He gave four references which were all positive, with the reservation that he was slow. Started several weeks late, often did not show up, failed to apply second coat per manufacturer's instructions, did not apply second coat in some areas. Presented a surprise bill for an additional $600 at the end saying the shutters were not a part of the contract, and acted like a bully. This despite the fact that I had three other estimates that were in the same price range. He threatened to take me to court and put a lien on my house. Had to contact a lawyer to be assured that this was a scam and I did not need to worry. He left his ladders behind for three weeks before picking them up. What should have been a joyful experience for us to get our home painted turned into a stressful nightmare for no good reason. We are at least thankful that the work itself was not bad.
