DO NOT HIRE THIS FRAUDULANT "business" TO DO ANY WORK ON YOUR HOUSE!!! You've been warned!!!! My problems with Thomas Pike of Alpine Roofing started after I hired him to do warranty work on my home back in September 2017. We had a storm come through which caused $11k of hail damage. I thought I was doing the right thing by hiring him since he wasn't storm chasing in my subdivision like many other "crooks" during this time of need. After speaking with him over the work, I decided to go with his business because he seemed trustworthy but boy was I wrong. Three weeks after hiring him and after writing him a check for $7k, the shingles showed up and they got started on replacing my roof. In my opinion, three weeks after signing him a check was too long. There had been folks who had their house fixed within a week. After the roof had been fully replaced, I didn't see Tom or his crew for another month after he had told me they would be back the following week after finishing the roof. My house looked like total crap because there were things they started on but did not finish and I thought I would get into issues with my HOA. Now I start to get ****** off but stayed patient. After calling and calling, they finally showed up to put my siding on in November 2017 a few weeks before Thanksgiving. They completed the siding in a couple days so I asked, "When do I get my gutters replaced?" Tom says, "Next week...." and no one showed up until two weeks later. I call and hound him again but all of these expectations Tom would set, totally miss deadline HE would set and not give any care about when he would get back out to my house to get this work done. During thanksgiving week, Tom hired a gutter contractor to finally put gutters on my house. I met with the contractor before leaving to go to MA and when I came home, the gutters had been installed. The only thing left for Tom to do was fix some shotty work that had been done with flashing and fascia work (I'm not sure how someone can walk off a site as if this work acceptable because it wasn't). I told Tom about the punchlist items and he again said he would have someone take care of it. Guess what, it's February 2018 and those punchlist items have not been touched. A week after I got back from my MA trip, I come home to see that my gutters have been ripped off my house and I immediately called Tom to find out if he had paid the gutter contractor only to find out he didn't. I ended up putting in a claim against the gutter contractor's policy because he caused more damage when pulling the shingles back off my house and got a check to fix it. Looking back, I find that Tom does not run a legitimate business. He writes a bill of safe but no contracts and asks for money up front because I believe he doesn’t have the financial backing to supply products and work hours for people he hires to do work. He caused me a lot of stress and I just got tired of it and fired him and told him not to send anyone else out to my house to do anything. I even had to clean up all the mess he left behind in my back yard. I decided to hire a reputable company to finish the work. Tom still has $915 that he did not pay the gutter contractor and decided that he’s not going to return it because he thinks I owe him $1400 (I’m not giving him another dime because the work on my house is still not complete and the detail work looks like a 5 year old did it) for extra work that he did. I still don’t have gutters on my home. He told me prior that he had submitted this to my insurance when in fact, he hasn’t. Since he’s been so shady though the whole repair ordeal, my insurance company is asking him to provide receipts of everything he purchase to repair my home and he hasn’t produced anything to them. I think he’s shaking in his boots now because he did other things with the money other than what he was supposed to do and didn’t keep good records. I have pictures of my home in the current messy state that it’s in and I’ve decided to report him to the NC Department of Justice for not returning my money for the gutters and for being fraudulent throughout this whole matter. Alpine Roofing aka Pike Roofing aka Thomas Pike had every opportunity to do a good job but he didn’t care so I hope this review and my complaint to the DoJ prevents him from every doing business in NC ever again. I noticed that he removed the bogus address they had listed on Google reviews but I’m posting it here; Alpine Roofing Contractors, 206 Playford Ln,Cary, NC 27519. I looked up this address on the Wake.gov and it does not come up with an owner. He also drives a red Ford pickup with Ohio plates. SHADY!!!!

Thomas Richard Pike and Joseph Patrick Pike roofing brothers from North Canton, OHIO. Currently living in Sanford, NC. DBA: Alpine Roofing, Pike-Barker Roofing, Alpine Roofing Contractors, Alpine Professional Home Improvements, Inc., Done Right Roofing, LLC. OH license cancelled. No NC license. No address on invoice. Several bogus addresses on internet. Internet ad states he has employees. Indicates legally he must carry General Liability Insurance as well as Workman's Comp. Showed me copies of false insurance papers. No public record of either. Cashed my $3,300 home owners insurance check on June 6, 2016. To date no work performed. To date only a small pile of mismatched shingles and one opened box of roof vent products dropped off at site. I was told my shingles were ordered and in the warehouse at RSG Roofing Supply Group. Even met Mr. Pike there to confirm. To date no shingles no tar paper no supplies delivered to my property. I need 47 squares of architectural shingles, 12 rolls of roof felt, 120 feet of ridge vent, cool seal and all other supplies. My SIGNED contract # 149163-B dated June 2, 2016 for $10,800 shows deposit of $3,300. Check # 010283 from Erie Insurance Company. Have notified my bank SECU of breach of contract and unfair and deceptive trade practices. Have notified Roy Cooper Attorney General and State of NC Department of Justice File # 1608317. Have notified my insurance company. Have notified WRAL Troubleshooter Diane Wilson. I spoke at length with the NC Licensing Board for General Contractors on the rules and regulations in North Carolina. I am contacting BBB as well as Angie's List. Mr. Pike actually answered my phone call today as I dialed *67 first. He continues to create a false impression with misleading words PROMISING me he will send his worker Orlando over to fix my roof. He is very hesitant whenever I mention the check he cashed and where my supplies are. He promised me he would call me back in one hour. I called 2 more times this afternoon and no answer. He will not answer the phone if he sees my number on his caller ID.
