We have no complaints about the drain or it's effectiveness. The guys that dug the trench for the pipe to the street were professional and got the job done quickly. Our complaint is with Jerry's work on the patio. Before he started, I talked to him and tried to express my concern that he would have to raise the level of the concrete near the door several inches to get the right slope, which would cause us to have a step there or have to raise the door. His response was dismissive, saying every homeowner thinks they know, but to trust him, he's the pro. When he came to do the work, he mixed up a couple bags of Quikcrete from Lowe's and did a very amateurish job of slopping it on near the patio door and walls. Before it even dried, I could tell from looking at it that there had been no significant change to the slope of the patio and that water was not going to run off toward the drain like we expected. A few days later, it rained and sure enough, water pooled on the patio, albeit in different places than before. Now, there's a slight bump that keeps water away from the door (for a while, until it rains a little harder) but we just end up with a puddle 2' from the door that sits there for days while the kids and the dog track water in and out of the house. There is also still a place where water pools by the exterior wall, which makes me very uncomfortable. I called Jerry to ask him to come back and take a look at it. I even offered to email him pictures of the water still on the patio and he said not to bother, that he really needed to see it in person so he would call me the next time it rained. Three or four rains later, I still hadn't heard from him so I did take pictures and emailed them to him. It has been two months and he has never responded to me. He came highly recommended by several colleagues of our real estate agent. He was paid up front by the sellers of the house, not us. So, we feel that he didn't consider us real customers and that he didn't owe us anything.
