when the owner is on her hands and knees looking and scratching at them from12" away and complaining every step of the way (all this prior to us finishing) then it was clear this is someone who has grossly unrealistic expectations. When an owner walks a project multiple times before it's complete it is normal they will find "punch items and imperfections" simply because the project is not complete. If she found some after it was complete, which she did, it should not have been made into such a big deal. Regardless, they were corrected. But to treat us and our painters irrationally and meanly is unacceptable. In the end, and after the project was completed as proven by her final payment, her anger must have festered. Rather than dealing with us professionally she complained to the Internet with descriptions that were baseless and suggestive of things that were blown way out of proportion by her. She lashed out by demanding payment for the use of a few photos on a website. How petty. Because we forgot to get her permission in writing to use them they were removed in good faith. The photos would have clearly shown the remarkable job done - something she was obviously afraid of admitting. Again, every person including all our vendors walking through the project were in awe of the project's outcome, regardless of the random pin head sized paint splatters. This customer is a clear example of the the saying "You can't please everyone", and, "There's always one like this". She took the cake. We've learned a lot from that project, especially how not to treat people. Since that time and over 240 customers later our testimonials and recommendations continue to grow rapidly. Many are listed on our website. After returning a few times after the project was completed but to continue to repaint surfaces that were already finished and clean looking we said no more, unless something major needed to be addressed. No more trips happened. So you can see there are 2 sides to every story."
