Highly recommend Smoky Mountain Home Inspections. We're buying a home in Waynesville, NC. Our inspector, Josh Garcia, was excellent. His communication was on point which was very important to us. He was at the house on time and contacted us as soon as he was finished to meet and go through his findings. Josh is friendly, thorough and very professional. He gladly took the time to answer our questions and explain details about the inspection. Josh had the official report to us right away and remained readily available if we had further questions. The entire process went extremely well, and Hugh is a very pleasant person to work with. He came to the home a day early to set up the radon test. The day of the inspection led to a 35-page report that covered everything imaginable. He started at 9 a.m. and left at 3:15 p.m. after sitting down with us for nearly an hour to discuss all that he had seen, plus he had shown us various concerns during the process. We now know what needs to be done before the closing date, and can work with the realtors to make sure the home is safe and sound. Anyone needing a home inspection in the region should definitely consider this company.

Very thorough inspection. Was on site over 4 hours. Hugh was very professional in contracting for and completing the inspection. He spent time after inspection was complete going over and illustrating recommendations. Arrived on time.

Mr. Alexander quickly responded to our initial request, and was very helpful in understanding our project and working with us to come up with a proposal.  He patiently answered all of our questions, and completed the work on schedule.  We received the inspection report within 2 days, and it was very complete and thorough in explaining all of the problems he found.

Hugh did a very thorough job of not only inspecting our house-to-be, but also explaining what he saw as he went.  He made sure we understood each issue and how we could fix it or who we could contact to fix it.  I was very impressed with his ability to relay information so we could understand what he was talking about without making us feel stupid. 

We received our results for both the radon test and the inspection quickly.  Unfortunately, the radon test came back elevated, but because the homeowner entered the home after it started and did some work to the house, the test was skewed.  Hugh came back out and did another test for us, which showed consistently high levels.  Hugh provided us with the information we needed to make a decision about the radon levels and who to contact to best mitigate the house. 

If we ever buy a house again, we would definitely use Hugh and I would recommend him to anyone who needs an honest, thorough, informative home inspection. 

Hugh was extremely thorough with the inspection. After he was finished at the home, he walked around the home with us to point out the items that he suggested needed addressing before we bought the home. His report was delivered to us the next day and it was laid out so well, with photos and detail.
