At project begin, stressed importance of promptness, received promises of same. Work began late. Workers far too eager in stripping front porch, obviously unsupervised; damage so severe that contractor volunteered to replace half of deck wood at no cost. At this point however, rather than placing our problem case at the top of his list, contractor put us at the bottom of his list since we now represented a net loss. Project took about two months, with manager doing work himself between other contracts. Wood replaced, porch looks okay and finish is indeed better, but to an experienced eye new woodwork quality does not compare well with prior work. One good thing: contractor always answered his phone promptly.
