Excellent. I have moved a lot and Personal Touch was by far the best movers I have ever worked with. The crew was professional, courteous and fast. They were very careful with my furniture and did not scratch one thing. They actually came in under the estimate that I was given. I could not have asked for a better move.

I found them online and saw that they were licensed and insured and that they offered free estimates. I called and spoke with one of the owners Glen and requested a free estimate. He asked me over the phone what they were moving. I explained that I had a 10x15 storage unit that was full but not packed so tight that there was not room to move around inside the storage unit. I then explained in great detail that I was concerned about the place that they would be moving it to because the apartment was on the backside of the building and could only be accessed by going down several concrete stairs and up to a second floor apartment. Within seconds Glen quoted me two people at $120.00 per hour for three hours and $60.00 travel fee. I then expressed concern over how sure he was of the estimate because of moving expenses I only had a limited amount of money. He said he was sure his people could get it done in that amount of time. I then set up the moving date and time with one of his associates. The day of the move Ronald one of his movers called me and said they had a third person available for the move and the rates would go to $150.00 per hour but with three people they would be able to get it done quicker and it would wind up being less than the original quote. I agreed to this. They showed up at the storage unit  with two men and the third person being a petite female and one dolly cart at 9:00 am and had me quickly sign their paperwork so they could get started. Upon first look of the storage unit Ronald said they should be able to unload the unit in an hour and then two hours to unload at the apartment. That was the first issue. He was saying I was then at 3 hours at $150.00 and a $75.00 travel charge which was not less than the original quote. However I had to have the items out of the storage unit that day per my agreement with the storage unit so I went with that. After 2 hours Ronald communicated to me that I did realize an estimate was just an estimate and I communicated to him that I had realized that one hour ago but an estimate should be close to the actual cost. The female moved a dresser in the unit and caused a tower of boxes along with two plastic tubs to crash to the ground. One of the tubs disintegrated upon impact the other busted. The tower of boxes contained glass items including princess house glasses. I ask at that point how that was going to be handled and Ronald communicated to me that they would check the boxes once they delivered the furniture. They did not mark the boxes in any way in order to check them once they were moved. Once they loaded everything from the storage unit we then traveled to the apartment. The actual movers freaked out when they saw what they had to move the furniture down and up in order to get it to the apartment but started using the one dolly they had brought and began moving my stuff. They finished the job through a thunderstorm which had to be paused for and one of the movers was also stung by a bee during the move around 2:40pm. Ronald then went to the truck to put my bill together and presented me with an $828.00 bill. I told him he needed to get one of the owners on the phone. Originally I spoke with Glen and explained to him that he was going to have negotiate this with me because I was presented a bill that was twice as much as the quote. I explained to him that I am a single mother of two children with two jobs and this was not possible for me. At some point the other owner Craig intervened in the conversation and was completely rude to me. I explained that I worked for a business in which when we did estimates, we actually sent a technician out to determine what would be needed and how much time it would take to complete the job and we overestimated in most cases and the customer paid less. I told him that was good business practices, the way they are running this business was unacceptable. At the time I offered to pay him $600.00 which I thought would be fair and try to meet him half way to make this right. Craig refused my offer and told me he would see me in court. The actual employees that work for him that moved my stuff communicated to me that they were cussed on a regular basis by customers for this same thing and praised me for refusing to pay the bill. I immediately filed a complaint with the BBB as soon as the movers left. They broke a leg off of a $350.00 stand up mirror that is solid wood and opens to a jewelry stand, they also broke and lost a knob off of a dresser that I will never be able to replace. Over the next few days as I unpacked my items I discovered broken pictures that were destroyed because the glass cut the pictures, broken dishes, broken trophies that my children earned and meant to keep forever that resulted from the boxes the female allowed to fall in the storage unit. She also dropped the one dolly they actually brought and almost took out a brand new 47" flat screen TV on it's plunge into the wall of my apartment and did damage to the walls of my apartment. Craig has pathetically responded to my complaint with the BBB and told nothing but lies in his response which I have rejected and he has now indicated through the BBB he will see me in small claims court and he will win. I during the next week on my second job happened to run into a previous employee of theirs who offered to testify that this is a pricing scheme this company uses on a regular basis. I have also spoke to numerous people that used other moving companies who said they actually came out to either their storage unit or their house and then traveled to where they would be moving their stuff and gave them an estimate which actually was what they paid when the move was over. Please put this review out there, once its posted I am sure there are plenty of other people who had this same experience with this company and they will gladly admit that they were done the same way by this business.

