It was fine. They took the carpet with them. It was a hardwood floor and the carpet was on the hardwood floor. They did a good job. It was paid for by my insurance company. They were here when they said they would be. They did exactly what they said they would do. They came in, said the leak was in a certain place and that they had to tear up a certain section of the floor. They said they had to redo it, refinish it and they did that; it was fine.

Update 9/12/2014
After seeing this review Servicemaster contacted me and subsequently touched up the woodwork. I had reported the date incorrectly which was the reason they responded that they had not performed this service. The owner says that his trucks carry corner protectors, however, no corner protectors were used at my house.
THIS REVIEW BELONGS UNDER CARPET CLEANING, not smoke and water damage. I have updated my overall rating from C to B and will consider using them again. I was impressed by their diligence and professionalism in making this right, especially since I had not complained directly to them and submitted a review much later in response to an Angie's List request for reviews on this company.. Had the technician used the corner protectors, Servicemaster would have straight As from me.