They were beyond terrible. They put my potted plants in the bottom of wardrobe boxes. When I unpacked my clothes, not only were the plants dead, but there was dirt all over my clothing. Toilet cleaner was put into a wardrobe box with clothing hung on top of it. By the grace of God the cleaner didn't open as my clothing would have been ruined. My jewelry was dumped from the drawer where I kept it into the bottom of another box. I am still unable to untangle many of the necklaces with delicate chains. My husband's starched work shirts were not hung in a wardrobe box, but stuffed in a dish pack box. They are a wrinkled wad. Personal Touch also didn't mark the contents or the room location on many of our boxes. We didn't know in which room to put our boxes or where things were that we needed. In addition to all this, none of our furniture was wrapped or protected in any way. Just about every flat surface on just about EVERY piece of furniture is scratched from boxes being slid across the top or furniture being stacked. Personal Touch broke the leg off one of my tables. They broke the leg off an antique wardrobe. (Instead of picking up the wardrobe, they drug it.) Pieces of wood trim are broken off pieces of furniture and are missing. They cracked the foot board on one of our beds (I can't even begin to imagine how they did that), and broke a finial off another piece of furniture. Personal Touch broke a hunk out of the marble top of a marble top table. Many of our furniture pieces will need professional restoration. Glen Cox of Personal Touch sold my husband on their services. Glen said that because they would do such a careful job with our move we didn't need to purchase full coverage insurance. We will now get pennies for the damage caused by Personal Touch Movers. After spending $5399 on this move, we will be paying another fortune to have our furniture restored. You've been warned.

I have moved many, many times including long distance moves, and I must say that Personal Touch Movers is just what their name says.  They were extremely professional from the beginning to the end.  I have moved in the past with "big name" movers, and have had numerous problems including rude movers, broken furniture, unresponsive calls, no-show and more.  You will experience none of these with this company.  The owners, Craig and Glen take a personal interest in their business and their satisfaction of their customers.  The team of movers that moved us took pride in their work, handled the furniture as if it was their own.  We are so happy that we found them on Angie's List.  Their "A" rating is well deserved,  Hire them you won't be sorry that you did!

They arrived on time and immediately started working.  Even though they worked non-stop, they found time to be humorous and friendly.  The packer they recommended, Grace, was exceptional.  I find myself still feeling thankful to her for the perfect job she did of unpacking my things.  This is the best moving company in Asheville.  The house cleaner they recommended was also exceptional!  Moving is never easy for anyone, so I am doubly grateful to Personal Touch for making my move so much easier.

They called when they said they were going to call.  Showed up when they said they were going to.  They moved the refrigerator out of the basement quickly and professionally.  Same with unloading it later.  Great job, guys!!

I hired two movers for three hours to help move our furniture and boxes from our old house in Fairview to a new home we had purchased in Black Mountain.  Two young men showed up about 5 minutes after they were scheduled to arrive.  I didn't mind that because our old house in Fairview was pretty remote and difficult for most first-timers to find.  They were supposed to bring a 24-foot moving truck, but the one they brought was smaller (maybe 18 feet?).  My husband told them the truck looked small, and they acknowledged the error by offering to help us make two trips instead of one so we could get everything moved.  The extra trip took more time -- at least a couple of hours.  We fed the guys pizza lunch since they were staying extra-long.  Overall, I think they did a fine job and the level of service and professionalism was equal to what I had expected.  I would recommend this moving service, but make sure you are clear about the truck size in advance and confirm the truck size upon arrival.

Our move went very poorly.  The move was rushed as they told me they had another move to do that day.  Found out this wasn't true from the owner/manager when I complained later on.  A lot of our stuff was damaged.  The guy in charge of the move was condescending and one of the other movers complained the whole time about how much of a hassle it was to move our heavy furniture.  If we couldn't decide where to put something in 1 second, they would just leave it anywhere.  We had to move some stuff on our own after they hurried out of here.  We had stuff that Good Will was going to pick up at our old house that day and two of the movers  wanted most of it.  One of the guys said he'd be back to pick up the stuff he wanted after the move, but never came back.  Good Will had already come so we had to get rid of the stuff ourselves.  It was the most stressful, unpleasant move of our lives so far!  Would NEVER hire them again!
